before we condemn, its good to do a research to know how much electriciry all countries in Africa generate.then cross check with population of nigeria.the more the population, the more electricity is needed to be generated. electricity is not just what you take money and generate within one day.some people just think that we have money and to generate electricity is just a day thing.i think our people need to be educated, electricity production involve lots of money and takes a continuous effort to reach the required production.its bad when some people are trying to build and some people are destroying.just like crude oil production can drop, electricity production can drop through vandalization and sabotage

Germany never colonized Nigeria. They didn't have much interest like other European countries in colonizing Africa, instead they were interested in ruling fellow Europeans, and as a result ruled Europe but lost their African colonies, except Namibia.

Germany will indeed keep their side of the bargain but your very fantastically corrupt politicians would mess up everything over the coming years.

Germany had colonies in Cameroon, Namibia, Tanzania and Togo. Even DR Congo, Rwanda and Burundi were originally owned by a Geman prince who later became the King of Belgium. The Germans were terrible colonist and committed genocide in Namibia. Nigerian can build Nigeria we just need to get the right people into governments and to develop a vision of industrial development.

Please shun negativity.

It is not the issue of negativity. It is about the deceit, the lies n the corruption that we live in. Nigerians No longer have confidence in their leaders, even PMB in his first term has travelled to places like Saudi, china, etc n has signed documents that we r still waiting to see it's implementation.

In the case of Nigeria, electricity is cheap, Nigeria has abundant gas, coal, hydroelectric reserves, Sunlight and Wind. So there is no cost to acquiring the fuel, the main problem is politics.

The government is working on a national electricity strategy when it should focus on regional strategies based on the abundant energy source.

Germans are serious people and don't play with con tract, if they signed a contract they will execute it and i believe they are transparent.i want to believe that our government know the implications of defaulting a german contract.its a right move by the Nigerian government and let's be optimistic that something good comes out of it.my only problem is that there are some bad people in Nigeria who will never want this project executed.some people are there who don't want any thing good to happen in the country .they are enemies of progress

My brother.......all my career I've been in the power sector. I'm getting out of it by God's grace and I'll turn down jobs in that sector.

I've seen German Companies frustrated. I've seen Serbians stuck for almost a decade on a project meant to last 2 years.

I've seen this same Siemens "outbid" by Chinese and Indians simply by quoting dirt cheap and bribing people then they start looking for slave labour to execute the works.

It takes more than German determination, my dear. A German company signed to engage me for a project, only for another company to bid like half of their contract bidding price!

These same people will be astonished when they face "Nigerian Factor".

You think say na by play Richard Branson pack Virgin Nigeria up run?

Trust me.

Dont deceive yourself,do you know what colonization is undecided. All these wont happen.
He is silly and talking from a place of ignorance, he should go and read about the brutal colonization of Namibia by Germany and the genocide of the Herero people, king Leopold of Belgium killed 10 million Congolese. How many French African countries are doing well despite still being defacto colonized by France till today only brutally exploited, whites will NEVER help you develop Africa because it's not in their best interest. The solution to your problems is in your hands not your historical enemy.

That may not be wise.

Look at the East German side of Germany. Some economic policies which the West Germans imposed on them for reunification of the country has made it a permanent economic backwater..

Indeed, I said Germany ''lost their African colonies, except Namibia.'' That should tell you they had colonies.

Talking about brutality, Germany was actually the most humane of them all, and that's why they lost their colonies because they didn't rule people into submission with iron hand like Britain. If Germany unleashed the same brutality as Britain and France, you'll probably have been speaking German now. Its for that reason that they maintained Namibia, when they realized to rule the natives, maximum savagery must be unleashed on them to bring them to submission. But it was already late.

The rule of thumb: The more brutal an empire, the more colony they acquired. The more humane an empire, the less colony they acquired.
