Thanks for your prompt response, can you guide me through the STK route?

STK means studenkolleg, like a preliminary study before you start your BSc. It requires at least B1 in German i.e you have to learn German up to B1 here in Nigeria before you can apply. STK is said to be very hard plus there are restrictions like they may not be allowed to work or work limited hours compared to other students.

Enrol by proxy means you can enrol while still in Nigeria. Some schools allow enrollment by proxy while some will demand your presence for enrollment

What of studies proper? If they allow you to enrol by proxy and still Visa refuse to come on time... Wont they terminate your admission if studies proper begins?

Once you enrol, You're a student. That means you can resume anytime. I know someone whose school resumed in October, yet he got to Germany in January because of visa issues. He was allowed to enrol by proxy and some of his lecturers even sent him lecture notes/study materials for him to study while he was in Nigeria.

But the thing is that I don't know if my school will permit that. They already told me that my latest extension is October 31!

I want to ask something too. I got admission to my school on may 5th. I applied for Visa on may 10th. Till now, am yet to get appointment!

Resumption date for my school is October 1st and my school has already told me that latest I need to be in school is october 31st!

Why is it that those who just applied as recent as July are getting appointment dates? Even some who applied this August?

I thought they said Germany does things by procedure?

Why jumping MAY applicants and giving AD to those who applied later like June, July, August?

Or was my application mail forgotten in SPAM FOLDER?

Am just so confused!

Am being tempted to cancel but am hoping on God still.

It's stated clearly on the first page of this thread. You can't use OND to study in Germany (except maybe through the STK route)
To study for BSc in Germany, you'll need either:
- a previous BSc
- HND
- 100 Level transcript

Spot on, as usual! I already have a B.SC degree though.

Well, eddiemei, while you probably work towards enrolling for the STK or getting a 100L transcript from NOUN possibly, i would still advise that you apply with your OND if you had good grades and experience, especially if you have nothing to lose.

Look out for schools that offer online application route and avoid those that direct you to Uniassist. It will cost you nothing to scan your documents and send to them for admission consideration.

I believe you are aiming for B.Sc. If are looking to do it in Business, consider the International Business programme at Hochschule Reutlingen (ESB Business School).

Hello NL family kudos to those that have been enlightening us here with their experience and the gurus in the house.
I have been a silent reader ere since and I appreciate and congratulations to those that have make it with AL, AD, AM AND Visa and for those of us who got rejection despite meeting all necessary requirements not to give up but keep trying and learn from our mistakes.
Please I seek your advice for those of us that want to apply this summer, it seems few schools offer admission in summer and I will be glad if I can see who to help me out with schools that offer direct applications and anybody who know more about course in Communication Engineering / Information technology to please help me through.

TH Koln has a course in Network Communications but they use UNIASSIST.

If you have the money, don't avoid UNIASSIST. It will be worth it at the end.

Interview transcript

Just had my interview or will I term it as a conversation.

Had my interview at Counter 1. The one just by the gate. I was interviewed by a guy.

The interview was sweet make I no lie.

I tried to lighten the mood when my VO asked me if I had any children. I replied, "unfortunately No". He asked why because I'm not married. I told him I want kids even without marriage. I now added that I wanted to have kids when I was 20 years old and my mum didn't permit me. He opened his eyes wide

The mood was lit... We digressed and started a light discussion on population control while comparing Nigeria's population to Germany's and little professional jokes. How Naija people give birth anyhow without sense of population control.

He asked nothing short of the basics.

VO: You've funded. That's nice. When's your start date?

Me: 23rd of September.

VO: You put 30th as your start date. You're the first student I've seen in this set that's putting a later date as start date. A lot of you are in a haste and put earlier resumption dates and my boss has instructed me to check this but everything looks good for you.

VO: is this course related to your BSC? Oh Electrical and Electronic engineering is what you did as BSC...

Me: Yes, digital Engineering is related to it sir.

VO: Why this course?

Me: It a step up in achieving my future career goals and it will give me a boost in advancing my bachelor's thesis and research paper since the program is research oriented.

VO: What do intend doing when you're back?

Me: I'd like to come back and open a consultancy that caters to designing and implementing complex Electronic systems for the automotive industry in Nigeria.

VO: Why Germany?

Me: Quality of education of the country and free tuition.

