Yes. Apparently the new rule is one needs to add the quotation from the school which isn't in the required documents on their website.
What do you mean by quotation?

Has any June applicant gotten any update about their visa?
For those who have received theirs, does SA embassy always call for findings?

Hello everyone,

Thanks for your contributions so far.

I'm looking to apply for my child's visa to SA via relative's visa. I'd like to inquire from those that have done it, if they authenticated their child's original birth certificate or the copy of it.

Also, do I need to authenticate our marriage certificate because my wife is also applying for a spousal visa.

Its very urgent.

Thanks in advance

You need to authenticate your child's birth certificate at the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Abuja. Take photocopies as well as the original of the birth certificate along. Both can be authenticated, remember you will be submitting photocopy for the application.

Yes, you need to authenticate the marriage certificate too.

All the best.

You can use your account for both of you. However, make sure you write a letter to indicate that you will cover "all his expenses, including his travel, accommodation, feeding and all other incidental costs that may arise during the trip".

Finally, include a copy of your bank statement for him and a copy of your Passport Data page.

Cheers and all the best.

Incandescent is right. Just to add that if you don't have access to a coloured photocopier, there is one inside VFS Lagos, operated by an independent business owner. Of course, be ready to pay for this, and the cost will be higher than normal. I don't know how much they charge.

Cheers and all the best.

Please note that the following are not for certification in Abuja. Just to add this in case you've missed it.
Your ID document (or PR letter) also needs to be certified. You can get this done at the SA High Commission in Lagos if you are no longer in SA. If you are still in SA, certify it from any police station and scan to them. Please let the stamp show very well if you are doing it in SA. Those VFS guys are something else and they may want to reject the application if the stamp is not showing VERY well.

In short, any document you are sending to them from SA should be certified, aside from your invitation letter to them of course.

PS. Thank you for helping others while also waiting to be helped. That's the spirit.

Who is this your friend? Girlfriend or boyfriend?
Chances are that your application may be granted promptly while your friend's delayed. Just letting you know although I'm not the consular. Just saying based on past experiences. I hope they prove me wrong anyways smiley

Note: For group/family applications; each applicant is required to have these documents

Does that mean i will have to get my bank to print for me the same bank statement for as many applicants i want to travel with in my family or i should do one and make photocopies?...

Pls advice

Thanks in anticipation.

None at the Ministry of Foreign affairs.

But since you are a permanent residence in SA u need to certify your PR.... I was in Nigeria when I applied for my child's relative permit, so I had to go down to the SA embassy to certify. But my husband certified his in SA cos he was there during the period of application.

Good day to you all. I am applying for a study visa and I am planning on submitting in Lagos this week, but I have a question. I just got the Bank Statement of my sponsor yesterday and it was 6 months even though I told him I only needed 3. I want to know if the vfs office in Lagos would accept 6 months, as it is stated on the requirements that only 3 months is required for Lagos submission. I would have gotten a new Bank Statement from my sponsor, but he left the country yesterday to be back September ending which is too late. Can I go ahead with the 6 months statement or I will be turned back? Please, has anyone been in this situation before?

Go and submit. They will accept the 6months statement. Better it is more than to be less. Good luck
