Oluwaloseyi66: What is the content of the correspondence letter? BVL - Biometrics Validity Letter - is the letter that states the your biometrics is valid until a decade and will be used in your subsequent temporary resident applications to Canada. Please open the letter and confirm if this was the letter you received! Again, there is a Correspondence letter which you will receive after your visa has been approved. It's normally called - Letter of introduction - an applicant will have to travel with this letter and at the point of entry, the applicant is expected to hand this letter over to the immigration officer who will officially ask few questions before issuing them their study permit and SIN. Therefore, confirm which of the two letters you received in your MyCIC account as that will help me in advising you further. 2 Likes |

My good people of Nairalanders please you guys should be asking your questions here. I am not doing good to this forum by answering all of your questions outside of this window. I haven't been able to participate fully as usual on this thread for some couple of days now because of so many private messages, SOP's, LOE's, complaints etc. that i receive from prospective applicants here, which I am still battling to respond to all. Please let's keep to the purpose this thread was originally created and drop all our queries here, so that other applicants who share similar situations/cases like yours would learn and make the most of it. When this is done, it becomes a two-way benefit! Frankrobben1 na human being o Abeg.!!!!!! The humble servant to command! You can imagine one person receiving 15 PM's on a daily basis. Merci for me Biko and let's make this work for ourselves. Thanks and Regards. 12 Likes |

waynee2baba:Please is putting the dollar sign $ together with CAD an issue? Why is it so and what is the correct format? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by 5454Darese: 2:35pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
Obehi44:CAD means Canadian dollar, so if you want to use CAD no need to put $ |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by waynee2baba: 2:46pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
Gbam. Not like it's a very big issue anyway 5454Darese: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by raymege: 3:10pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
I don't think its even an issue at all. The most important thing is that he included CAD, so they know he meant Canadian dollar not US Dollar. This people know you are a foreigner, hence such minor things are immaterial. If dem go give you visa such minor issue like using CAD or $CAD wouldn't be an obstacle. Use of Grammar would be more of an issue than the currency symbol. There's no application you pick up that there wouldn't be minor issues. The important thing is ensure the major requirements are met and your SOP is situation specific and communicated effectively. And pray for God's grace, the race is not to the swift. Give your best shot and ask God to do the rest. 1 Like |

5454Darese: Obehi44: Well, as for me I use $ and CAD at same time when correcting any letter and it worked for so many others that I used it for. For example - $5,000CAD. So whichever one is good. It's all about following what you think it's best for you and hope for a positive outcome. 2 Likes |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by raymege: 3:37pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
Exactly ,so long it has CAD whether before or behind the digits along with the $ sign it shouldn't be an issue. When its an issue is if you use just the $(without mentioning CAD) in a Canada application ,it may be translated as USD Frankrobbn1: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 3:53pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
raymege: Valid! However, the study permit application form doesn't create room to input the word CAD when filling out the financial section and funds availability. It's the responsibility of the visa officer's to run a currency conversion to be sure that the applicant or sponsor really have the stated amount in their account. For the SOP it doesn't matter whether the word CAD is in front or back. |

OptimusPrime21:brother please what course did you get for PGD ? Im a HND holder in Elect/Elect Engr am looking for a PGD program in Engineering or ICT courses please do have any school or can i apply for Advance Diploma ? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 4:01pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
ezenwa28: Check for schools like - Conestoga College, Centennial College, Humber College, Cambrian College and Fanshawe College. I would suggest you go for a post graduate diploma/Certificate program that is reasonable in light with your previous studies/current job role this shows a logical progression than an Advanced Diploma. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I don't think that dollar sign is an issue at all. The Canadian money is 'dollar's and dollar only have one sign which is '$' Secondly if you check the letter of acceptance where they stated the estimated tuition fee, it is writing like this " $16,695.41, Cdn " exactly. Not even CAD. So let's not bother about such. I had to go and check just so I am sure. 1 Like |

Chill y'all. The CAD thing isn't an issue at all even though it's not the proper way. There are more important issues to fix regarding his SOP which were pointed out. 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Frankrobbn1: 6:21pm On Aug 15, 2019 |
Olatycoon: Q-1 - Yes you can validate and submit your application anytime. Q-2 - Online and Paper NONE is the best. The difference b/w the two routes is that Online application can be done at your convenience and payment can be completed using your Master card. However, paper route you need to be physically present to submit your application and pay at the VAC counter. Online is cheaper 67k whilst, paper application is a little bit high 68k. As for me, I prefer online route as it's quite easier for me. In a nutshell, the onus is dependent upon you to decide which best suit you whether online or paper route. Be informed that none has added advantage to your application. Q3 - I won't be available at the moment to review your letter... I trust other knowledgeable individuals here can help you to vet the SOP and make possible amendments where applicable. Q4 - Yes you're good to go with the photocopy of the documents and Original bank statements. |

Good Evening Everyone, I am a silent reader hoping to start my Visa application process by the end of this month, I gained admission for a post bac diploma in economics for Winter, I planned to use a travel agent for my visa application cos my neighbours are in Canada and they suggested that I use them, I approached them and presented all documents I need to submit, but here is the bottle neck my sponsor account has 6 Million in it with an inflow of 31Million and outflow of 25Million, I was told I can't use the statement of account that its not good enough. Gurus in the house kindly advise. Cc @Frankrobben1 Thanks in anticipation |
