Igbos of today are too enlightened and republican to marginalize another region after what they have been through under the failed Nigerian nation.

What Biafra or any other name the Eastern nation will bear will operate is a fully independent regional government which will be like United Kingdom with each regions that will make up the new nation- Biafra or whatever having total independence and control of their Police, security, resources....

Igbos love for Southsouth is not because of crude oil like most of you Yorubas think, it is because of the blood relation they share....there are many Igbo speaking and Igbo related tribes in Southsouth, and they also joined in fighting on the side of Biafra during the civil war, so they are our brothers no matter the enemity Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba controlled military government put between SE and SS through the creation of geopolitical zone called southsouth out of former Eastern Nigeria.

Southeast have more than enough crude oil reserve enough to turn SE another Dubai if well managed....so stop thinking from a typical Yoruba man's perspective :-\

Igbos pls can u stop ur delusions for Gods sake n wake up to reality. This ur narcissistic behaviors won’t take u nowhere. Meanwhile I can really see the Dubai in south east lmao the Dubai don sure tey tey not with the way south east governors r developing the states . Pls how did yoruba military government cause seperatuon between south east n south south... hmm mongbo

Listen, all the woes Southeast is passing through was created by Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba controlled federal government after the end of the civil war in 1969. They designed Nigeria to keep Igbos forever poor and marginalized even though Igbos struggled to breakaway from that devilish design and conspiracy of the North after the war.

During the war, there is a huge deposit of crude oil a stone stroll from my village (I won't mention it for you here), back then, according to my father, Biafran tanks came down there to convey crude and locally refined crude to distribute to Biafran military bases for their logistics needs.

Ojukwu visited that site often during the war, most times unannounced to avoid sabotage.

But guess what Since the end of the war, that site has been abandoned by Nigerian government either mistakenly or as part of the wicked plans to sabotage Igbo economy and keep Igbo states begging and impoverished. I am sure there are plenty of such abandoned crude oil reserves in Southeast, so if Biafra gets independence, these crude oil reserves will be explored to the fullest.

Aside those ones, Southeast still have crude oil wells being explored as we speak in Uguta by Adax Petroleum and Shell, Egbema, some Abia communities too. Anambra also discovered some to be explored soon.

Now why these crude oil reserves in Southeast may seem small for the whole Nigerian population to share, it will be more than enough for Southeast region alone to share, hope u understand now.

Enugu coal was abandoned, but coal is still being mined in Russia and Europe till date.

But mind you, Biafra won't be built on crude oil or mineral resources, it will be built on human capital development, science and technology, craft, trade and entrepreneurship.

Though revenue from crude oil and other natural resources maybe used to kickstart the government, Igbos all over the world are also ready and willing to do free donations, contributions and what have you to raise money for Biafra to start well. South Korea did it, they contributed money individually to raise money for their government to kickstart.

As for crime, of course there will be crime but the difference will be that in Biafra there will be huge consequences for crime unlike in Nigeria where crime committees go free which give more people the impetus and courage to commit more crimes.

Biafra cannot afford to fail, Igbos won't allow it. Southeast states governments are failing because they are operating under Nigerian federal government that tolerate mediocre and nonsense.

Go to Igbo communities, the little progress made are by individuals and community efforts.

You people r liars n never satisfied pls Igbo states received a lot of money revenue from the government even more than some southwest states but your governors prefers using the money to build Gucci glasses for their wives and no development plans but told u all lies that Hausas n yorubas r after you. How come some of u wealthiest people r oil barons n wealthy but live in southwest. Due to overpopulation from ur people in southwest most of our revenue given to us by the Federal is not even enough to develop things compared to your states with lesser populations but still can develop shit. Hausas n Yorubas don’t have any business visiting Biafra sites it should be visited by the same people that declared war on Nigeria but failed . Pls contributing to Biafra crime country cos it will bring peace

If SS secedes, it won’t be in alliance with SE. SE should also not count on SS when they make their move.

The SE has always been in alliance with the SS, you should know by now, after the civil war they realized how essential it is to merge with the SE.

It will be a real proxy war btwn China , Russia and US.

But if the New SE and SS automous country can, would grant access to a military base to Us. Then consider the Us supporting them.

At the same time, Russia does not have a military base in Africa, it might be a big opportunity for the new country to offer it to Russia.

Imagine a situation where Russia deploys 10k soldiers to their new bight of Biafra base, even the US will hesitate to fight any proxy war. Now imagine if it should happen in this era of Trump. Consider the New country a given.

I dont know why the talk of seceeding from Nigeria excites me.

It excites me too. Keep the thread alive.

