Okay. My background is in the non teaching aspect of education. I got my masters and post graduate diploma in the UK in education and career guidance, and have experience working in a college and school there for 3.5 years. My fear is the language because of my field started learning German but haven't really gone far.

You have to check each job description to see if they require German language proficiency. You can start applying for jobs from Nigeria as some companies help with relocation (if they really like you). I will also recommend starting German classes in Naija before you travel. It's cheaper and it will help you integrate better and get many more job interview invitations. B1 German proficiency and above is usually required for most jobs.

You can print the page showing the results and take it as part of your supporting documents for your interview at the German Consulate in Naija.

I was told that I would hear back from them in within 4-8 weeks but I heard back from them in a week, so you never know. If you are in Lagos, I would also recommend asking the protocol officers outside the German Consulate for guidance. Nothing to lose at this point.

yea you can get, there are lecturing jobs ( i have seen that in during one of my search it was for anyone who could speak English but can't remember the site) there are also teaching jobs in international schools.

Try and make a lot of research on your field to ascertain the areas you are eligible to apply but i am sure you will find.

Learning the language is good even if it isn't required please learn it.

I think you need to show proof of 4320 EUR in a blocked account. That's 720EUR per month for 6 months since the visa is valid for 6 months.

So I have decided to book the appointment too which is the first thing I am doing. Yes it wrote 14-16 months but hopefully it is not long. I thought you booked yours in February? Anyway like you said do other things in process which is the plan.

Thank you. I think everybody's story is different. I had some personal issues which resulted in the delay. Generally, it shouldn't take that long but it truly depends. Most people got jobs before they even came to Germany.

Once you get a job, you just apply for a work visa with the German authorities and that is it. Very straightforward once you get a job.

Many you say? Bro, it's not easy getting a job in germany from Nigeria o. But I get sha.

Sorry for derailing a bit... I'm trying to apply to some German universities for preparatory course but it seems most of them universities won't accept anyone without at least A1 and A2 German certificate... Is it same for all universities in Germany or i haven't dig harder? Please advice

From their requirements, they say the job you get has to be related to your qualification and work experience. Even if you want to be a masseuse, you need to show proof that you have the certification for that.

togobingi, thanks for updating the thread, have been following up with this thread for a very long time but I'm still skeptical about my move tho... Please I want you to enlighten me, I am a graduate of Agricultural science in which I major in Economics but I'm currently in entertainment DEPT. Can I get a job seeker visa and look for Agricultural related job over there as I don't have experience in my field for now only the intern period. Please I need your advice on this.
