Odunayaw:The ARA 2 does not have a chassis. It's monocoque hull is the chassis, so no other external chassis is required. Someone more informed than I can better explain how a monocoque hull works. The 9ton would be a delight. It would make it cheaper to purchase, however capacity would be reduced. |

Henry240:As you said above a monocoque does not sit on top of a chassis....thus the diffs, gearbox, propshafts ect ect are all part of the Hull. The biggest benefit of a monocoque hull is obviously weight, secondly monocoques also tend to be stiffer and stronger than traditional body on frame designs. |

Here's an article I wrote for divergent Options. Some options are far-fetched but achievable Options for the Nigerian Air Force to go on the Offensive in the Counterinsurgency War National Security Situation: The counter-insurgency war in Nigeria has prevailed for seven years; causing untold hardship to the citizens of the region, devouring a great number of financial resources as well as precious unrecoverable lives[1]. The much sought-after victory has continued to elude the Nigerian Military despite its determined efforts to triumph over the terrorists. In the conflict, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has been criticized severally for being absent in the war efforts due to unavailable capable weapons platforms[2]. Date Originally Written: May 15, 2019. Date Originally Published: July 22, 2019. Author and / or Article Point of View: The author writes from the perspective of a seasoned regional defense technology analyst focusing on Africa. The article is written from the point of view of the Nigerian Air Force decision-makers considering using modern technologies to sustain the counter-insurgency war, as well as offering options on the building of aerial capabilities in order to degrade the terrorist elements. https://divergentoptions.org/2019/07/22/offensive-options-for-the-nigerian-air-force-options-in-its-counterinsurgency-war/ 1 Like |

jln115: "Rebuilt Mirage IIIs" Rebuilt Mirage 3's with a locally produced BVR missile and a air to ground weapons delivery system that equaled the F-15 Strike Eagle in CEP. And a 800km range cruise missile. Also still flying today in Ecuador and the US as an opfor trainer for the USAF Some of these are Kfirs, but that's basically just a cheetah with a different engine. 3 Likes

Hopefully this pic will illuminate certain facts and dispel misconceptions. Conventional peer war fighting involving traditional formations, brigades and even full divisions in traditional combat-capturing defended positions from similar units. This necessitates fire support, the quantity of which most of us have no idea. Anyway this coy outpost battle in the Korean War gives some idea. On the night of June 10th, the Chinese attacked Harry with an entire regiment. Starting the night with the intention of overwhelming the single company defending it, they were surprisingly repulsed after hours of heavy fighting. The next day, the Americans reinforced the outpost and pulled back what was left of the K Company, who had valiantly defended it. They also deployed tanks into the valley east of Harry, so as to redirect the Chinese attacks towards the ‘Kill-Zone’ of the American artillery fire. The Chinese kept bombarding during the days and attacking during the night but, despite their numerical superiority, the Americans' firepower proved too strong to overcome. On June 18th, they called off the attacks, having suffered over 5,000 casualties, while the UN casualties amounted to 699 killed, wounded, or missing.https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/battle-of-outpost-harry-korean-war.html Those are empty US arty casings-imagine the weight;how much ship space was taken up; how many vehicles trucked them to the camp;the fuel consumed;etc etc. War fighting is won by logistics! 2 Likes

jln115:You said SA unitary budget is 9 times more than Nigeria's federal budget. Which is a wrong assertion, except of course,if you want to claim greater knowledge than we the citizens of the country. |
Re: African Militaries/ Security Services Strictly Photos Only And Videos Thread by Nobody: 4:50pm On Jul 27, 2019 |
EVarn:geez bud!!! .......yes the "9 times" was an exaggeration in the end but it still doesn't change my original assertion.... Go back and read my comments leading up to that post, you'll see: 1. That I originally never mentioned Nigeria and 2. SAs budget is twice the size of the nearest African country, which wasn't even an argument or me trying to brag but actually me criticising my own country. |

shadowprimezero: Lol so 5 soldiers with uniform speaks about the others. all their famous so called generals have been wiped out and the government isn't using the airforce to tract them. This guys are a group of rag tag fighters high on marijuana or other drugs. Specialized in kidnapping, beheading and others. The Cameroonian government forces are also to blame because of the wrong handling of this crises from the begining with the burning of villages, and several other horrible attrocities. But lets be sincere my brother the government has won on all the fronts. Military speaking they are already defeated because even their so called strong holds are in government hands, politically its a total victory cause even the US House of Representatives just voted on HR 358 which states cameroon is one and indivisible and threatens those hiding and sponsoring these band of hooligans with the justice and no country recognizes their state, on the social aspect the people in those regions are now feed up with them, some villages where they were hiding have started capturing them and gving them to government forces. The Military has realise u need to win the heart first before anything, YOU CAN"T WIN A GUERRILLAR WAR WITHOUT THE POPULATION ON YOUR SIDE AND LETS BE SINCERE THOSE PICS ARE DATED CAUSE I RECOGNIZE SOME OF THOSE GUYS AND MOST HAVE BEEN KILLED SINCE THE BEGINING OF THIS YEAR. 1 Like |
