I currently have two ,04 and 03 and another 03 should be arriving next month.. Very good cars for uber. Just make sure u get a good one from the start .. Use the recommended oil 5w20 .. Never had any issue with the engine. Fuel economy is fantastic and it is mechanic friendly..

I'd like to purchase a good Toyota Corolla to give out for Uber. But I need one at a good price

Unfortunately am not a big fan of corolla ,the car is highly overrated.... That aside, corolla is very expensive to get at the auction due to the fact that Nigerians has made them expensive and the profit margin for me getting them for somebody is not worth it ..... And the Nigerians used are the write off from uber. If somebody is selling you naija used corolla ,shine your eyes ..due to the fact that according to most Nigerians corollas are very rugged .. Because of this highly crazy myth ,most owners dont maintain them .. No matter how rugged a car is , with the rite amount of abuse the car will not last long ... ..

I bought a car for close to a million naira and someone idots will want me to blow ac with five people then still give me 500 naira, I just regret ever stepping into this business, for the unemployed, I am sorry u got no choice but as for me, I will look for other type of business, I carried one olosho yesterday from ikorodu with the very bad road network to a place , she asked for music n ac to the total fare was just 1k, thisis supposed to be a premium service not just for rif raft, it's even. Better to do the yellow taxi than to do this ehailing ride, ithe beauty of it is that I am now a car owner back n I got a very fuel efficient matrix but for me after 5 days in the business of ehailing I will say I am done, I will look for something else to do, I just imagine if I have actually resigned my job face. Ehailing squarely it's just like death penalty , as for the car owners I understand what it's means to being out cash nbuy a good car with the hope of profits, those drivers are failing hell for those who say they make 70k a week at what expense the road network in ikorodu is extremely bad , I made 2k yesterday I don't know how much I will spend of the car today to fix the shocks , it's a crazy world out there , I now understand what the drivers are truly facing if I were just a driver who took a car from an investor some will call me lazy but no I saved up for this but I can always use the car for personal use then most of the people on bolt are ladies I mean the riders and they want premium service at almost no cost , I am done finally with ehailing,

I wasnt steady on the road for the whole one week cos its my car (Hyundai Elantra 2007) but each time i enter the road i net like 4k a day.
The first day was 2k (net) lol. I think in this business, u need to have a driving plan and know parking areas so u dont burn the rest of ur fuel looking for wer to park after dropping off a rider and also when to leave the island with destination trip if ur living in mainland and not blowing empty for 6-10km. Then I later discovered the quest on uber and am like 40 trips? When ever i net like 4k, thats about 8trips and if i continue like that, i can achieve the 40 i guess. But mixing bolt and uber now i dont see how possible that could be. So im asking if there are ppl making that 40trips or 30trips on uber and also meeting up with bolt and their bonuses cos i see these quests and bonuses are just the main way to max out ur profit.

Guy calm down. I worked with a multinational company with good pay and eventually lost the job about 7months ago. And to be honest this Ehailing is a life saver.

In this venture you just have to apply wisdom and strategic planning.
Before you go pick up a rider access the situation to know if it is worth it. Know areas with bad roads and negotiate with riders if they will drop without entering their street.

Did you read through his long write up?

His key concerns are the low fares compared with service delivered.

He also complained about the roads. Lagos roads are not in good shape.

Does Uber have immunity against bad roads and low fares?

Hmmmm, that's what I keep saying here only a driver partner understands how the job is.
Even the ones like the 20s that will come here to post dashboard will not tell the audience what's up, obviously they are spur on by car owners to protect their interest.

Boss where in unilag are they doing the drivers license?

Enter bus at Unilag main gate going to FSS (faculty of social science), tell the driver to stop you at FRSC office.

It's very close, as soon as the bus turns right to the FSS, just after the filling station, so you start looking out for it.

Personally I will never use a third party insurance, it is almost useless in Nigeria. Uber accepts both but I'll advice you get comprehensive driving in a city like Lagos.

You are somewhat on point boss, but if you follow the situation out here, you will agree wit me that what we all need is understanding. Let me use bolt lite as an example, when the lite thing came up, ppl on bolt always have a field day sleeping in dia car, it wasn't easy to get trip or meet up with bonus, so it tends to say the lower d price, the more drivers get request and the higher the price, d less drivers get request. Which will you prefer? Stay in your car all day and sleep till you can't sleep any more? What they could have done (both uber/taxify), is too spot hot areas where service is inevitable like malls and airport put a reasonable basefare like from 3/5k to any destination less from d regular taxi fare, while the normally reading starts from the basefare soh if you are going to phase 1 from airport, you are sure of 7/8k unlike the 3500 from airport to phase 1.

