Why are people making the dumping ground statement?

It is not like Nigerians can afford brand new cars. Is this not the country where people buy 2003 cars and call it "brand new"?

There will always be market (demand) for fairly used things. If they are clean title cars, we are good to go. This is me addressing the "dumping ground" talk.
govt can change it..Make those brandnew 2019 cars available and cheap

Suffering and smiling mode,
Nigeria is dumping where the people in it can't use their ideas to produce their needs despite the huge natural resources thus will be depending on finished goods from civilised country,
Therefore Nigeria is a third world country with majority illiterates

Can you afford a new car? Talk is cheap.
So u think foreigners buy new cars with the full payment at once.
The reason they can afford it is that they have average 3-4 years,if not even more to pay up.
If Nigerians had that kind of instalmental payment for new cars, many tokunboh owners now, would get one.

Most Nigerians can't afford brand new cars

So this is a welcome development.
It is only ur comment that's sensible to me.. Those people who are just shouting can they afford new cars should stop spewing nonsensical nonsense.. Those who will afford and can afford new are still there now so what's the big deal.. So people like Tinubu and other useless Polithiefcians and co will just wake up 1 day and desire for used cars with that the money they've embezzled when it's not that they are spending money in heaven

World's biggest automotive market, China, has commenced the export of used cars to Africa, Asia and Europe, with Nigeria among the destinations for the first batch of 300 cars.

According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, the first batch of the 300 exported used cars, which comprises brands from Land Rover, Toyota, Hyundai, Volkswagen, Trumpchi, King Long, Yutong, Zhongtong and WOHO, have a total value of $2.5 million.

They second hand cars are being taken to destinations that include the Lagos port (Nigeria), Sihanoukville Autonomous port (Cambodia), Rangoon Port (Myanmar) and Vorsino and Saint-Petersburg ports (Russia).

Until now, the world's biggest automotive industry had been uninvolved in selling used cars abroad. A statement obtained from China’s Ministry of Commerce, said:

Nigeria has capable indigenous companies like INNOSON and the others that need favourable policies and strong governmental support to thrive.

Signing a pact with the Chinese government for used car importation isn't totally a bad idea because we all need the good life, especially if price is fair and quality is premium. But China has clamped down on used car buyers over the years. Buying exotic cars from the West isn't allowed in the Asian country and the government gives 101% support to local manufacturers and franchises.

Which way Nigeria?

Brand new car could be in instalments. That's what they do all over the world for those who could not afford it.

Not everyone can get facilities for installment payments even in your so called 'all over the world'.
Secondly, used cars are also bought 'all over the world' mostly by lower income earners.

Nigeria is a dumping ground, a consumer and not producer, the people of China do not have 2 heads, why is Africa/Nigeria now a dumping ground.

Are they even exporting to only Nigeria? Are the other countries dumping sites too?

China is saving less developed countries with their cheap products, but government should put measures in place to curtail any trade deal that will kill domestic manufacturing base.
