Please does anyone know if it’s possible to apply for student visa from turkey?

I think you should have a residence permit to enable you apply from there, my thoughts anyway.

I think you have to tell the V.O how your tuition fee will be funded throughout your study. I doubt if this can be funded from your Block account cos this is for your upkeep.

I don't think they even care about that. It's between you and your school.

SOME COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MAKE WHEN APPLYING TO GERMAN SCHOOLS

Disclaimer: This is just on my experience so far on this thread, I'm no expert. Please, the bosses on this thread, feel free to add/correct anything. This is just to aid prospective applicants to avoid such mistakes.
- Certifying your original documents. This is a big mistake. You're meant to certify the PHOTOCOPY of the original document.
- Applying for schools/courses that require tuition (and you can't afford it). Germany is famous for tuition free schools but NOT ALL SCHOOLS/COURSES ARE FREE ESPECIALLY PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES. Before applying, check well and make sure it's tuition free before you apply. if you're searching on daad, there's an advanced filter that allows you to search for tuition free schools. Of course, if you can afford the tuition, then this point is not for you.
- Applying for courses where the Language of Instruction is German aber du sprechst kein Deutsch. Please read well oo, make sure the Language of instruction for the course is clearly English before you apply. aber wenn spreche ich Deutsch dann kein problem.
- Applying for courses that give conditional admission. Typical example: you apply to a school and they give you admission letter but ask you to present German certificate for enrollment within a time frame that is nearly impossible to get that certificate. Check the course's website very well before you apply, make sure you can meet all the requirements for admission AND enrollment before you apply.
- Applying for courses without checking the requirements. In the previous part, someone applied to a school via uniassist without checking the cgpa requirements and got bounced cos the cgpa didn't meet up. Money and time wasted. Please convert your cgpa to German scale and make sure it falls within the required requirements before you apply. This also applies to all other requirements like English test etc.

Please let's be guided. Thank you.

Did you listen to yourself talk, Lol, who is sounding rude here, I only adviced you should get things done yourself as no one is ready to spoon feed you which is what it is, and you are busy throwing tantrums talking about my orientation and upbringing. Just hope you listened to yourself talk anyway.

Actually I gave a reply based on what he wrote.. embassy wouldn't give him visa to go start A1 in Germany(whether with school admission or not) when there is Goethe that is far cheaper in Nigeria. If he had German knowledge to like A2 level then he has a good chance. But again weird things happen on this journey.
[quote author=Philfit post=81100047]
It depends, if he was actually given an admission for a full study program and asked to do a language course as one of the requirements then his visa would not be denied. it would be treated as a student visa, all he needs is the confirmation from whichever language school he registers in that he has paid and would start on so so date plus his schools admission letter for the study program with the condition. If its just an admission from a language school only, then it would be denied due to your stated reasons

Truth is that once he can say why he wants to study the course and why he chose a German taught course, they wont care what level of German language he is in. i know about 4 guys in DE right now who used conditional admission for a German taught program without any proficiency in German and more testimonies to come this winter wink. All he needs to show is proof he is going to do the German language course (payment notification to the language school, and language contract) this way they are sure of his purpose of going to DE

You don't have to travel anywhere to know that what he said is the truth, even if it is the bitter truth.
He even gave a good example of a receptionist feeling too big when you walk into an office. That is the typical behavior of the average Nigerian. We have all seen it many times : public servants feeling too big to do their job, some of our lecturers wanting to be treated like gods etc.
I was emailing a US prof and we were exchanging emails regularly till I decided to Google his name, the man was a huge name in tech that has even invented a programming language, he has a Wikipedia page, yet so humble and willing to help.
If there is one thing I am sure we can learn from whites, it is humility, not showing off unnecessarily and not feeling too important.

You're conflating the issues.

The singular issue which I addressed in my response was that of people sharing or not sharing information.

This one you're saying now is irrelevant to my post.

But for the sake of clarity, I don't deny that Nigeria has a service delivery problem. The distinction is in recognizing that it has to do with a whole lot of systemic issues in the country, and not anything to do with being an African or black person.

I could have broken that down for him too, but I know it'd just go over his head, which is why I didn't bother and just stuck to the basic one which directly affects this thread.

Conditional Admission is different from language school admission that can only get you a language visa. @fabcol is obviously talking about language visas, you cannot work on a language visa or convert it to a student visa, you have to exit and reapply for a student visa after the duration of your language course which is usually not more than a year.

Language visa is different from student visa, conditional admissions get you student visas but they sometimes go south especially when the prior language possessed is insufficient. You both know what you're talking about but I guess you don't understand yourselves.

Short term visas are not in this category which prompted fabcol's answer to the guy, or did your friends travel On short term visas and extended it?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Visa application will only be possible if you have their resident permit, else you're either coming back to Walter carrington to interview or the Abuja embassy if that's where you resided before your travel.

Read the Appointment mail, if anything was said about the number of days allowed prior to the interview to cancel so as not to incite a ban.

Alotta folks will be angry with you for the potential wastage of a much needed slot.
