And if you buy a Tokunboh corolla, will you give it out for 25k?

If yes, how long will it take you to recoup your capital?
See I have money for corolla I won't venture into this business that is so uncertain, unless I want to drive myself. Personally I will discourage anybody I know from venturing into Uber for now.
The truth is only few I mean relatively few drivers that can pay 35k consistently and the car will still not be abused.
And many of these drivers if they tell you the truth you will know that most of them are into cheats, sleep at providence and other streets of Lekki because they don't usually go home.

If you are not ready to do 25 many people will do, that's the sad reality.
Corolla once sold for more than 2 million and many people started importing it, now some even land their own a little above a million (especially the ones with coma) and those ones won't mind since they got cheaper.

You that once sold of your cars nko? What if you had no means of bringing in cars who knows what would be your fate by now? Or you were one of those partners that have only one car? If this business fail I hope you won't have heart attack the way you always attack anybody that doesn't share your opinion.

Point of correction. I sold my cars due to bad management.. This is like beating a dead horse.. The previous manager I had was stealing from me ,and he was using 5k naira engine oil ...the engine had sludge and I had to sell all my cars and started all over .. Selling all my cars had nothing to do wirh the climate of the business.... But now am managing my cars myself with no issue.. As we speak now am getting to bring more cars in for uber ...

No need to remind me I was only stressing that it's not always about collecting 35k or shouting 35k up and down every other things have to be in place. Again it's for you to see that the fact that you survived doesn't mean every other investors will be fortunate, that's the reason you have a lot Naija used corollas some are just few months and the owner is selling already.
Some people even borrowed money they became debtors laslas, some used pensions money to buy car for Uber and at the end stories up and down

Oh wow! Is that how you see it? Well I am not disappointed this is coming from you but i av people around me driving corolla and camry they collected toks at 25k on HP and even rents, it has to do with the mind, and when you dont take loan to do business you plan well and give good offers that suites drivers in a way they will not over work the car. Is that to say that you give out ur honda civic at 30k cos the car too is fuel efficient :-[ woow over 15years old cars that one can easily land in 9ja btw 800k to 1m shocked ???
People get mind o....
Make unna they fear God sha!
Local man cannot can o!

Funny guy.....since the landing cost of a Tokunbo civic is between 800k to 1m naira .. I truly suggest that you should find one my brother... instead of buying all these useless naija used cars for 700k ...better encourage people to go find dealer that will sell them a tokunbo car with excellent condition between that price range of 700k to 1m naira ... it shows me how well you know about cars and car business... anybody that takes your advice or takes you seriously is doing it at his own risk.
Since you are so smart ,do you think it makes since for people spending so much money on cars for uber ? I look at fools out there buying Tokunbo corolla for uber ... how long would it take them to make their money back. You fall my hand this morning bro.. People like you will be praying to God for solution, when God has given you brain to solve help you solve your problem.... Smh.. It is well

My brother no matter how you try to help people, some cant be help.. Nigerians are just one way road. People do follow follow up and down... why are people buying Corolla up and down. A tokunbo Corolla 03 to 05 will cost you around 1.5m to start with.. So you can't tell me that these people are not fortunate enough like me.. I agree I do have an advantage, but they themselves should think outside the box and looks for ways for them to be fortunate like me.. There cars like civic, Kia, Elantra just to name a few .. These cars cost less than a Corolla and these are the cars that they can use for uber ....so please dont come and tell me who is fortunate and who is not... don't come and tell me the resale value of a Corolla o .. Any buyer that knows you selling a naija used corolla that has been under uber will not buy it well.. They may end up buying it for that 600k range o ...Just because it is a Corolla dont tell me people will buy the car well ,after the fact that the car has been used for uber

The future of Ehailing is owner drivers. It will take a while, but it will happen. For now the savings continue

You have been saying that for the longest time, you said that when you and others join the fence .. You said Ehailing was dead when you Join the fence, you said the fares will continue to drop and rental will drop to 25k or even lower .. But uber starting doing their 3% commission after 15 trips prom. Correct me if am wrong uber is now 3% commission for a week after doing 15 trips.. Meaning once u finish your 15 trips for the week ,the next following week is all 3% commission.. Correct me if am wrong..
My point to you is that it is hard to predict the future .. You can only try and prepare.. How many are prepare for the future? In other to prepare for the future you have to make changes and think outside the box ...

Ps ..remember when hybrids cars came out? People were saying that was the future ? Than what happened ? Car companies started building hybrid cars.. How far did that go ? Than Telsa came along with electric cars and Telsa was worth more the General Motors the largest car company in the world.. What happened to Telsa now ? It is hard to predict the future, some predictions are just smoke without aggressive changes.

Oh please shut it

You will use the car for two days and collect 20k. Does that make any sense?

And the driver must bring two verifiable guarantors working in established companies because he wants to drive a Rolls Royce phantom Abi?

look at how you are quoting everyone because nobody has even flashed you talk more of calling.

You better read from page 1 instead of splashing globs of ignorance all over here

My brother you need to stop leading people to the slaughter house... have been shipping cars longer that have been doing uber .. There is now way in Hell a Corolla will land at 1m or little over a million naira . Even the 99 Corolla will not land at that cost whether it gets comma or not .. Corolla at the auction is out of hand my brother. The price they will call for an accidental Corolla will make your blood boil .. Stop with the nonsense and let the professionals give their unbiased opinion on the matter

Thanks Boss. I get it now. net income hovers around 60- 75k. The market determines the rest.
XGhost:

The screenshots I posted are net of uber and taxify commissions.
Weekly target is 90k minimum as in bad as e bad.
Daily target is 15k... 5k for landlord 5k for me.. 5k for fuel and others.
35k for landlord
25k to 35k for me
25 to 30k for fuel.
How I work is aim to make at least 1k for every hour I'm out of the house. So I tie time to earnings, also so I can close as early as possible. So I have it at the back of my mind that I shouldn't work beyond 15 hours to hit 15k. If I don't have up to that, its a bad day. Obviously not all trips are 1k some more some less.
I don't wait beyond 30 mins anywhere...I move, it impacts on fuel but turnover on trips compensates for that. In an earlier post I'd stated that I budget 30kms daily for positioning.
6am start, by 7.30 to 9 I should be looking for destination trip home. If I'm on the island I drive to vi, even if I have to drive empty. I save 1 taxify destination for that cos uber doesn't allow you all the time to set destination especially at rush hour.

A lot of people come here and pontificate about things they know close to nothing about. I call on anyone here to import a car, transport, clear it, register, insure, add a tracker to it and then give it out for £25k a week, If you do, then you are clearly a terrible business man/ woman or at best running a charity. A lot of you are coming here saying you can't accept anything more than 25k..... With all due respect you cannot afford to buy a decent car much less give it out on rental so please stop talking nonsense. There is a good reason why decent investors are leaving this game and it's not all due to bad roads or low fares. Greedy uninformed ignorant drivers are a huge factor and make no mistakes, there are bad owners as well but that is for another day.

I strongly agree with you.
We human beings go wrong many times in predicting the future. Many are already spelling g doom for petrol cars in naija that electric cars are the way but in reality, it might take naija decades to even start patronizing electric cars.

No one can accurately predict future.

Tomorrow still get belle, no one know the kind pikin e go born yet.

Bro no be fight, rental was once 35 and same was said concerning those who were doing 30. You can't fight it, it's not a matter of being a good investor. It started from 60 to 50 to 40 and so forth in fact like I said a lot of people realized it was not what they thought and it's still happening