The first category of Nations that will have no choice in picking sides will be the bordering states.

Chad, Niger and Cameroun will definitely side with the Nigerian govt.

While Chad and Niger will side Nigeria because of what they tend to lose if Nigeria breaks up, Cameroun will support Nigeria because of the secessionist movement by Abazonians currently be waged in the western half of that country.

An independent SE and SS nation will be favourably disposed to the plight of the Abazonians.

This is not down to any cultural affiliation or sympathies to their cause but rather a strategic necessity. With an independent Abazonia, the excesses of Cameroun in the bight of guinea will be curtailed, Bakassi will return back to the SS and Cameroun will be economically and militarily weakened. For this reasons, Cameroun will definitely support Nigeria.

As for Chad and Niger, the reasons for supporting the Nigerian govt is because their fulani Awusa benefactors will go bankrupt without Niger Delta oil. It is as much a financial exigency to support Nigeria and also because, a balkanized Nigeria will definitely lead to bankruptcy of northern Nigeria and that on its own will fuel more instability and crisis in northern Nigeria which definitely will spill over into the two nations. Refugees fleeing northern Nigeria owing to conflict and economic woes will be heading towards these two countries.

Although Equatorial Guinea does not share a land border with Nigeria, this tiny oil rich nation that is ruled by Africa's longest reigning despot will support Nigeria. This is because offshore oil Wells within Nigeria's territorial waters will be seceded to Guinea by the desperate Nigerian govt so as to cripple financially the newly independent Nation and also to gain support from multinational oil companies such as Total, Shell BP and Mobile Chevron towards tapping from their powerful lobby networks in the West. You can bet that BP will easily secure British Govt support for Nigeria.

As for Benin Republic, it will be difficult to predict who they will support since a balkanized Nigeria will come with mixed blessings for them. On the one hand, Porto Novo port will benefit and lose at the same time. Lose, from the lost sizeable and affluent population of SS and SE regions but benefit massively from smuggling activities of northern Nigerian smugglers.

France, however has the last say for Benin Republic and going by the predictable move of seceding oil Wells to Cameroun and Equatorial Guinea which offer far less transparent oil mining environment, Total Oil will definitely get the French president to support Nigeria.

One sided analysis. Have you factored in the current global geopolitics visaviz the post cold war politics of the US and Russia.... What positions are each going to take?

We are living in a global village of fast communication where issues of human rights and international law are taking seriously more than ever?

The support of the very weak countries you mentioned would have minimal bearing comparing with a single open support for Ss/Se by a major global player.

Don't forget that the two regions have a quantum of resources to strike a bargain with the most powerful nations, even though their demand is legitimate and legal.

your narrative is concisely coordinated with 'wisdomised' points which tend to check the balances and what equally will be obtainable. Nice one bro.

Don't be ignorant.

Biafrans are Christians and as such are enemies of the jew.

The Jew has never helped or supported a Christian nation ever rather they have sought their destruction (Russia, Germany, Greece, Armenia) and have used their Moslem tools to wage war on christiandom

The Arab Moslem invasion of Europe is being coordinated and facilitated by Jews.

Israel supported ISIS to kill Christians in Syria and Iraq and have been at the forefront denying Christians asylum in the West.

Do not be deceived.

I lost all trust in Kanu after I saw him aligned to Israel.

Do not be Jewed!

I will accept the Hebrew tag but not that of Judah aka Judas .

Do you know the significance of Judas (Judah) betraying Christ out of the 12 disciples?

The remaining 11 disciples went into the world to preach God's words just as the 11 lost tribes have assimilated among the gentiles.

Judas bought a field with his 30 pieces of silver from where he killed himself. This is symbolic to today's Jews who have turned against their God and Messiah and now worship Moloch. They have been compensated with money and that is what they have been using to secure their grave yard in Israel.

Do not consider the Jews of today as that of old. Their religion is totally different from that of the Hebrew people and they worship satan.

Most people here just givin their opinion.. so let me give mine....

I'm from warri and the only reason why I think the ss will support the igbos on this is because of Christianity... I think they would choose the igbos anytime over to the yorubas or hausa ... because they have one thing in common... 'christianity' and the only two tribes in this region who had the gots to voice this out are the igbos and ijaw...

I will, if time permits, but it doesn't remove the fact that the narrative I read was logically lopsided. War is chaotic and in such an event, there are bargains and shifting of sides by nations with vested interests. South south and East would be the cynosure of all eyes, what they offer, would be giving serious consideration even better than those from the sahel over a thousand mile from the oil wells. The oil wells are in these regions. We have seen how a little disruption from militants ruffles the global oil market let alone a full blown conflict. Anyways...
