MY TAKE ON SOWORE's arrest. - Femi Michael-Kusimo

It is too sentimental to think Buhari has done evil to have ordered the arrest of Omoyele Sowore. Sowore should go back to where he came from to pick his lecturing job. If Nigerians wanted him behind the wheels of administration, they'd have voted him in. Some of you are just coming online to write what you don't understand about this politics, thinking it's another political shenanigan by the Buhari-led government to have arrested the ‘activist’.
Sowore is a literate and must have taken his time before choosing the word “Revolution”. Before you turn to Sowore's E-lawyer on Whatsapp, do you know what “Revolution” means? Do you? Go and study your lexicon before you come here to display ignorance. Revolution simply means “a change in the way a country is governed, usually to a different political system and often using violence or war” (Cambridge dictionary).
Security-wise, the country is facing a tough time. Now imagine a citizen planning a ‘Revolution’ protest and you expect the government to sit and watch in this precipice? Where's it done?! Not even in any of the developed countries! The chaos and agony in the land is enough for it. Intending evil perpetrators could field through this protest, don't you think? The President recently said another Boko Haram threat was looming, how's your MCM planning to help the country gain security balance? Why should he add salt to the open wound? Don't be too sentimental!
If Sowore has an idea on how to go about the security challenges we're facing, let him make it open to us or perhaps write to Presidency.
Only a few problems have been solved through violence and protest in Nigeria. A ‘Revolution’ is never a panacea to whatever seems to be a bad governance.
We're praying for peace, don't exacerbate the situation.

I am *Femi Michael-Kusimo*, and I'm not a card-carrying member of any political party in Nigeria.

But those condemned people from that side say Buhari is murdering democracy for arresting the champion of the proposed revolution.

These toads will still be the first to use the word "illiterate" against you when you disagree with them on any issue. undecided

"I'm not talking of protest. I'm embarking on revolution. 85% of Nigerians are in support. Don't tell me about legal implications or what a Judge will say. I don't care. We must bundle Buhari out of that place...."

Omoyele Sowore....... July 25, 2019.

Exhibit C!

Sowore might spend more times behind the bar than expected.
You don't plan to overthrow an elected govt and go freely

The oxford dictionary defines revolution as~

1)The forcible overthrow of a government

2)The change of a social order in favour of a new system

3) An instance of revolving

Supporters of Buhari rushed for the first definition without realising that Sowore was about definition 2

What sort of foolish person believes that an unarmed Sowore wants to overthrow Government? How is it even possible to overthrow a government while being unarmed?

The second cannot be interpreted as sowore's case here.

While the first is always a case involving violent opposition of the govt with the intent of forcefully changing it, the second is more of a change brought about almost by default rather than a call for it and the govt doesn't frown at it. A good example of the second is in the expression "Industrial Revolution". cool

The question then is how does an unarmed Sowore "forcibly overthrow government"?

Is it possible for an unarmed group to change a government that has a police force, standing Army, Navy and Airforce?

Well, how he intended achieving that is entirely a different issue.
But what is of interest to the security services is a presidential aspirant that lost election is mobilising for revolution. Accordingly, he has a lot of questions to answer, no govt allows such.

Meanwhile, here are sowore's words
"I'm not talking of protest. I'm embarking on revolution. 85% of Nigerians are in support. Don't tell me about legal implications or what a Judge will say. I don't care. We must bundle Buhari out of that place...."

And you expect the govt to clap hands for him "because he is not armed"?

Here we go again. Please, let's stop with these manipulation of words. Someone calls for peaceful protest to demonstrate and create awareness about the common struggle of Nigerian citizens. Everybody understands what is expected of them; they are expected to show up, walk the streets and carry placards that showcase insecurities, poverty, herdsman menace, nepotism, religious intolerance, corruption and other injustices that continue to ravage our country. How does this equates to overthrowing the government? How does this equates to act of terrorism? I'm even more surprised at the character of the people writing these propaganda. Let's not destroy our unborn children's future by selling our conscience for 1 naira.

When things are these bad in our country, do we just sit idle and do nothing? Do we continue to allow these political elites to use fear, divide and conquer as an instrument to cloud our judgement from speaking the truth and acting according to the yearning of the masses? How do we call our thieving political elites to order? How do we effect and affect change for the common man? Let's remember the words of Haile Selassie of blessed memories, "Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of voice of justice when it mattered the most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph".

Enough of all these propaganda. The time for action to protest against all injustices ravaging our dear country is now. Let's not sell our conscience for a bowl of porridge. Let's take a stand and support this peaceful protest.

That is truly terrible. We are in a democracy but people are being chased about because of utterance rather than substance. It's time to admit that it is no longer democracy but dictatorship. If people start getting arrested for what they said instead what they did then that society has taken 20 steps back.

It's high time you stop misleading the public by supporting the evil government of Nigeria. I pray may the evil happening in this country befall your family and your unborn generation. If you cannot stand against evil and bad leadership, then allow people in the likes Sowore to do so. We're not bother of his Past but what he stands for.....

I WANT REVOLUTION TO TAKE PLACE IN NIGERIA BUT I THINK SOWORE KNOWS THAT HE CANNOT ACHIEVE REVOLUTION BUT JUST USING IT TO STAY RELEVANT IN NIGERIA POLITICS BY GAINING MASSES THRUST AS NIGERIA MESSIAH AFTER BEING RELEASED. IF HE WAS SERIOUS HE SHOULDN'T HAVE CALLED IT REVOLUTION HE WILL START IT AS A PROTEST FOR GOOD GOVERNERS AND METAMORPHOSES AS REVOLUTION BECAUSE NO GOVERNMENT WE STAYED AND WATCHED A CITIZENS CALLED FOR REVOLUTION.
