If you mean locations, then it's obvious. The infrastructure is not there, no one is going to invest and build out a data center without solid adequate power & security. Internet servers can't be backed up with battery & generator. Data centers need solid cooling, and AC takes a lot of power/money. It's just a bad investment for any outside company to come to Naija to setup a data center. Naija companies also don't have big infrastructure requirements. How many companies have need for 200+ servers in the cloud? So it's actually cheaper to just build out in countries that are stable even tho it means terrible connection and latency for those in Naija. 1 Like |
