UPDATE ON ETI - Will ETI rally in the coming weeks...
As an update to my last post on ETI, during this past trading week, ETI price attempted to pass through its all time low, however this was rejected with the week ended in indecision candlestick.

The question is: will ETI rally in the coming weeks or what we have is a pause before bears continue the downtrend?

Risk: Major trend is downtrend and also the index is still down.

Will FCMB Support zone Keep Bears at bay?
In this critical bearish period on the NSE market, one of the stocks that is still "not following the general downtrend" is FCMB in the banking sector. For the past couple of weeks, 1.55 level have been rejecting any attempt for price to move the stock price below this level.

Will this level continue to keep the bears at bay or will it be violated?

A buy entry at 1.55 seems reasonable while the market continues its downtrend journey...

4 Bank Stocks to keep in your watch list... wink
As the bears continue to intimidate the market with downtrend, many stocks are visiting their 52 weeks low while some their all time lows. However, in the banking sector, 4 banks held their heads above the banking index. When bears brouhaha is over on NSE, 4 bank stocks most likely to perform better than the market. Watch out for - Sterling, UBN, WEMA & FCMB. Not forgetting also ACCESS - but not on the chat just to make it "clean".

for better display: https://invst.ly/bogv0

That is why in my earlier post today, I made mention of FCMB of keeping the bears at bay as the support zone is proving strong...

What do you think about their beta and how does it apply?

What I mean actually is that though they are very likely to outperform the market, I still think a few with significant depression in price might give the most return. I am not sure if beta relates to volatility but that's what I seem to have in my mind though can't remember reading anywhere

...Agba, when I mentioned "outperforming" the market, it does not mean they will necessarily be the leaders of their sector, but at times they are. What this means conservatively is that while the banking index is rising, the stocks will always rise above the index (market). We discussed this at length sometimes last year when I picked out either IBTC or Sterling outperfoming the market. At the end, I think through 2018, it happened to outperformed not only the banking index but also the banking sector.

Nigeria technically tested recession last week, and currently with little margin moves out from it. One may wonder what I mean by these.
1. 2019 budget kept crude oil bench mark at 58 dollar per a barrel, these means both capital project and wage bill allocation has to come from 58 dollar per a barrel.
2. Crude oil price visited 56 and 57 dollar per a barrel last week, meaning that Nigeria visited recession zone. Has it been that crude oil price remains in that 56 zone or even go below that, the implication is that Nigeria will find it difficult to fund their project and to pay wage bills. The money shared monthly during the FAAC meeting will reduce.

But as crude oil is moving up again, company that losses last might gain this new week.

Investors should remain patient and avoid the perils of performance-chasing.
The best performing stock today could be the worst tomorrow, and vice-versa.
"the investor of today does not profit from yesterday’s growth"warren buffet.
investing is a marathon and not a sprint. If you have a five-year investment horizon, remember to keep a long-term view – don’t worry too much about your returns for the first few years. When it comes to investing, patience is rewarded.
The NSE has been one of the best in the past and now one of the worst in the world.
The market will surely return to it is peak. When?
No one can tell, Not even the crystal ball analysts.
No graph or waves could.
It could get worse, it could get better.
The intelligent thing anyone could do is to stay invested, accumulate more if you could.
Wishing you all a joyful trading week ahead.
