Governor Fayemi bans use of English Language during traditional events by bellachibaby(f): 8:28pm On Aug 19, 2019 |
Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi, has banned the use of English language as a means of communication during any traditional function in any part of the state. He gave the directive during the First Ekiti State Arts and Culture Stakeholders’ Forum today August 19th. Represented at the occasion by the Head of Service, Deji Ajayi, the governor said any traditional function in the state must be done speaking only traditional language. “From today, henceforth, the government has banned the speaking of English in any cultural programme. Whoever that will participate in any traditional programme must speak Yoruba or our dialect. We are going to organise Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture in December this year to enhance our capacities in crafts, dancing, weaving and other vocational areas of arts. “We should not forget to teach our children those values that will make Ekiti to remember their heritage and sustain our culture as people” he said See more here https://thickmatch.com/governor-fayemi-bans-use-english-language-traditional-events/ 35 Likes 4 Shares

some people say Igbo aren't united, with the past records of there movements in liberating there region from politicians that are oppressing them, I can say Igbo are the most united tribe follow by Fulani then Hausa, you see we Yoruba, we always backstab a fellow brother, we lick ass of where we are presently eating, we used to abandon a fellow brother in his hard times, we don't know how to speak in one voice, we can sell our birthright or brothers for peanut, we can see how Hausa Shiite and Igbo stood behind their son (elzhaky & Kanu) and how we Yoruba abandon our own son, ask for a drop of water from the ocean of a Yoruba man, he will never give you or else he have something to benefit in return , you'll want to ask why am hiding behind keyboard and not lead a movement to facilitate the release of Sowore. don't forget I said we Yoruba are coward fear fear tribe that will be looking for who will lead the battle for us and to later abandon him when enemy conquer the leader 7 Likes 1 Share |

Kids who are raised by Nigerian parents in Nigeria and yet were bought up speaking nonsense english happens to fail english most. I can't imagine Yoruba being taught in Canada by white men while our kids grow up here without the knowledge Stop giving away your culture all in the name of being western. If the whites gave away their English, you won't be here trying so hard to converse with it. That's why the Asian is always the best in what they do even in universities, they will never trade their language for any studies. 7 Likes |
