Another side of the story is saying that One of the police vehicle volunteered to clear the road which eventually fell into the laid ambush. So basically, the dept gov wasn't anywhere close to the 5 man team that was killed. They used the 5man as sacrifice to these blood tasty devils, so the dept gov would be unhurt.
