Me: Good morning sir, I passed my passport and i20 immediately.
VO: Oh i20?
V0: You're going for your masters degree?
ME: Yes sir
VO: Oh chemistry?
ME: Yes sir
VO:When did you graduate from school?
ME: 2014
VO: So what have you been doing since then? I mean after you finished your undergraduate.
ME: I have been working, but before that, I ensured I observe the national youth service corps. Currently I work with Iwobi Nigeria limited as a fertility chemist.
VO: Is this company going to sponsor you?
ME: Not at all sir
V0: So how are you going to sponsor your trip?
ME: I already have a dean scholarship, then my uncle will cover the rest.

VO:Shocked (when he heard the scholarship) He quickly glance through my i2o to verify, Ok! So what does your uncle do? He's a real estate consultant, a property professional. He buys, sells and market properties of every description from lands, luxury apartment, flats to estates and industrial complexes.

VO: Please can you tell me why you choose this school? Looking straight into my eyes.
Me: The first and foremost factor for selecting this school was because of the amount quality research currently going on in the department which is closely similar to what I did in my undergraduate studies. I want to learn more and be part of the research group, the aim of this research is to synthesize marine natural product and their analogues for the design of drug molecules like antibacteria and anticancer chemoterapeutc agent. I'm already in touch with Professor Pier Cirillo and he's willing to absorb into his research group. Besides this, I will have access to the latest technology provided by bergami learning center for science, innovation and technology were ground breaking innovations in chemistry are carried out, innovations like design of drugs to eradicate leukemia completely, you know leukemia is a very deadly diseases? And another one again is to cultivate plant using hydroponic technology, most of the chief ingredients used in the pharmaceutical companies are derived from plants, this time around I will be learning how cultivate plants in water rather than soil. I'll also learn how to convert dead plants, waste materials into biofuels, you know our crude oil is drying up gradually? So I'll be bringing this into the gas and oil sector.
VO: Tired of listening and looked straight into his system.
ME: I'll not keep my mouth shut, after all I talk very fast(In my mind). And again the courses the faculty provides is different from the usual traditional masters program, were bioinformatics, computational modelling, biomedical polymers are not incorporated into the core curriculum, this program is a very dynamic one, it integrates different discipline to make a curriculum.
VO: Focused his eyes again at me, perhaps, enjoying what I was saying.
ME: I never finish oh, the school uses the tegrity learning approach as well, were I can always download audio and video after class for review.
VO: So what are your plans after this degree?
Me: After I must have gathered enough skills required to accelerate my career. I intend to return to the country and apply as a quality control specialist in a pharmaceutical firm ,food and beverage domain, Regulatory agency. I might report or resume (I can't figure out what I said here.)at association of, oh sorry, Nigerian bottling company were I interned as a lab analyst. As a matter of fact their is shortage of man power in quality control, because a bulk of the current labour force lacks knowedge in cut
VO: I'm approving your visa, he threw my 120 and white paper at me, my passport went straight to the tray.
ME: looking at the passport in the tray, Was still in awe, Is that all sir?
VO: Yeah
ME: That was how I picked race, I couldn't even locate the exit.
Thank you Jesus, coz you kept to your word. I wouldn't have gotten this with out your hand.

Send me a PM let's talk. It was God, taking UNH to embassy with that kind of deficit. I knew I needed to do P&F. The P&F really worked for me. How soon are you even leaving?

Please house its very good that we are posting transcripts and almost all the transcripts i have been seeing are all positive. But it is also very important to enlighten those of us that do not know how to go about applying to schools and getting full or partial funding. Let's try and make it easier for those that are yet to apply to schools by stating;

1. The university that admitted you

2. How you went about the application process, in other word if you paid application fee or unofficial transcript is accepted. Because some of us that are here including myself don't really have enough money and that one of the purpose for which this forum was created, to render assistance when needed.

3. GRE, TOEFL or GMAT score.

Thank you and God bless.

Visa status: Approved(8:15am) on 24/07/19
Consulate: Lagos

Sex of VO: Male
Window2
Scholarship: 40%
Deficit: 24,657
Issued: 26/08/19

Walspring:

Your visa is valid for 2 years and if you defer before leaving the school and is not over a year you don’t need to apply for another visa again.

But contact US embassy to find out if the rules has change or not.

Lastly the nunber you sent to me via email, I thought it’s for you because I called it and the person say he didn’t know auditmonkey your user name.

@walspring, please kindly check your mail. Thank you in advance for the sevis payment

Hello, I’m also an aspirant for the fall program in IUP. Was it in Lagos you had your interview please?

Hi @fairheart, please I need your help. My visa got denied this morning and here is my transcript.

School: Indiana University of Pennsylvania
Session: Fall 2019
Venue: Lagos Embassy
Program: MSc Geography

V.O: Good morning
Reply: Good morning

V.O: Pass me your passport
Reply: I did

VO: How did you get to know the school, IUP?
Me: (this was my planned answer) I got to knownof the school through 2 acquaintances of mine (which wasn’t true) then she gave me the shocker....

VO: What are their surnames?
Me: I actually didn’t prepare for this so I just kinda gave her two random names.

VO: she typed on her pic and was like she couldn’t find those names in her database...
Me: I was like that’s strange cos they actually studied there....

VO: Why do you wanna study Geography?
Me: (at this point, I was already destabilized as a result of the failed name ish) I gave an answer about my main area of concentration being environmental planning and how this would help checkmate the harmful excesses of urbanization. But wasn’t feeling the session again but just kept hoping.

VO: How many schools did you apply to?
Me: 3 schools, IUP, Western Illinois University and Texas Southern University....(although I applied to just one)

VO: Did you gain admission in all?
Me: Yes, I did

VO: what’s your GRE score?
Me: I didn’t take any tests as they were a requirement for admission for the program.

VO: What do you do?
Me: I work as a quantity surveyor in a construction company.

VO: Who is sponsoring you?
Me: My eldest brother

VO: What does he do?
Me: he works as the head of projects in a telecoms servicing company.

VO: Do you have an account statement?
Me: Yes, passed it. (She looked through and typed on her pic for a while)

VO: Sorry, you ain’t eligible for visa at this time.
And that was it.

Please I really need your advice..... if I reapply, how would I remedy the “how do you know about IUP” question and in what other ways can I make my general case more convincing.

Kindly help a brother.... thanks in anticipation...[/quote]

Brother, how do you want to be assisted? My question is why did you lie? We are the ones making things difficult for us, making these VO's device means to access Nigerians. Even thourough Google Search mention alone would have been enough.

My advice is this: dust your feet and when next you go for visa appointment, be sure to tell the new VO the truth. You really don't know the remarks the VO left on your portal.

So many things were wrong with your answers. You should have read this thread very well before going for your interview. Telling a VO that you heard about the school from acquaintances does not make sense. It means you didn't so any personal research online yourself where you have google, Mastersportal, Education USA.

Also, you should write the GRE before your next Visa interview. It gives you a voice when you are talking to the VO.

Lastly, your reasons for wanting to study Geography are not deep and sufficient. Those answers are way too shallow.
You have to dig deep bro. Read up on the research projects of other people in your area, be vast.
I just understood something about the US Consulate this year; if you prepare well, and you have the eight mentorship, with a good application, and God's favour, you will step out of the Consulate with a White Paper.
