NSE Lists Greenwich Alpha ETF by Mrakeli: 3:42am On Aug 20, 2019 |
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), yesterday, announced the listing of the Greenwich Alpha ETF (Greenwich Alpha) by Greenwich Asset Management Limited, on its Daily Official List. This is even as the Greenwich Alpha ETF units were listed at N100 each following an Initial Public Offer (IPO) on Monday. Greenwich Alpha is an open-ended ETF which tracks the NSE 30 Index; an index which constitutes 30 of the most liquid and capitalised stocks trading on the Exchange. It is designed for investors to access the constituent companies of the NSE 30 index, thereby getting the performance of the index. Speaking at the listing in Lagos, the Managing Director, Greenwich Asset Management Limited, Dayo Obisan, said that the Greenwich Alpha ETF Fund is designed for and offered to investors seeking exposure to the Nigerian equities market, particularly to the constituents of the NSE-30 index. He said, “It offers the full benefits of diversification through a single transaction thereby reducing associated transaction cost and helping investors spread their risk. We will continue to encourage retail and institutional investment in this Fund based on its potentials.” Head, Trading Business Division, NSE, Jude Chiemeka, welcomed Greenwich Asset Management Limited to the Exchange’s growing list of ETF providers. https://www.akelicious.net/nse-lists-greenwich-alpha-etf/ 2 Likes 1 Share

GreenWhiteGreen:It means instead of buying shares from one company alone, when you buy this company’s shares you are buying from about 30 different companies. That way, you are spreading the risk and you see your gain or loss at the end of each trading day. 4 Likes |

A good move. Usually, diversification is suitable for institutional investors or high net worth individuals as a tool for capital preservation while making marginal portfolio gains. However, the NSE is relatively volatile, thereby negating the mediocre yields inherent in ETFs. Long story short, it's ideal for growth investors. 1 Like |

upper: Brother if you don't understand the gist, shut up your mouth. They are being listed on the NSE means that they've been in business for a long time. It takes time for a company to be listed on the stock exchange market. Launching there IPO now means they are now a publicly traded company. So the guy you quoted might have been an investor with Green which Alpha but did not get his returns. Monkey, Ask questions before you attack people........ 1 Like |

GreenWhiteGreen:I swear you are funny. You should know to understand that ETF (Exchange Traded Funds) is more like a mutual fund a retail investor like you can invest your small change in order to grow your wealth. Such funds will be managed by Greenwich because they are licensed, asset managers 1 Like |

SocialJustice: What you don't know is bigger than You. Try to be smart and think about that before you disgrace your family. "ETF stands for exchange traded fund, and just like a stock, it is traded on stock exchanges such as NYSE and NASDAQ. " Just if you will even be brilliant enough to understand. Don't be arrogant an studpid at the same time. |
