The security situation in Lagos is getting worse back, Sanwo Olu , Tinubu and all of them should take security seriously again because it’s looking like things are getting deteriorated back, I witnessed same thing some weeks ago on Eko Bridge now third mainland again. God help us o

Baba I'll advice you buy keke and ride it yourself since Uber car investors aren't making money except the drivers.

Exactly the point I was trying to make him see, but he could not read between the lines. And I was only just amplifying what he said.

I’m not sure it’s 3rd mainland close to iyanoworo. What date exactly. It would be difficult for them to rub at iyanoworo. My thought though.

Another story thes lady ordered on taxify only for me to get there and say loads, one bag of rice, some few take away plastics plate, some crate of pepsi etc...as if that was the only load she now said there is another men i was angry- its a short trip 500 naira trip...i was just vexing what kind of riders are these on taxify..i told her normal she is suppose to pay seperate or extra for the load, that is my disgretion we are not suppose to carry much load. She now started as usual the empathic me allowwd it slide, thou at the end she added 400 naira to make the trip 1k. The husband now added 500 naira.. Good evening brethren.

We requested a ride on Uber this morning but the driver's profile did not have his car license plate details. We cancelled immediately.

Although we tried to contact Uber, there wasn't an option to click to report such an incident.

This evening, we have been able to get the 400 naira cancellation fee reversed.

I don't understand how a driver can operate on Uber without license plate details on his profile. Especially when riders can report when the plate number of the car that arrives is different from the one on the driver's profile.

Can anyone explain what happened this morning? I think it is an issue of rider security.
chai riders too don find us come here o

Saw this piece online and thought to share. I think as an uber driver, you really don't have to take sh-it from any rider.

My sincere apologies cos its a pretty long read.

As an Uber driver, have you ever needed to kick someone out mid-ride, and did the company back you up after?

Yes… Three times in four years.

First time, I picked up a couple at a food truck after bar closing. I told them they couldn’t eat in the car. She says, “no problem, we are just getting it to take home”. But he was grumbling about it. Then, about a minute after I start driving, I hear chewing. He has pulled a hot dog out of the bag and starts eating it. I said, “I’m sorry, no eating in the car.” He says, “Look, I paid for this ride, and if I want to eat my food before it gets cold, then that’s what I’m gonna do!” I immediately pulled to the curb and said, “Fine, you can do it outside. This ride is over.” He got very verbally abusive and didn’t want to go, but fortunately she coaxed him to get out and call another Uber.

Second time, I made the mistake of letting in a group of very drunk girls. I said, “Are you guys ok? I don’t want anyone to get sick during the ride.” They said, “Oh, no, we’re all fine!” But within minutes of starting the trip, one of the girls rolled down the window and stuck her head out. I immediately stopped and she vomited outside the window. I said, “You can get out and finish throwing up. I’m ending the ride.” They said, “No, everything will be fine now. You can keep going.” But I insisted they get another ride.

Third time, I had a group of four rich tech execs finishing a night at the bars. When I started the trip, they started giving me instructions on how they wanted me to take them to four different homes. Three of them lived in the city and the last one was about 40 miles away. I said I can do the drops in the city, but I couldn’t do the long trip because I was meeting a friend in about an hour. One of them said, “I feel like you don’t get to do that. You need to take us wherever we tell you!” I said, “You’ve been misinformed. I’m an independent contractor and I set my own schedule. If I tell you I don’t have time to complete a trip, that’s how it is.” Another of the guys said, “How about you just drop 3 of us off and the other guy will get another ride from there.” I said, “Fair enough”, and started driving. No sooner had I started, the fourth guy says, “Yeah, and then we can give you a 1 star rating, file a complaint, and get your lame ass fired!” I immediately pulled to the curb, stopped abruptly and said, “Ride over!” But they refused to get out and started yelling curses at me. So I called 911 and requested police come to resolve the situation before it got violent, as I grabbed a can of pepper spray I keep next to me. They took their sweet time getting out, and of course slammed my doors.

In all 3 cases, I immediately filed complaints with Uber documenting what had happened. The other people filed complaints too, but mine went in first, and I think that makes a difference in how the company evaluates what happened.

this happens when u drive far away from ubers app coverage. It happened to me twice. When i went to abijo GRA and when i went to eleko beach. On my way back, a rider requested me and couldn't view my profile very well, not even my vehicle plate number and name untill it normalized around lekki area

I'm fighting hard to believe u r not a robot, but on d second tot u may not b. Soh down to business, what's the life span for keke napep if I may ask, if u can save 600k, why can't you endure some more to make it 800k? Used to envy keke income till I got involved, nothing is as it seem, even in this business. Keke drivers on truck b/c roads r prone to different kind of stuffs and need u know deh r regular lasma/touts costumer. Last month I was talking to one of them that run on truck D road and he made me to understand he can make between 10 to 12k on a very good day, chairman will take 2500 in the morning for park, other money I can't remember all in total was going close to 3800, he will buy fuel as well, I was just like dis is not it for me, can't invest in dis again. Need you know keke does not have a second hand value and you may not b able to get any good money in bulk. But you may get a uber car for 1 million, make 1.5/2million from it and still sell for 800k, do the maths.

When you said uber partners don't make money, I don't know how you think keke investors make money without glitches, when u sit at home and do the 25k weekly maths, hopefully it goes that way, but sorry business is never like that, unforeseen circumstances will hit you and if u r not strong the pressure will break you. My advice to you if you have 600k as you said, stay strong and make more or seek for loan, you will get a fit uber car for 900k that is going to serve you will and you will b able to buy the 1.8 corolla you long for and still keep that while you have your peace of mind and sanity in check.

steering wheel turns/spins 360 degrees
I was driving home when I notice my steering wheel was up side down so on my next turn I paid more attention and when I turned I could feel it slipping. I made it home put my car in park and turned the wheel and it just kept turning and turning, no locking, no wheels moving, nothing. HELP!
