Hey! hey!! So that on the eve of the 2022 WC we will discover Enyeama has lost form and we start experimenting goalies again.

Eyeama's era is and gone for good.

We need to start building for 2022 WC with the young goalies we have currently. This is the best time to give those green horns the necessary game time and not on the eve of a major tourney like the World Cup.

That's if the young keeper is better than Enyeama.

New Watford signing Tom Dele-Bashiru has explained why he committed his international future to Nigeria over his country of birth, England.

The 19-year-old was the poster boy of the Flying Eagles squad to the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup and became provisionally cap-tied to the African giants after making his competitive debut in the 4-0 rout of Qatar.

Tom Dele-Bashiru, who had previously represented England at U16 level, confessed that it was going to be difficult for him to break into the Three Lions squad but stressed that he does not regret his decision to play for Nigeria.

Speaking to the official website of the Hornets, Dele-Bashiru stated : ''I just felt like I'll probably play first team with the Super Eagles, more likely than playing for England because England have a lot of players to choose from.

''Obviously it is my home nation so it was good to play for them.

''I am very proud of my roots, I try and embrace it. I paint a good picture so that people understand what it is to be a Nigerian''.

Ladi Salami is the agent of both Manchester-born Dele-Bashiru and Super Eagles striker Isaac Success, and it is believed the midfielder chose to join Watford ahead of other clubs interested in his signature because his representative has a good relationship with the Vicarage Stadium outfit.

So who gave Mba the assist to score in the final?
Look at it this way. Everyone in a team contributes, but not everyone wins the man of the match award. You measure a player's contribution by the value they offer. Messi for example makes the difference in a lot of games for Barcelona.

Victor Moses at the Afcon was immense. We scored a total of 11 goals in that tournament and VM was involved in almost all the goals. He had 2 goals and 4 assists. Infact his assist got Mba the goal in the final.

So back to the bone of contention, when we praise a player like that, it is not an attempt to belittle the contribution of others in the team. Rather it is a venture to reward the effort of a player who has been more outstanding than the rest.

Based on stats (ceteris paribus), without VM we would not have won that afcon. It is as simple as that.

Confirm.

thanks jare, the way dem dey insult NFF anytime the salary issues come out no be here

inst it in August 2016 ROHR start work?
Had the contract terms expired?

Infact how you c nacho goal yestarday

Brilliant goal. Nacho showed drive, hunger and determination. What impressed me most was his instinct to pick the angle. Shows the bite is still there. Also impressed seeing Nacho switching roles with the forward line. Shows the manager is having more faith in his play.

However, I hope Nacho does more during play with respect to fluidity. He should follow play of the ball than waiting for chances upfront. Drop deep to build play, go to the wing to help passing fluidity.

What matters is that he looked sharper than before which is credit to the brilliant style of play Leicester City have adopted.

Brilliant finish but what I found more impressive is the fluid movement of the ball and how the goal was worked. Did not know Gerrard had such nice playing pattern. Learnt a thing or two from this.

Ighalo’s wife Sonia celebrates husband’s retirement from National team

Joan Igbava 0 July 23, 2019 7:05 pm

Wife of ex-Nigerian footballer, Sonia Ighalo has opened up on the struggles of the Former Super Eagles star, Odion Jude Ighalo during and after the 2018 World cup famous last group game against Argentina which Nigeria lost 2-1.

In the Aftermath of the game, Odion Ighalo came under serious criticism and backlash from angry Nigerian football fans following his missed chances, who also took it personal sending threats to the family of the footballer.

Ighalo’s wife in an appreciatory post on her Instagram account recounted the journey from the 2018 World cup to the 2019 Afcon,

“My king my hero a true born king… I could write a long epistle about the journey and battle we fought before and after world cup… I remember the famous Nigeria vs Argentina match when you called that morning crying, telling me how you woke up with heavy pains on both legs… my first thought was, why today when you have a crucial game…my heart was heavy to hear you cry.. because I have known you to be a strong man even when in pains you always try to hide it from me to avoid me panicking.. to hear you say “HL I cant move my legs” I knew it has come to worst.. I went on my kneels crying and praying to God.. fast forward after the famous match, right from the stadium I started asking God why… because that wasn’t his promises.. everyone around me tried to console me… few min later I started receiving death threat, keyboard warriors cursing my children, they called me witch and all sort of names… I remember someone even made a comment on instablog saying how I lost a child etc… some so called celebrity actress, musicians posting trash on Twitter to insult u, knowing fully they are on the same table… so I said to myself ENOUGH!! You ain’t going to play with the super eagles anymore… Few months later, you got a call from the coach, I was so pissed and I said if you go there, you ain’t seeing us anymore your MOG had to call to convince me that God is preparing a table for you in the presence of your enemy.. Fast forward TO the AFCON qualifiers we prayed and God heard our prayers, the world celebrated u as the highest goal scorer for the qualifiers…and today we celebrate you as you have left a blue print in the just concluded tournament in Egypt… Winning the golden boot isn’t just what I’m happy for, but proving to the world no one can FIGHT GRACE. You are blessed my Hero IN & OUT football you’ve proved you are a destiny child on assignment ❤ NENE gave birth to a true Champion

I also want to use this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to coach Gernot Rohr who in all never gave up on you”

The story which shows a transition from pain to joy, also gives a hint to the reason behind Ighalo’s retirement. Ighalo called time on his national team commitments after finishing as the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations’ top scorer with five goals.

https://www.brila.net/ighalos-wife-sonia-celebrates-husbands-retirement-from-national-team/

So Ighalo was injured before the Argentina match? Showed no signs to me, true warrior.

If Ighalo was not fit, he should not have played.

Thanks for this info bereft but insults but evidence

I had actually thought that the arrangement was for the WC 2018 alone.

The question remains. Should Rohr decide to resign, would aiteo be responsible for paying off the 1m dollars clause?

If Rohr resigns, he gets no payoff. It means he terminated the contract. However, if he is sacked, that would mean the NFF terminating the contract and Aiteo would have to pay him his payoff.
