Emir of katsina
The Katsina Royal Palace 'Gidan Korau' is a huge complex located in the centre of the ancient city. It is a symbol of culture, history and traditions of 'Katsinawa'. According to historical account, it was built in 1348 AD by Muhammadu Korau, who is believed to have been the first Muslim King of Katsina. This explains why it is traditionally known as 'Gidan Korau' (House of Korau). It is one of the oldest and among the first generation palaces in Hausaland, along with Daura, Kano and Zazzau. The palace was encircled with a rampart, 'Ganuwar Gidan Sarki' (which is now gone). The main gate which leads to the palace is known as 'Kofar Soro', while the gate at the backyard is called 'Kofar Bai' (now gone). The Emir's residential quarters at the epicenter of the Palace is a large compound built in the typical Hausa traditional architectural style.[6] The current Emir of Katsina is Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.

Thanks for posting such a vibrant display of Culture and development news! :oThough I'm afraid the Kenyans here are unfamiliar with what having a Culture is. lipsrsealed

It will interest you that Nigerian governments have dedicated oil evenues into consumption while funds for infrastructure have had to be borrowed at an extra cost . In Nigeria, oil price boom is treated as a permanent shock and every downturn as temporary.

All the revenue is for Nigeria to consume; nobody cares about tomorrow, let tomorrow care for itself… kenya can understudy Ghana pattern for this.

cheesy

sharrap there.... Stop peddling falsehood.

There's excess crude account (ECA), that's where we deposit excess oil profit, it was our saviour during d recession, we depleted it from around $15b to less than $5b during recession period, reason we were d first country to exit recession in d world at that time and grow at over 2%, no other country that went into recession is growing over 1% right now! It's meant for complimenting economic affair.

We also have sovereign wealth fund which comprises of (i) stabilization fund: for supporting budget (ii) future generation fund and (iii) infrastructure fund.

Just sharrap if u know nothing about a particular subject on Nigeria.
What do you mean by first to exit reccession in the world and no other country exceeding reccession is growing at 1 percent ? south Africa was also in reccession just at the same time with Nigeria. and her reccession barely lasted for months. south africa current growth is around 2.0 percent to 1.8. Nigeria case wasn't exceptional. the cause of Nigeria reccession was also the cause of Nigeria quick recovery . the recent oil price and revenue was the bane of Nigeria growth. if oil price slump today at four consecutive quarters( Anythng around 40 dollars per barrel will send Nigeria back into reccession) Nigeria will simply go back into reccession. while it is commendable to say south Africa has birth a robust financial sector for her self in case of any loom danger, Nigeria rising inflation and pressure on the external reserves created by the capital flow reversal as the current challenges may quickly contribute to Nigeria fallen sharply back into reccession if oil price is not stable.

Yes there are laws that prescribe how revenues from oil resources should be managed, but successive Nigerian governments have dedicated such revenues into consumption while funds for infrastructure have had to be borrowed at an extra cost. this is a fact every right thinking Nigeria knows . it is a reported case that Nigeria former minister of petroleum resources ""Diezani Alison-Madueke"" had allegedly stole over 90 billions of dollars from the petroleum cash. how that is true, i really can't say since Nigeria generated revenue is far below that amount but anyway, it is a clear indication of mismanagement in petroleum sector.

Precisely. Nigeria only recovered because oil prices recovered.South Africa is a well diversified advanced economy.

And furthermore, south Africa financial sector remain healthy, robust and resilient despite the country sluggish economic growth. which simply means the cost and risk of producing and trading of goods and services will continue to reduce and thus makes an important contribution to raising the standard of living of her citizens.

I saw that - for a country of 200M - you're among the last. And those are just hubs. In terms of funding - last year - I think Kenya led.
Oga,it's not about population as others have corrected your glaring ignorance. It's more about tech savvy and Kenya is lagging as your chart shows.

Check the chart again. The only 1st tier countries there are Nigeria, South Africa and Egypt. They all have above 50 and are deep in color.

Kenya belongs to the group of Ghana and such minnows. If you want to be in the big league, you need to man up and stop using population as an excuse. tongue

It's the same with your tiny $56bn economy. grin
Now check your chart again and quit being ignorant:

Nigerians are even never known to be light-skinned. I always wonder where these idiots get the assumption. The average Kenyan is lighter-skinned than the average Nigerian. Nigerians are the most self-loathing Africans on this planet.

I am sorry but the whole world know that kenyans are extremely black as a burnt groundnut just the same way you are famous for your kikuyu-masai mara ugliness globally cheesy grin

SA never went into full recession when nigeria was in recession, they only had contracted or fluctuating growth. recession is when gdp growth rate is less than 0% and SA never had a negative annual growth rate.

Nigeria exited recession in Q3 of 2017 and if it was by oil price alone, oil producing countries ought to follow suit... which is not d case. SA rebounded in Q2 of last year.

SA is currently growing at 1.9% and nigeria at 2.1%. Simple wikipedia search.

i dont think there's need to repeat nor rephrase my previous post concerning how our revenue is spent cos I believe I've conspicuously treated that earlier.

Yes, there's grand monetary mismanagement in our oil sector, just as d case with most oil sectors around d world but ur case scenario is obviously contradicting itself.
