But you would most likely be required to pay import duty.

No duty fee, just shipping fees for some products. I find that purchasing products from the US attract import duty but none from China so far.

Good Morning All,

Please I would like to confirm if I can obtain a work permit with a tourist Canadian Visa and if my children can attend school in Canada considering our status.

Thank you.

This question is annoying. Meanwhile,

No sir/ma.
It is a tourist visa and not eligible for anything other than for tourism within the timeframe of validity.

This could probably be the worst place to mention this... But anybody into Oil and Gas with the ability to get a credible buyer for Nigerian Crude should quote. Your buyer will be linked directly to the seller. Procedure is straight forward.

Can we discuss concerning this??

Hello, please is it advisable to book a flight with no free check in baggage included and buy check in baggage at $200 dollars? This is coming from a student with only one bag. Just to save cost

You can’t obtain work Permit with Tourist visa..which means you can’t get meaningful work. For everything important here, you’ll be asked for proof of status.

Canada is not US, you’ll suffer for nothing. Try coming to Canada the legit way please. I don’t know about school for the kids though, I don’t have any.

Your kids will be able to attend school. They may ask for their status but won't ask for proof.
But without a proof of residency, it might be difficult to obtain an health card or SIN. Without SIN, how do you legally get a job, if you go the United Kingdom's illegal migrants way of doing things. It is very risky as you are at the mercy of the runs people.

Pardon me to ask this question - is it that they don't drink milk in Canada, or what? grin

They do, but ours doesn’t contain vitamin D.

Chinese sellers usually under declare the value of the item when they ship via ChinaPost, which arrives via Canada post.
The US sellers will most times follow the rules by declaring the true cost of the item, and it's also likely going to be sent via courier. Courier companies like fedex, ups,etc will even open the parcel and check the item to ensure the real value had been declared.

Please, any bridging program for Chemical /Process engineers? Most of the bridging programs offered by the settlement agencies are usually tailored towards Civil/Mechanical/Electrical.

cc ,@Einstein @,salford1

Ryerson University has a bridging program for Engineers. However, I think one of the requirements is that you submit a PEO committee review letter, meaning you first need to have applied for P.Eng and have been instructed by PEO to take further training inorder to meet its academic requirements. In my opinion, aside from PEng license, it doesnt really help you much in the job market.

There is a chemical Engineer I know that recently landed a process engineer job, you might want to hook up with him for pointers. We have a very small whatsapp group of Nigerian Engineers in Canada, it might help to join the group to get a diverse opinion as I can only know so little outside my discipline(Civil Engrng).

You don't look for relatives except you lost their contacts. Maybe I don't know what your understanding of relatives is regarding Manitoba PNP. You may read the guidelines again.

Hi, congratulations. I really don't know what you mean by letter of acceptance but when I was sent my offer of admission I was asked to either accept or decline and I accepted. The school has accommodation for students which is much cheaper than regular rent.
I will be going there in August so I don't have much information yet.

@salfod1 and @CanadianNaija thank you very much I appreciate your response, I simply needed to clarify a friend's claim on the possibility of living in Canada without having to go through the EE route. She claimed people now take the visit/asylum route.

Thank you very much. I accepted mine too but some agency guy kept telling me there is an acceptance letter that includes the tuition fees, cost of living and amount you are supposed to pay like a deposit to show commitment.
