Working Or Looking For Foreign Remote Software Developer Job As A Nigerian? by asco15(m): 9:11pm On Jul 26, 2019 |
Hello NL, I don't usually create thread but I am very serious with this. I'm full-time software developer working with a local software company in Lagos. I have been coding web applications for about 3 years now mainly using Angular, Vue or React for frontend and C# Asp.netcore and NodeJs for backend. Away from introduction, I got a contract job from a foreign company as a remote software developer this year and I work with them for 5 months before the contract ended. But I must confess that no matter how poor their pay is, since it's in $ dollar it's always worth it compared to what you will get doing even more tasks here in Nigeria. I have been looking for a similar job for a while now and all to no avail but I know NL is a big community and we will definitely have few software developers who work remotely too and may have info that can help me and others that are interested. So this thread is for Nigerian software developers working remotely for foreign companies. Please share with us on how you got the job, the process and what we can do to also get there. Share companies hiring remote and how to get the job. If you can recommend directly too will be good. We will like to hear from you. You will be helping a soul. Thank you in anticipation. |

Hi asco15, I am a full stack software developer with more than 4 years experience skilled in C#, ASP.NET CORE, ASP.NET MVC, PHP, jquery, ajax, bootstrap, html, css, js, MySQL and MSSQL. I work remotely for a UK based company that builds Software for the maritime industry, it has been a very nice experience because of the way work is planned, shared and executed. I don't get the pay check in $ because they have a working space here in Nigeria where we come and work from that handles the administration and payment stuffs while we support maritime software in other countries, have been working for the last 2 months on an app used by our client in Greece. In all is a better to work for Global companies than Nigerian. You have created a nice thread 8 Likes 1 Share |

iCode2: Programming is all about passion and self effort, you need to spend lots of personal time learning and practicing your self and then you need a mentor who already have years of experience in the game hence why people go and pay to learn because from the training center you can get a mentor who you can always call his attention when you are have some challenges. If you are thinking on how to start on your own this may help you emmyvet: 3 Likes 1 Share |

If you're serious, you can checkout www.toptal.com But from what I have seen, you probably won't make it. The quality of Naija programmers are mostly terrible, and most on NL are horrible. there are a few good ones and they tend to hang on twitter. Best of luck. 1 Like |
