u well? Where's d excuse in my post? I said we all have diffrent power demand, how's that an excuse?

Kenya's power supply is 2100mw and lagos' power demand is 4000mw.

Get sense before vexing me abeg.

You are right.

Kenya currently has an estimated capacity of 2250MW, and are looking to expand to 5000MW by 2030. Meanwhile the power need for Lagos alone is over 5000MW. Yet some people are saying that kenya is developed.

For them to be using 2250MW and not experience power cut, it means the country is basically a glorified village, with very little Industry that needs power.

The long and short of my story is that Kenya is also basically a shit hole.
Inferiority complex will Sha kill some Nigerians

Most people just travel to the capitals of those mumu African countries and they start saying nonsense about how good those countries are.

Even a foreigner that lands in Nigeria via Abuja for the first time will think that Nigeria is an eldorado, because of smooth roads and well planned and arranged city. grin

abi o, Kenya is still 26% urban and 74% rural... their power demand will be small compared with Nigeria of 49% urban and 51% rural considering our big population.

Some people just decide not be dumb and daft alone but added a mixture of craziness into it.

Claiming that Somalia is better than Nigeria will not make Nigeria better.

Electing good presidents will.

I did not vote for buhari or atiku and yet I am defending the country.

Many of you that castigate this country still go ahead and vote for criminals and idiots, and you expect a miracle.

I understand you have been overwhelmed.

But apart from South Africa, obviously because of the whites, mention one subsaharan country doing better than Rwanda? Just 1.
you understand I have been overwhelmed? By what ? Your baloney? Or your geopolitical naivety?

Rwanda with an economic wealth of 27 billion dollars ranked 163 in the world....

With a 6 million workforce is a giant? Are you so poor you lack economic sense of measurement?

Do you understand Rwanda was enjoying what is known as an economic miracle?

How does economic growth makes one country a giant or even better than other countries who has passed where Rwanda is currentl

Do you know the meaning of giant? There are no giant African countries in East and Central Africa. Not technologically, not economically, not militarily, not in industry.

Rwanda is like a child, learning how to walk, development will be fast because there's so much to learn and so much to fill up.

Once again, where are you from?

Your worldview is totally admirable grin

Kenya is the size of Niger state

If i isolate Uyo and Abuja which corresponds to Kenya in geographically, then Kenya becomes very underdeveloped compared to those places.

You are not correct at all on this. Kenya is a big country geographically.

This is a stupid excuse imagine they needed the same amount of power Nigeria needs do you think that they would not be able to produce it, a village or not they've been able to cater for their citizens that's development not silly excuses, this is what is taking us back we think we are still the giant when the film finish our eye go clear.

There are things that drives development and Nigeria is lacking now unlike the past, I was surprised Niger Republic has 24hrs light they may be poor now but there's room for development, look at the speed Ghana is developing

Those state you mentioned is their standard of living high over there or just electricity we take a look at everything...

Villages and rural areas enjoys electricity compared to the city. One of reasons is because it under developed and the consumption rate is poor over there.

Let me ask a question. Can you compare the most developed state in Nigeria in all areas. Electricity, food health care ect. With Kenya?

Nairobi would beat Lagos hands down in terms of infrastructure and planning. I have been there and was surprised. one thing I noted is their capital being controlled by foreigners. There is a strong Indian presence is Nairobi and the indigent Kenyans work for them (Sorry to say more like slaves). There is a level of discrimination from my personal experience.

The most developed city in Kenya I'd Nairobi.
With the YouTube videos I have seen of Nairobi, it is just a less populated Lagos.
Abuja is better by a long mile.

Most of the benefits countries like Ghana, Kenya have over Nigeria is because of significantly less pressure on public infrastructure.
That is why life seems easier and better. Even electricity demand can be traced to population and geographical size.
That is why India still suffer power cuts.

If you compare low populated States like Akwa ibom or cross river or even Abuja with these countries, you would find our there is no real difference.

Akwaibom, Delta ,Bayelsa, Rivers, Niger Lagos, have the capacity to generate 24 hrs electricity for their States non stop if they feed it to their States only.
Many parts of akwaibom already enjoy almost 24 hrs light.
You want to make your comparison based on YouTube videos? Come on. I have been to Nairobi and I was surprised, if you want to bring in the issue of population then suffice to say they have more high rise buildings than Lagos which baffled me. I think where this east and South African countries have sway is the fact that they have indigenous whites who due to the nice climate built the place for their abode. Nairobi to be fair can be called an international city. The capital is full of foreigners.

I’ve been to Kenya 4 times in 2 years.

What aspect do we surpass them except in population and meaningless GDP that does not translate to better life for the people of Nigeria??

Through out my stay in Kenya, I didn’t experience a single power outage. Through out my life in nigeria, I’ve never had 1 week of uninterrupted power.

Is it security?
Is it roads?

Beyond Nairabi, Mombasa is so beautiful... kisumu and malindi are equally better experience than my whole life in Nigeria. Don’t knock it if you haven’t been there bro. Go and see and be proud of our fellow Africans.

I have been there too. These our Naija brothers no go gree. The first day I landed in Nairobi, I was ashamed of Nigeria. Truth be told.

This child "learning to walk" has better steps than the touted giant of Africa.

You gave very good facts, but my joy is you didn't negate my point.

I said Rwanda is a 'giant', I never assumed that it was a major power or anything. That is a separate matter.

Economic miracle or not, the country is the only Sub-Saharan African country that is in the 21st century.

So I ask you again, what country is greater than Rwanda today!

Kenya has a landmass of 580,367 km ². Nigeria has about 923,768 km². For Kenya to be the size of Niger state, that means Niger State accounts for more than half the landmass of Nigeria.

You see how unintelligent you have made yourself in a bid to seem savage. Kenya is not as small as y'all think. It's the 48th largest country in the world with over 52million people. That's one quarter of us. That's huge. Kenya is not a pushover. We should stop being proud over nothing.

How is a 27 billion dollar economy country termed a giant?

A country not even on the top 10 African list of economiclly prosperous or industrial or technological giants in the continent.

Please if my response deosnt negate your baseless post,I wonder how you reason.

I know the least country in the 10 African economies is having around a 55/60 billion dollar economy. So I can very well guess where Rwanda is.

And I keep wondering what does a 27 dollar country by begin to measure weight grin grin grin grin cheesy

Let us keep deceiving ourselves.

There's nothing good about Nigeria. The money we see in a year, Kenya cannot see it in 10 years. But what do we have? Kenya has steady supply that we can't boast of, and you're here defending it. Shame. Let them earn quarter of what we earn, and see if they won't further develop their country.

Don’t mind those that are judging based on what they read online or on YouTube. I had the same perception until I visited. I was ashamed and sad, because we could easily be better than what we are, given our resources. I can’t wait to visit again, and if I have everything figured out, it’s a place I’ll gladly relocate to.
