What you narrated is wrong. What the criminal did os pretend as if he is helping her to check her balance. He saw of course when she typed her pin. After checking the balance for her, he distracted her with the receipt and the criminal quickly ended the transaction, took her ATM and then pressed cardless withdrawal which most bank ATMS now do!!

The criminal now told the girl to continue and the girl being naive was not aware he has removed her ATM!! She was there pressing buttons like a lost fowl.

Be aware that had it been the criminal did not initiate cardless, the girl would have noticed her ATM has gone AWOL because then the machine would be telling her to insert her ATM!!
