Halliruzyln: For those of you speculating that 1,250 people, that's about 35-40 people will be selected per state, and those mentioning about 3-4k people will be recruited. All of you guys are not far from the truth. NNPC really need more staff because of the exploration processes taking place in other regions in Nigeria and the massive retirement that's looming the corporation next year. It is said that only 1,250 from the successful candidates among the over 7k people invited will be recruited now, the result for the remaining successfuls will be used later for another recruitment probably next year, because according to NNPC, to place another advert, conduct another CBT and interview the selected candidates is not economical, hence they will still be using the results for this interview next year. But na Nigeria we dey, anything can happen along the line. Note: I'm not forcing this on anyone's head. You have your own right to either believe or disbelieve with my info. Have a nice weekend This kinda makes sense to me tho. Anyways i pray i be among the first Apl batch biko 2 Likes |

That number is outrageous but people will be seconded to NLNG. I was asked during my interview that since I had experience from NLNG whether I will like to be seconded. Most of the interview questions came from a Project I did during my Internship at NLNG. No doubt NNPC staff get seconded to NLNG -those that attended the coaching organized by my career firm, JarusHub, will remember I said it in each class. But it is not an NLNG project that will make NNPC suddenly increase new recruits from planned 1300 to 5000. Not even to 2000 is plausible. Not even NLNG, the direct owner of the project, will recruit 3500 extra hands for a project. As a matter of fact, oil and gas projects are handled by specialized external contractors called oil servicing companies with supervision and collaboration with internal resources. If that internal resources is to be enhanced for a specific company, it wont be recruiting 3500 new staff. What happened to such staff after end of project when you move to operations phase? Lay them off? Keep paying their salaries for 7 years before you have another project of such scale? That is the reason there are specialized firms for that - oil servicing firms - who can move such employees (project) to another company's/client's projects when one project is completed, and who pay lower salaries than asset owning companies, and who are the quickest to lay off during downturn in oil and gas industry when they are not getting enough projects. If at all NNPC (which is not NLNG and will only second) is going to increase their planned staff intake because of a new NLNG project, it wont be by more than 200 new people. And secondment to NLNG from NNPC involves high level politics. Doubt a new recruit will get this. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Halliruzyln: Still about the access bank conspiracy theory. I contacted my legit source/sauce at the NNPC towers, he told me that most of the people considered for the next phase of the recruitment were those that had their interviews on 2nd of July, because they have the overall best performance in the whole interview. I can now see the reason why most of those interviewed on that day didn't received their tf. Congratulations brothers and sisters in advance. See you during documentation. But I did mine 10th, no alert. Sometimes payment mustn't be thesame time for all. I once marked WAEC 2018, I was paid immediately the next Monday, others waited for extra weeks. 2 Likes |

Gbriels: Do the maths.... 39 panels and 20 interviewees at least per day(that same 2nd,the guy that ushered us in said the list for each is 20persons at 5persons per session.... But due to unequal time spent with each person and other factors,u have clashes of sessions... Thus.... assuming the above We have number of invitees per day to be 39 *20 = 780 And total invitees to be 780 * 9 = 7020 Please whenever analysis on the number of panels is done, always remember that we have GT and EH. Panel 13 of GT is different from panel 13 of EH. The number of those interviewed is way more than 7,020. |

MRtristan: My interview experience was quite interesting, I wanted to be noticed by anyone interviewing me, so I mentioned in my CV how the company I work for (a Tax investigation Firm) recovered unpaid Taxes (hundreds of millions of $) for the FGN from oil servicing and man-power companies in the oil and gas industry :
6 of us were called from the theater, the secretary or HR rep was a beautiful lady, she asked for our CV’s and left. Minutes later she came back and asked “who is ….” I answered, she smiled and said “in your CV, you said you like meeting people, is that true?” LOL I was shocked, I couldn’t remember writing that because I wrote some portions years ago, whenever I updated it, I never bothered about those parts, she noticed I was contemplating and said “ I hope you did all those things you mentioned in your CV” and left. Sharply, I started browsing my CV and memorizing the parts I never bothered myself with while two guys were ushered in before me.
I greeted all the panelist and was asked to take a seat, the chief panelist introduced everyone to me and asked me the almighty question TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF. I explained in details my job position, what my company does and kept linking my experience with what NNPC required in their key competencies. I spent close to 5 minutes explaining all these. They asked the software’s we use, how we protect our data, how many projects we were currently working on etc. I was asked IT questions such as what is malware, software bug, programming, how many languages can I program in, what programming project have I worked on, name the 7 layers of the OSI Model which I couldn’t remember but they shrugged it off by saying with all these years as an analyst you wont remember much about networking.
The HSE question caught me off guard, I was asked to explain how my office practices safety, LOL, lord knows we don’t do nothing on safety in my company, luckily, I was able to use their office as reference, I talked about office light to be easy on the eye, well leveled tables and chairs for comfort, tried to stop there but they kept pressing for more, so I remembered the TV in the theater and explained how we are being told in my office to exit via the stairs instead of the lift in case of fire and also taught how to use the fire extinguisher, sharply one of them just asked if I can teach them too, lol I just told them that I don’t listen to the explanation much because I pray to God never to experience fire outbreak, they all laughed and felt satisfied with my answer.
I was also asked to explain a difficult situation I faced, told them about a client that needed an arduous job done in 3 days and how I met the deadline by using extra man hours and delegating other team members and mentioning their skills used in accomplishing the task. The panel chairman decided to give me a nick name “The Data Man”, I was smiling but deep inside, I was like “I hope say no be washing be this”. Then they said I can ask a question, I inquired what was the next stage, they said the interview was the final but medicals was needed to know if fit for NNPC and security check will be done to know if you’re a yahoo boy…lol I raised my hand up and said “sir, I have never stolen in my life (inside me, I remember stealing meat from kitchen sha lol)” they all laughed and kept saying “the data man”, they thanked me and told me that was all, I thanked them also and left.
The secretary saw me out and silently told me “you did well”, I thanked her too and she went back in. I shook everyone waiting for their interview wished them good luck and left.
Finally, my favorite saying “Life is hard, but it’s harder if you’re stupid”, I do wish to work in NNPC but if in the end I do not get it, I move on. As a matter of fact, I am working on a personal website project which involves publicity, currently 90% done, I will drop the link here soon for anyone who wishes to join and its free.
I was asked the same question on osi model, after listing the seven layers from the top to the bottom, they asked me at which layer does the router work and I gave them the answer which is the network layer(layer 3). They probed further by asking me what's the function of a router. Lol I smiled in my mind because I have practical skills in networking and I am also very good in theory. I actually had some difficulties in the situational and behavioral questions, but I still gave them the answers the asked for albeit not swiftly. I'm hoping for the best. Please are you a GT or EH? I'm also good in php and MySQL.maybe we can know more about each other. 2 Likes |
