Please house am applying through mpnp to Brandon and has done my biometric since 22nd may, this year and yet to get instruction letter for medical examination. On my profile, i can see the estimated completion time to be 12months.

My question is when can i expect my medical examination.

Also must it take up to 12months for them to complete the process.

Hello seniors, a friend of mine just got Employment Contract from a canadian Employer through an agency. He would be going on a 2 yr visa(work permit)
But there is a statement included in the contract, .....................Can someone help to explain this.......

Please consider this job offer as a commitment
that you will be employed with us on a permanent full-time basis upon receiving your Permanent Resident Status
.

Does it mean he MUST still be with the employer even affter getting permanent residency?

In my opinion, the Southside is ideal for families. There's a Telegram group, you can join and get more answers to your questions there. Send me a PM so I can send you the link.

Avoid as much as possible. If found on you, you will be fined more than the price if the milk.
Kenny4real68:

Nice one!
Please kindly throw more light, I just saw where you wrote that you were asked if you have milk and you said no. Does that mean both liquid and powered milk isn’t allowed?
I am asking because my friend told me t come along with my powered peak milk because it’s very expensive over their.
Thanks

If its not PMP routes, you can stay anywhere. Trust me, staying with your sister for even 1 week will save you money. You can apply for jobs from there
Blooit004:
Is it advisable to land in missisauga Ontario and stay temporarily with my younger sister and her family before getting my own accommodation and job, or I should go to a countryside...(say saskoon) to hustle and forge my own part without knowing anyone there yet? I'm a single 30year old health professional, will appreciate your advice.

Hi, I'm not a microbiologist but I worked in this line in Nigeria. Here in Canada you can go into food safety and quality assurance as have mentioned. Food safety is also a big deal over here. You might have to do some courses either a diploma or a professional masters in any college or University of your choice to teach you all you need to know. There are also some ISO certification courses you can do. You can also work in a food laboratory either government or private. There are also opportunities as a food inspector. You will need to do some short courses to teach you what you need to know. There are some government agencies that hire microbiologists along this line. You can do your research and apply with your Nigerian degree and you can get lucky.

Please for how long will the short courses last

I dont think you can work in the hospital here in Canada just as a regular microbiologist. Every profession related to the medical line here is regulated meaning you will need to pass some exams and have a license to practice. However you can work in a hospital as a medical laboratory technologist and specialise in microbiology, I believe there is that option. For you to take this option, you will be doing a whole lot of courses and exams cos like I said it is regulated. But for food safety and quality assurance you can take some short courses and one or two important certifications to set you on your way. Probably after that you can start small in order to learn how things are done in food safety cos it's a whole lot and then work your way up to manager and even go into consulting later if you please. That's all I know, probably someone else might chip in more.

Thanks so much winterpeg

Greetings to all newly landed...We shall all be successful here.

I have a free ticket to give out for Global Fest...It is specifically for Spain Night on August 17..read more about GlobalFest online.

The lucky winner should be a single guy or lady resident in Calgary...preferable a newly landed person who wants to explore the city.

Let us mix..relax..network and think of how well to navigate this city...let us build a strong network just as the early explorers from our country did over here..

May the best company win...See you at GlobalFest.

Chinese sellers usually under declare the value of the item when they ship via ChinaPost, which arrives via Canada post.
The US sellers will most times follow the rules by declaring the true cost of the item, and it's also likely going to be sent via courier. Courier companies like fedex, ups,etc will even open the parcel and check the item to ensure the real value had been declared.

Oh yea? This makes sense

Hi, I dont know how long. It depends on the program you are going for or whether it is a University, college or certification program. It's best you Google for relevant programs in the province you plan to settle in or if you are open to moving to another province then expand your search.
I know University of guelph has a Master's degree program in food safety and quality assurance. I think red river college has a post graduate diploma in QA/QC

Medical microbiology is a regulated profession and I know nothing of the programs involved.
