What is your salary expectation?

Answer: In my previous job, I earned XY annual net. However, I have done some basic research, and understand that a compensation package ranging from XYZ to XYZ applies to this role and industry. I’d be comfortable with a package in that band.

4. Why do you want to leave your current company?

The golden rule here is, never say anything negative about your previous employers. Even if you got fired, frame everything up in a positive light. Explain the situation as best as you can, tell the interviewer you have since taken the step to improve and you're confident of doing a better job going forward.

If you're taking on a new challenge; explain that you felt the time was right to take up a new challenge and you believe your skill base wasn't being used to its full potential.
