Mkenya2019:Power rationing can happen due to many different factors like faulty transmission etc.As I said before, our railway will use a separate gas power plant.A country like south Africa has many blackouts in the past, but they managed to keep their trains running. We can do better |

Power rationing is different from brown outs or black outs. Its load shedding because of sustained low power supply.South Africa is in that mess now but they have what 30-40 thousands megawatts of power. You trains will be stalling mid-way. Our diesel train ran at 120km per hour...still very decent speeds. Kazikazi: |

Mkenya2019:You are still don't get it. I said power rationing happens because of different factors like faulty transmission. In case of SA, they did in this year due to faulty transmission lines which were affected by cyclone idai in Mozambique, so they couldn't import enough power from Mozambique. You don't have a train running at 120 kph.otherwise prove it! Our trains will cruise at 160 kph from Dar es salaam to Rwanda all the way to Doctor Congo who taught u basketball. |

You excel in asking stupid questions that google can easily resolves...Electricity production was dominated by large hydro power plants until recently. However, due to extensive droughts in the country further exacerbated by a focus on generation from only two rivers, their contribution to total supply has fallen dramatically. This has forced the utility to use extensive load shedding, thermal power plants for base load and emergency power installations at considerable financial cost. This situation has led to an active promotion of further utilisation of natural gas in the medium term and a desire for a broader mix incorporating further renewable energy resources including wind, geothermal and sol Acadavah: |

Power rationing is long term - nigeria kind of mess - you had it recently - south africa had it - too.Dont confuse it with black outs or brown outs - which are emergency short term issues. Last time we had it in kenya was i think drought of 2001!. You over-reliance on hydros means drought knock off your power. Kenya trains run at 120kph. I have used it severally. Kazikazi: |

Mkenya2019:Is your head running on empty tank? Where did you get the idea of power rationing to mean a long term shortage? Dude,a rationing means as it says...rationing power! Weather is due to faulty lines,or less generated power that don't counts. The point is a grid gets less power while the demand is higher. In Tz,most power is produced through gas plants. Even our major factories are using underground piped gas to run their productions. Dangote cement is connected to piped gas, coca cola and others are using piped gas too! Your diesel locomotive crawls around at a max of 80 kph |
