Hello everyone, Good evening. Please I can see that most of the discussions here are on Northern/southern cyprus. I hope someone would help me out with Turkish student visa. I am a prospective Mechatronics Engineering student( MSc) of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) in Istanbul. I have done every necessary thing that I am supposed to do. I applied for my Turkish student visa at MZVIZE office on the 9/07/19,two days later, I receive an mail from them asking me to come back and take my passport which I did, plus a little white little paper which says: ***Dear Sir/Madam, YOUR VISA APPLICATION has been forwarded to Turkish Authority for Examination. You will be contacted as soon as reply is received*** I emailed the embassy on the 23/07/19 to know the status of my application, and They told me that THEY ARE YET TO RECEIVE FEEDBACK FROM THE TURKISH AUTHORITY, THAT WHEN THEY DO, THEY WILL CONTACT ME. Now, Is already 2weeks since I sent the email and a total of 21 business/working days since the day of application, and am yet to be contacted by the embassy. Hence, am begining to be worried. I called the school today being 05/08/19 and they told me that they have done their part, that they have forwarded all the incoming foreign students names to the embassy. So I should wait that the embassy will definitely contact me. Please my brothers, is any one here familiar with this my story? And what could be causing the delay? Am really worried. I need someone with similar experience to direct me on what to do, please. Thanks in advance |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 6:09am On Aug 07, 2019 |
HENRYFORDmmeje: Just wait for the embassy to call you. Since the university already sent your name, the embassy will let you know when it’s ready to issue the visa. All universities in Turkey/north Cyprus resume in sept for Fall semesters so you still have time. |
Re: North Cyprus by HENRYFORDmmeje(m): 3:24pm On Aug 07, 2019 |
Okay Wip7 thanks very much for your feedback and advice.. Two people have adviced me to send the embassy another remember email. Because this is rushing period, that they may forget to send email or mistakenly skip someones name. One of them told me that am supposed to be contacted before this week runs out because throughout next week is holidays in Turkey august 12,13,14,15,16. But am yet to send the reminder email to the embassy because I sent them an email on 23/07/19. And they told me that they are just to get a feedback from the Turkish authority. So I feel that sending them another email might look as if am disturbing them or pressurizing them. What do You think bro?? |

Hi Wip 7, my cousins finally submitted last week Monday which is over a week and 4 days but there are no words yet from MZVISE or the Turkish embassy. On average, how long does it take? |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 9:34am On Aug 08, 2019 |
HENRYFORDmmeje: You can remind after next week since holiday starts from this Friday upward till end of next week. |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 9:37am On Aug 08, 2019 |
Damsonkc: There is no fixed processing period for Turkish embassy. This depends on volume of applicant, period (festive or non), response from the concerned University and sorting of names at the embassy. On average, 2-8 weeks. The semester starts in September, so still more time! |
Re: North Cyprus by Damsonkc(m): 10:53am On Aug 09, 2019 |
Hi wip 7, good day. My cousin finally received an email yesterday. He went there this morning but was given back his passport and a green leaflet with the inscription “name not on the list”. Please what could this mean? Is there a need to be worried? wip7: |
Re: North Cyprus by jubrilx: 11:15am On Aug 09, 2019 |
Damsonkc:The embassy will send another mail for him to bring the passport to the embassy, when the university sends his name to the embassy. |
Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 4:08pm On Aug 09, 2019 |
Damsonkc: No need to get worried. He can inform his university that embassy claimed his name is not on their list so they can resend. Most times the university do send the names however, the embassy usually don’t update their list instantly so they give such to applicants and if the names are received in many cases (73%) they do contact the applicants to resubmit their passports. |

Hello |
Re: North Cyprus by HENRYFORDmmeje(m): 12:41am On Aug 10, 2019 |
31days now after I submited my student visa application at MZVIZE and I was given the white paper that they have forwarded my visa application to the Turkish authority for further examination and that they will contact me when a reply is received. Til now the embassy has not contacted me yet. I sent a reminder email on wesdnesday to the embassy and they have not replied til now. And Throughout next week is holidays in Turkey. Hence embassy resumes work from august 19th..my school told me that they have sent my details to the embassy. My school is IGU in Istanbul. So why is the embassy taking this long to call someone and issue the visa especially in this 2019 september fall?? I guess is the same thing for all the students heading to northern cyprus Universities. Because about two northern cyprus guys I met on the day I went to make my application on the 09/07/19 is also saying that they are yet to be contacted by the embassy.. Why is this taking so much time? My school is in Istanbul Turkey. I hope they will contact me before the end of this august and tell me to bring my passport that my visa is ready. My school final registeration date for new student is around 2nd week of september. The embassy doesn't even pick calls, they don't even reply emails. How then can I reach them. Though, any other thing is from august 19th upwards. |
Re: North Cyprus by Silensa(m): 10:52am On Aug 10, 2019 |
HENRYFORDmmeje: Patience is the key. Just wait and zero your mind from the visa for now though impossible . I know someone that got he's after 3 months (December to First week of March). Look for something to distract you. And even the school won't start lectures for now, it's all about orientation and registrations. |

Unfortunately that happens sometimes, especially when there are serious security problems in Turkey. I had the same problem when i applied in 2015, but i don't remember how long the further examination took. It took at least three weeks, although it may have been four weeks. It could take longer in your case, since there is an intermediary(MZVISE). I hope the documents you submitted are all legit though. Wait patiently and pray. Although i am not sure about the schools in Istanbul, at METU, Ankara, the admin allows late registrations, if you have a legitimate reason for doing such.Late issuance of visas as far as i am concerned passes as one. I would think this scenario is fairly true across Turkey. You can correspond specifically with your school for clarification on late visas. All the best. Re: North Cyprus by wip7: 9:10am On Aug 18, 2019 |
Bobbybabs: Ticket price is not fixed as it changes every hour/minutes. Price also depends on airline and date of traveling, 35 of my Students that arrived from Nigeria between July 10-August 15, we got one way for 300-370k naira ...and for return we got 420-520k. |