A lot of tinz have to b put in place, I just feel will have more cars and the company can't really help it but to keep reducing price, so they can accomodate everyone.

You analyzed it well, the area of bad road, maintainance of car, investor expectation to make or recoup there investment and make a profit too, also how riders want premium service for a little amount paid..

If it was a long trip they would have paid more, i guess its because it was a short trip. You see like every business these transport business aka cab service has been commoditised, so you make profit by volume..

Lastly my friend you have option thats why youre not staying long..some people here dont have any other means which you mentioned and i agree, some these is just a transit biz..

Lastly i think geting an education about these biz will be great you know. Get mentors that are in the game to teach you the secret...

Today, i am one WEEK old on uber. I have followed this forum for 3 years b4 i finally decided to take a bold step. I will like to share my experience.
I commend all d drivers on ehailing, the job is TEDIOUS. I have a 9-6 job and sometimes i close early. I bought a car that i intend to give out on rental/HP but i jus wanted to try it out first. Went tru all d reg process seamlessly. The truth is if u follow dis thread diligently you already have 99% of everything u need, less d experience. I enter road on friday for 5 hours and i did abt 4k net, after deducting uber fees/fuel. My corrolla seems to do btw 8k to 12k on 2k fuel. The second day, i did 14k net, i close at lekki almost 2am, i was getting bck to back so it was tempting, wifey was madt wen i got home so late. I completed I tink 15 trip and uber reduce fees to 3%.
After service on sunday, i got a trip to Abule egba frm ketu (3k), got a return trip to Mende in Maryland (1,800), i was shock cos i was expecting 2500 at least, though road was free. I finally close on sunday around 10pm wit 11k net, i did 2500k fuel. I pick some chinese in sheraton to ZEN restaurant in isaac john and my whole car was smelling so badly, thanks to fragrance wey i carry. On monday i resume at d office and d pain was REAL, serious body pain. Everyone notice i had a hectic weekend. After work on Monday i took a rider frm Palms lekki to Radisson Blu, it was jus 12 mins trip and fare shows 1,480 . i knew something was wrong but i don't know what. Rider flare up that she pays 650 on d first leg. I ask her to contact uber. She jus dey para, threw 500 inside d car and left, i almost loose my temper. immediately she gave me 1 star, note that i already have 23 five star on 26 trip. Then d next day i got a mail frm uber tht i have been flag for fraud, and immediately they suspend my promo. Up till now i dont know exactly what went wrong. The only tin i notice was that my uber map was showing d pick up location of the rider i took b4 taking d radisson blu rider, byt because i knw d drop off point, i did not use d map.
Na so uber bounce me for promo o, i only get 100 naira after each trip and 3% service charge. My Advice;
This job is not for d lazy, faint hearted, u need to chin-up.
Secondly, ur first target at d begining of d week is to reach d first 15 trip and reduce uber charges to 3%. The 25% is outrageous. By tuesday evening dis week, i have done 15 trip and on 3%.
Thirdly, dress neatly, clean ur car, clean YOURSELF. I have met some drivers and i felt so disappointed. I understand if ur car is dirty, due to d areas we ply, YOU should not be DIRTY. A lady entered my car and she said are u sure youre my uber driver, and i smile. At the end of d trip, i ask her if shes now sure am her driver. She said ALL uber drivers are always looking scruffy, i scold her for that generalisation tho.
Fourthly, my first 3 days I was accepting trip to anywhere, that was a MISTAKE. Some places are no go areas henceforth due to bad road; inside surulere, aguda, ijesha , idi araba after luth, part of lawanson, part of ikosi ketu. ISLAND remain d best place. For me, best place to get trip is Magodo, i hardly finish a trip b4 getting another. On d island is Admiralty.
For me, i HATE cash trip, riders are always Hyper when they are paying cash, less wahala if its card. Easy for me because i have some residual cash i can always use for fuel. So much to say.
At the end of my first week, i net 64k after ALL deduction, i owned my car. Someone showed 17500 on a 3500 fuel here. I got motivated and i did 17k on 3500 also. The job is abt determination and motivation. If its to keep body and soul together for a while, its not a bad job. PLS ALWAYS REST, i saw alot of drivers sleeping on wheels, i had to use my horn to wake some of them up! Pls always have enough SLEEP. I met some female riders too. I doff my heart for their spirit and huzzle. They're d real huzzler. Today, am resting at home.

Na so uber bounce me for promo o, i only get 100 naira after each trip and 3% service charge. My Advice;

Nice one bro.
Pls what phone are you using and did the rider have an outstanding balance that increased her fare, can u also share the trip details so we see to help you. Tkz
