All these clever by half and dimwitted "Òmùgọ́s" we have prowling nairaland these days, sigh. "Mummy" is simply the British spelling of the word, while "Mommy" is the American way of spelling it. While it is true that the English spelling (Mummy) also refers to an embalmed corpse, it is also true that context matters when we use words. If I say: " I met Kunle's mummy in Church today" only an idiot would think I was referring to meeting a dead corpse. Always do some findings before posting. The difference is why one is American English the other is British English.. Mummy has two meanings just like we have a lot of words like that in English 1 Like
