mesh2003: Yes, Canada and the US share visa information. When trump came to office promising to tighten up immigration rules, there was a surge of Nigerian illegals from the US crossing the northern border to seek asylum in Canada. It was to the point where Canada specifically requested the US to tighten its visa eligibility requirements for Nigerians to stop the flow. It’s likely the US now views anyone who is rejected a Canadian visa (or withdraws it for suspicious reasons) to be automatically ineligible to enter the US. We should simply blame our selfish and lawless brethren. Those who caused this are safely enjoying themselves in Canada while the rest of you suffer the indignity of cancelled visas. 9 Likes 1 Share |

TWoods: Not just Nigerian illegals in the US but also Nigerian families flying to New York and crossing over to Canada. One of the reports I read then, specifically mentioned that about 70% of the people had newly issued visas which was one of the reasons the Canadian Immigration Minister had to visit in May of 2018 3 Likes |

Blink2: I know some people will advice you to go ahead and use your current visa for childbirth even though that wasn't the reason you told the VO that you will use it for when initially granted. You are taking a big risk that no one here can determine if it might affect your renewal in the future. So in order for you to have rest of mind and have a clear conscience it is better that you apply again for another visa which specifically you got when you told the VO that you were going to use it for childbirth in the US. I believe your chances of getting the visa will be high because the VO will know that even though you still had a valid visa for visiting as you stated to them you were honest enough to apply for the appropriate visa for childbirth. 5 Likes |

Blink2:It called b1/b2 ,and you already travel with it not once but twice, and you had this visa before you got pregnant so you can use it for birthing purpose just mAke sure you ur bills.and no need applying for same category of visa when you still have a valid visa!! |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 6 by Saskbound: 4:19am On Aug 02, 2019 |
B2 is specifically medical and you’re supposed to state that clearly these days. You pick B1/2 and specify B2 below it. And since she already has B1/2 she should mail the VO and take it from there. I hope she makes that intention clear before she departs. TWoods: |

evanehman:That's all. I've done it before. Used the Visa once before pregnancy. No issues at all. Just that some over sabi people will advise her to write Embassy like they owe u anything. How many times will they say it here. Change of intent letter no dey work again for VOs!!! I once did the change of intent letter and it helped me cos I was asked at POE but CBP officer only looked at it. Thank God I printed it. But more recent encounters say it doesn't fly again. At d end, just take d few useful advise from NL and do what's best for u. All d best. 2 Likes |

Blink2: Go ahead if you can afford paying undiscounted bills for the birthing, that should help during renewal. In the absence of that, kindly turn yourself in for a fresh B2 interview for the sole purpose of birthing in the US, a lot of financial capability to be shown still either ways.... 2 Likes |

Saskbound: Taaah!!! @Blink2; you see this advice? You can try to weigh what all others have advised you on here to help you make your final decision, but just pretend as if you didn't see this one, and don't ever touch it, it's full of venom oh. You write them that valueless letter and your visa is revoked, simple! 7 Likes 1 Share |

Hello everyone, Please I need ur advice on this: I had my baby in the US, Elpaso Texas precisely in 2015. The visa got expired in 2017 and I renewed it effortlessly via drop box , I was given another 2yrs visa then. Fast forward to 2018, I got the mail saying my current visa is invalid and that I should appear for a follow up interview, I went for the interview in Nov 2018 but unfortunately my visa was revoked based on d fact that the consular said my hosp bill was small Nd dt I was given a discount by the hosp. I really dragged with the consular cos I was never aware of any discount at the hosp and I paid the exact amount on my bill with Zero balance on my receipt. Unfortunately, my visa was revoked. I mailed my hosp d next day explaining the whole scenario to them and they responded to me with even an encrypted letter to the embassy stating that I did my self pay with no medic aid.Now I attached this letter as well as my own detailed composed mail to the embassy, I stated and quoted the VO’s statements during the follow up interview and I expressed how disappointed I was. I didn’t get any response from the US embassy until 3 weeks later, saying they appreciate my complaint and would like to inform me that such issues are not treated via email and that I should reapply and lay my complaints to the consular on duty by then I haven’t reapplied since then because I didn’t want to appear being desperate, but I have plans of reapplying next month. Now I need all possible advice on the reapplication, am I good to reapply or isthere anything else I should do before reapplying? Sorry for my long epistle 4 Likes 1 Share |

Hi House! Please, I need advice, my wife is going for her B2 interview soon. I am stated as her sponsor. Majority of the money proposed for the cost of birthing is in my company's account. Will it be right to transfer the money as bulk transfer to my wife's account? will the VO frown at bulk transfer? I was thinking of transferring the total amount budgeted from my company's account to her account, then write on the sponsor's letter that I am sponsoring and I have transferred the estimated cost to her. Will this fly? |

Thanks house, I have carefully read all the advice given. Though at some point I was confused. I appreciate all inputs and I intend to travel with the existing visa, come with a clean undiscounted bill, zero balance et al( hope I am not forgetting anything). The reason for this decision is... though I have a reasonable account statement, work ties and marital ties in Nigeria, having followed this thread I observe that they reject for flimsy reasons or at their discretion. I would be as honest as I should at the POE and come back to face the risk later. Probably trump is out by then or maybe not. Either way it would be a risk reappearing now or after birth. Thanks for the kind thoughts and replies again. 10 Likes |

Blink2: Everyones decision must be respected. Pls keep ur bill around 10k for vaginal 12/15k for c/s. Keep reciepts of scans, labs, immunizations. Stay away from texas and virginia. Most importantly mention at POE you are having a baby. Keep ur stay as brief as possible.....all d best. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Qei2u: You are far too kind...thanks. The hospital I am looking at Bill's about 12k vigina and 14k approximately for CS. I would mention that I would be having my baby and my reason would be for better health care than I could get back home and dual citizenship(should I leave that out?) Thanks Again house. |

Feeling so cold and sad, went for my interview yesterday, with mom, my 2kids (1 a citizen) and hubby. Was denied, the consular asked for the hospital reciept which was given bill as at 2015 was 4700 dollars or so for hospital bill So he saw that without asking for the doctor's reciept and he just said no we can't pay this for hospital bill. Without even asking for the new bill for the coming baby. Hubby said he heard him say u can't use this class of visa for child birth (b1/b2) was what we used before to apply. He didnt even ask for the new bills for the new baby we are about to go and have. In which the bill is about 10k sef |
