Job Summary
The Teacher of Chemistry will plan, prepare and deliver instruction to students in Basic 7-9 and Senior Secondary 1-3 (SS 3) in accordance with the Nigerian National Policy on Education and regulations of Jesuit Memorial College.
The teacher will cover effectively and efficiently every item in the scheme of work in use in the school while also teaching the students all they need to know in everyday life in relation to Chemistry and Basic Science.
Over and above all, every teacher in Jesuit Memorial College is a role model to the students.
Requirements/Qualifications
B. Ed (Chemistry) or its equivalent is required. Any higher degree or qualification, especially in the field of Chemistry, is an advantage.
Experience:
At least 2 years teaching experience in a similar role. Any other experience relating to Chemistry is an advantage.
Personal Qualities:
Effective communication and presentation skills,
Good command of English Language,
Good understanding of adolescent psychology,
Good interpersonal skills, a team player,
Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision,
Proficiency in use of Office Suites like Microsoft Word and Power Point.

Roles and Responsibilities
Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, purchase orders, invoices, statements, etc.
Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
Maintain historical records by maintaining a proper filing system.
Pay employees by verifying expense reports and preparing pay checks

Prepare analysis of accounts and produce monthly reports
Continually seek to improve the payment process

Disburse petty cash by recording entry; verifying documentation.
Report sales taxes by calculating requirements on paid invoices.
Maintain an approved signature register with authorized signature of each manager who is authorized to approve invoices.
Perform other duties as directed by the Accounts Manager.
Maintain an Executive expense report file.
Reconcile the outstanding cheques.
Maintain a close relationship with other department head.
Maintain all the backups related to the receivable in a separate file.
Experience and Qualifications
B.Sc, HND or AAT in Accounting from a reputable higher institution.
Experience in high volume accounts function preferably in the hotel industry.

Carry out Ad – hoc review of these systems and procedures and brings areas of improvement to Management attention

Educational Qualification:
The ideal candidate will be ACCA qualified (or equivalent professional qualification) with at least 3 years post qualified experience
It is desirable but not essential that the candidate has a bachelor’s degree in finance or business
Professional Experience:
At least 10 years’ experience in Finance or other related/relevant roles
At least 3 years post qualified experience is required for this role
