Ghana produces 405 million scf/d from its own oil and gas fields, and uses only 250 million scf/d, so Ghana doesn’t need gas from Nigeria. The only reason it will continue to receive gas from Nigeria is because it is a long term supply contract.

Most of the time, Nigeria supplies only 60 million scf/d or less, even though it is contracted to supply 120 million scf/d.

The country don't even talk about it anymore. the information minister was saying Ghana is using just 40 percent of the electricity of what she produce while 60 percent is going into waste. Ghana currently have over 6000 megawatts of installed capacity with about 90 percent nationwide coverage. over the past 1 month since I have been in the country my light has never blink. and funny i am not even in Accra nor any city . I am in remote part of the country.


this the new Gas complex below it was commissioned last week. it will be the think thank of how Ghana will administer her gas both at home and for export.
