FC Midtjylland reveal reason for rejecting bids for Super Eagles striker

Several European clubs have submitted bids to sign Paul Onuachu off the books of the Danish giants but none has been accepted, according to a club official.

The Nigeria international is at the centre of a transfer tussle with Belgian side, Club Brugge, having the upper hand but his parent club will not allow him leave unless the price is right.

Club Brugge, thought to be leading the race for Paul’s signature, only recently submitted an offer of €5 million for the former FC Ebedei star which FC Midtjylland believe is below the true worth of the Nigerian star.

Anderlecht are also reportedly set to make a bid for the the tall, gangling striker for which Midtjylland are willing to play the waiting game.

The 24-year-old is currently on holiday after being a part of the Super Eagles squad that won bronze medal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

But his future continues to be a hot topic in the transfer circles.

The Danish giants have however publicly cleared the air that Paul is still a Midtjylland player and will remain so unless something interesting shows up.

“Paul is on holiday now, and when he returns to Denmark, we must have found the right club for him.

“It is, of course, something we are already doing, and there have been lots of inquiries and bids, but nothing has been satisfactory. So far, we have chosen to say no,” Claus Steinlein, Chief Executive Officer, FC Midtjylland told tipsbladet.dk.

Since joining the club in 2012, Onuachu has made 134 league appearances for Midtjylland and scored 51 goals.

Chris Houghton almost led his tram to relegation last season and got fired

What you should do is look at how much money Brighton invested in players recruitment. Thier main and only of striker of significance was 35 year old Glenn Murray.

There were many championship sides that invested more than Brighton. In effect what Chris did over 5 years bringing them from the lower division to the EPL and kept them in the EPL with no money was near miraculous.

The set up in Brighton is not what you think there is a lot more too it than you can imagine.

Chris Houghton is a good coach but English premier league is no longer the place for conservative football

He will be employed in the championship soon

If you have essentially championship players then you can not play offensive football you have to play compact tight team game and work very hard.

To play offensive football you need quality players and that costs money and the bigoted chairman refused to spend but expected to Win.

Super Eagles Coach Rohr Makes New Demand From NFF

concisenews.global Jul 24, 2019 1:52 PM

Nigeria Vs Tunisia: What Rohr Said After Super Eagles Clinched Bronze
Coach Gernot Rohr/File Photo
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has said he would head for a refresher course if local coaches are carried along, Concise News reports.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had said Rohr would go on a refresher course in Bayern Munich, Germany despite calls for his sack after leading Nigeria to a bronze medal finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)

However, the German gaffer has said he would only go for the course if his assistant coaches, mostly Nigerians, get the same opportunity.

“Yes, it is a good idea from President Pinnick I think because every coach regardless of the experience you have needs to go on refresher courses almost all the time to learn latest trends in coaching,” he told Sporting Life.

“I want to be better than I am and my going to Bayern Munich is to know how the technical crew is doing in the domestic league and in the CAF Champions League.

“I am German and French also. I have had a look at situations in a club like Lyon, Bordeaux, Paris Saint Germain and even Bayern Munich also before now.

“But it will be good for me to refresh it with another opportunity with Bayern Munich.

“I, however, feel that this opportunity shouldn’t be for me alone but that it should be for other coaches in Nigeria who are working with the national teams.”

According to the former Niger coach, “I don’t believe that I know it all already and I am happy that it is President Pinnick’s idea but this programme shouldn’t be for me alone.

“There should be supplementary programmes for our assistant coaches also and for young coaches like Victor Agali who is having is a diploma in German.

“I don’t know when I will start yet. We have to wait if this association continues. My decision is not made yet. I need a few periods of rest to think about it.

“We will see but if it will continue, I have to start the programme immediately and it must be with the other coaches too to make them better.”

Look at Egyptian trezeguet joining Aston villa easily but look at emem eduok going to croatia

Nigeria players dey tire me at times, now check at their stats, both players, they spent about the same time in kasimpasa if i am to calculate, i dont know why eduok was loaned out before the end of last season, he was easily their best player after mbaye digane

Eduok was mostly playing as a right winger, and i think trezequet is playing as a left winger

Trezequet: 71 league games and 25 goals for kasimpasa

Eduok: 107 league games and 27 goals

Trezeguet is a better player than him but na just small thing, my brother cant even go to seria A, Laliga na croatia him dey go while him mate trezeguet don join aston villa, not that he is that better than him if i am to go by stats.

Sometimes I ask, with the "quality" of African football, do we really need an AM or a good CM/Box-to-Box?

the thing is most Nigerian players have little or no aspiration to excel in their career. No zeal to improve their abilities, no ambition and determination for greatness that's just it... Look at Iheanacho, Onazi, Musa, Agu, Nwakali and several others.

Can we retain Rohr as NFF boss grin

Rohr makes fresh demands from NFF

Head Coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, has insisted that the only way he would go on a refresher course with Bayern Munich, is if the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) outlines the refresher programmes for local coaches.

The NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, recently disclosed that Rohr would be heading to Germany on attachment with the Bundesliga champions, to learn about the latest innovations in football management.

But Rohr has now said that his decision to go for the refresher course, depends on if his assistant coaches who are mostly Nigerians, have the same chance.

“Yes, it is a good idea from President Pinnick I think because every coach regardless of the experience you have needs to go on refresher courses almost all the time to learn latest trends in coaching.

“I want to be better than I am and my going to Bayern Munich is to know how the technical crew is doing in the domestic league and in the CAF Champions League.

Average Nigerian players chase money not necessarily the chance to improve.

Akinyemi Adeleke had offers in France but chose to go to Ik Start in Norway. His former club owner expressed surprise at his decision. Now he is playing second division in Norway.

If you dig further, you will find out that the player and agent were going to make more money from the Norway move. Imagine ignoring France for Norway.

for the fact that ROHR is working with the NFF is not a small man ... he owns so many big hotels in France, and some african countries ...he has built a successful business for himself, and he is comfortable ... that is why he doesn't run after NFF for money ... for hi to have attained this level , there will be some level of maturity and intelligence in his dealings .... he deserves some accolades grin just that he is too conservative ... and made the eagles to lose the glamour that comes with our style of play ..now we play like the Chelsea under Mourinho ...Purely negative football ...sad part .. grin
