nurey:Changed oil and filter today. A leak in the exhaust pipe was detected and fixed. Obviously, that's the main cause of the fuel drain. On a full tank now and closely monitoring it. Thanks |

Gazzuzz please I need your help. Yesterday while driving (Hyundai sonata 2011), I suddenly heard a strange noise. I pull over to check and to my surprise I discovered that my Coolant reserve container was seriously boiling out Oil mixed with the coolant. The boiling pressure, so I decided to start the car again to check the temperature, the temperature gauge was normal but I tried to push the engine and immediately the the gauge crossed the normal line and entered the half way mark. I allowed the car to cool and cleaned up the radiator cap and coolant reservoir of oil, filled some water and manage to drive home. Today I checked my engine oil and it has gone down, obviously it was the engine oil that mixed with the coolant. Please what do you think is the problem and how do I go about repairing this. Thank you so much. |

etebefia: you have a long road to recovery. First all elements that caused the overheating have to be replaced and fixed (radiator, fans ) then the big job. Aluminum engines don't fare well with overheating, you will have to rebuild the present engine (not DIY) you will need a technician that has access to a machine shop to rebuild the head cylinder. good luck |

Please look at the attached picture, it's like the white opening is supposed to go inside the black. Secondly, please my car goes off wherever it enters inside pools of water. Stopped like 10 times yesterday night when rain was falling. Is this normal please or what can I do? 2003 Camry, 4cyl, mileage 114k ,

DecrossCFR: Am sure that your estimate is flawed somehow but if assumed accurate, your fuel consumption is seriously horrible even if the car is a v6. What you posted is about 10.6mpg. A 4 cyl of your car should be around 20mpg at worst. 1 Like |

GAZZUZZ please help, 05 Highlander recently seizes one of the back tire. It feels like something is dragging it, hence, the car won't move freely. I was thinking it's because of the numerous mud like water the car has entered but what do I know. 05 Toyota Highlander, 4cyl. |

Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by double3(m): 4:15pm On Jul 29, 2019 |
Stormyweather:Its easy to identify; take a look at ur rear wheels, disc brakes have this shiny looking metal plate behind the wheels. So confirm if all 4 wheels have the "shiny looking plate". |

Re: Maintenance Tips On Cars. by double3(m): 10:52pm On Jul 29, 2019 |
Stormyweather:U might have a stuck brake caliper, to confirm jack the suspected "dragging" wheel and try spinning the tires with ur hands (shift ur gear to N and deactivate ur hand brake).if too much effort is required to spin the wheel then a stuck caliper could be the culprit. Let us know how it goes the gurus can take it up from there. 1 Like |