VO: Why not other English speaking countries?

Me: I can't afford it sir.

VO: And why not Nigeria

Me: Irregular academic calendar and this course is not offered in any University in Nigeria

VO: Oh really?

Me: Yes sir, it's a fresh course.

VO: Do you know anyone in Germany? Family? Uncle? Aunt? Friends?

Me: I have 3 friends in Germany.

VO: What do they do in Germany?

Me: Two of them are students, one is a priest.

VO: What's your bachelor thesis?

Me: Facial motion tracking using MATLAB and its possible applications in Nigeria

VO: Okay..... So tell me what you know about Germany and the state you're going to, don't hold back.

Me: (Starts pouring out plenty.... I talked for more than 3 minutes before he told me to stop)

VO: Can you please confirm your email?

Me: (confirmed it)

VO: That should be it. Do you have any questions for me?

Me: Yes sir, I have 2 questions.

VO: 2? Go ahead please.

Me: How will the increment in BA affect me in this application because I have funded.

VO: The banks have updated the current amount but it will not affect this very application but you will be asked to top up at the foreign office when you get there. So carry it along when you go.

Me: Thanks for the clarification sir. Second one is, how soon will I get a respons from you guys?

VO: It doesn't depend on us here really, it depends on the foreign office in your intended state. But it is usually advised that they processed and finish it so that the student can travel 2 weeks before his/her resumption unless the application is late. Mostly applications take between 4-6 weeks.

VO: Is that all?

Me: Yes sir.

VO: That's the end of the interview. So you can go home and have those babies you want so much.

Me: I sure will. Thank you sir.

PS: This is my opinion o. Paulinus is a great guy. He's just principled. The man is just wonderful. Yes I said it

He helped one guy today. He was patient with him. He was the one that arranged the guy's documents. Just listen to him and you'd be fine.

Was among first 10 on the que. Mr P after sending some persons back asked for 4 smart persons and i was the first.
Mr Paulinus is the Best you can think of, just that people dont follow instructions and think he is difficult.
Please my transcript here is more of advice as everything was as usual
Was interview in the first cubicle by the entrance. The VO is such a friendly, young, simple and nice black gentleman

What program? Msc or Bsc? School? location? Language of Instruction? private or public school? tuition fees?
Why this program
Why not Nigeria........ The program is not offered in Africa
Why not US, UK, Canada
Why Germany
Plans after study..... Go for PhD in Germany or Europe
Which countries .......Germany, Austria or Switzerland
What do you know about Germany?... He so happy about ma first answer that am more professional(Germany position falls betw Lat 47 & 55, long 5 & 16)
Have you been to Germany? Do you know or have any in Germany
What did you go to do in China?
Pls try and fund fast and send the confirmation to that address he instructed
My Advice!!!!
1. Please make sure you have all the doc on the checklist and make 2 clear copies each. God used me to help 3 guys that doesnt have their doc complete and couldnt be let out again. I took a big risk inspite of the many cameras to sneak and help them make copies, giving them was another issues bu i did with the help of the mopol. If you are one of those, pls just go and give thanks.
2. It was very pathetic and annoying seeing peolple filling and signing forms there. What these persons being doing? Saw them laying their doc on the ground and sorting. any small confront from Uncle P get them more confused and eventually frustrated. Mind there are cameras all arround seeing these acts of unseriousness
3. The format for arranging the doc are same as outlined here. I will advice you u follow and arrange the 3 sets in same sequence, demacate each set so it become easier when picking. Use paper clip for doc that has more than a page and dont staple ANY
4. Anything you are doing, pls note that they are watching you from the main building. Composed, avoid to much discussions, follow instruction. watch and learn from what others are doing
FINALLY some of the question i see here are very astonishing. Pls ABEG take your time and read this thread as there are answers to all ques here. Take notes from post, research urself, use the consulate and ur school sites to gather info
When you fail to prepare, you then become the village people to yourelf
Thank you all for ur contributions and I strongly believe that every of our trys will be crowned with victory

Una sorry for the delay just woke cos i arrived PH by 12.20am. Our Nigerian roads are the best
One love and best wishes to ALL

Please, cancel and rebook. So many people are passing through your situation, unfortunately. Just cancel and rebook while hoping that your school considers the circumstances surrounding your possible late arrival.
