It was not stressful when we did it from 2015 till 2017. Having a defined thread actually helps to keep such threads focused on the title of discourse.

So even if we do create an U-23 thread, I dont think it would be stressful. Besides, these threads are all archived in NL database by sections.

At this rate,if u create another u-23 thread, people won't visit it that much.. the u-20 and u-17 threads u created have been inactive for long now.. even during the women world cup, this thread had more discussion on the super falcons than the women NT thread...
Most people are already used to this thread and won't find it necessary to be moving between threads to discuss matters that are more or less the same... I mean a good number of those u-23 players are potential super eagles players...

the Dutch league is the worst in terms of what exactly?
Abi u are being sarcastic??
A league that has produced 6 champions league winning teams and has always produced some of the world best players!!
No i'm not
The dutch and scottish league right now are ranked at the same level although that has to do with uefa's brinksmanship anyways

Oga not everyone is an ardent follower of Nigerian football, so what is saying is new to a whole lot of us because many ignorant Nigerians believe that we can gather 11 world beaters straight from our league.

Which in reality its a fantasy.

What Collins has done is to bring to the fore(and by extension to the world) in one concise piece, a summary of our inherent football problems and solutions.
Does that really connote football problem, most of Argentina, Brazil even Belgium team consists mainly of foreign based player

The reason the U-17 and U-20 threads stayed inactive is because I was basically the only one providing news there and once I went absent for months, it was bound to suffer inactivity. No one took up the task of keeping it running. People will always visit a thread that is updated.

Also, people were already used to many previous threads we opened and we still moved on.

It is not a bad idea keeping this thread running. I don't mind at all but saying another thread will be stressful is what I don't agree with because I and the older custodians here have moved on from previous threads with success.

This thread is our longest ever on record and that is possibly why you and some others feel we should not consider another thread.

In that case this thread should carry The Dawn of a new era and the roads to Tokyo 2020, Afcon 2021, & Qatar 2022. Chikena.

Sorry but i disagree with collins udoh
It's not about the players but the coaches
We just don't have excellent coaches or the structure to produce them(please dont call N.I.S)
Ajax thanks to the cryuff plan implemented after the defeat to madrid in 2010 have become relevant in europe again
Rohr is not the coach to take nigeria forward

Is leaving for greener pastures suppose to DRAIN the league? Isn't it this just a buttress of the dearth in the league? How is it that less than 3-5 players leave the league and it altogether becomes dull at once.

Do the Belgian,Danish league etc not get a talent drain but replenish just as quicker? Why don't we have same here?
The big truth is our leagues is nothing to write home about, The Belgian league is dominated by non-belgian. Hazard and co left Belgium very early

There are enough players in NPFL to replace ighalo and mikel(who to me are bang average)
Dont get carried away by ighalo's golden boot,he was awful in afcon and only other teams' lack of strikers aided his feat(pls dont call mane, salah cuz they were worse)
If u dont give players a chance u won't know if they are good enough
Fergie sold hughes, kanchelksis and ince and replaced em with scholes, butt and beckham
Man u fans were asking for his sack yet today those names are legendary in MUFC
Another bloke said the quality is not the same as in the 90's but that is a lie
Qualitycan never hide,it just needs nuturing and guidance instead of calling every foreign based nigerian
Mention a single player in the Nigeria league that can operate in our midfield

CR9 left but that didn't diminish the value of players coming from the Portuguese leagues.

The bulk of the senior team started their careers from Portugal.

Our league is crap due to poor management and corruption. It may take 20 yrs of hard work to build a quality league.

But in Naija, as soon as leadership changes hands, the new guard tends to put down and destroy the work of the old guard and thus, there is no continuity.

So give or take, it will take 100 yrs to build a quality NPFL
Most of them left before they even start for their senior team.

In the past, you can argue 90% but that trend is changing rapidly. Our national team is dominated by under 17 players who never played in the league and players from the diaspora.

The quality produced by the league has dropped drastically. Can you compare the likes of Odey and Lokosa to Finidi George, who went straight to a champions league winning side or Amokachi. Look at our performances in Africa.

Coaching is one problem but i do not think scouting is properly done either. Academy players have achieved more success in recent years than NPFL players.
Apart from that, most of those Players move aboard after stardom

Una forget when Oliseh use one homr based sed player bench Mikel.
Im kind of in the middle in this argument. I think when we talk about long term replacement we won’t find such in the domestic league. Players in the league can outshine some of our regulars for one match or two, but give them a run of games and u will see where the quality reality lies. NPFL players need Europe to get polished. the NPFL is too poor to make them better players. Until we improve our league, the situation will not change. I believe there are talents in the rough, if not in the NPFL, In the NNL. Many Domestic league coaches are too lazy to scout and develop players. They are just busy recycling known players

NPFL HAVE NO PLAYERS TO REPLACE THOSE ONES

There are diamonds in the rough. And they can’t be top quality until they get tested in better leagues under the tutelage of good coaches.

Isn’t Ali one of the recycled players? He is one of the best among the crop. My initial post has already treated this.
CHAN Eagles is usually handled by the same domestic league coaches with the same mindset. Do they really look for the best?

Where is Onobi at the moment?? Look the likes of Siasia and Amodu were not stupid when they said what they did about our league.
These guys have played and coached in the NPFL. Why would they want to bad mouth it??
The quality of the NPFL is not high. As at now - the best bet is getting players from the academy before they play in the league.

In the past decade our academies have exported more players to europe than our npfl clubs. these exports makes almost 70% of the current super set up.

the likes of awaziem, iheanacho, ndidi, success, moses simon, samuel kalu, dennis, okereke, awaziem, onuachu, oshimeh, chukwueze, esiti, mikel agu just to mention a few are all from various academies in nigeria.
