Aladdin 6.5/10

A close remake of the animated movie with a twist on Princess Jasmine's story. Decent performance from the cast. Will Smith managed to cement himself as a new Genie. We now have 2 Genie, Robin Williams and Will Smith, cos it's just stupid to try and choose or compare. The rest of the cast pale in comparison to the previous incarnations of their characters, with the exception of Jasmine, who had changes made to her character in this remake.
But it's overall an entertaining movie. People who have seen the animated movie will be intrigued by the new take on Princess Jasmine and people who haven't are in for a fun ride and a beautiful story.
Naomi Scott's Speechless performance was my highlight of the movie.

P-13 content if well scripted and directed, can be pretty gritty and dark. Two prime examples of this are Hannibal and Sherlock tv series.

Yup, it was aired by NBC, a family News Network, and had a P-13 tag all through it's entire run.

Americans are weird like that. They are perfectly okay with violence on television, but show a little bit of titties, and watch them throw a fit.

not sure v for vendetta counts. they didn't direct - they adapted the screenplay from the comic.though then again, i understand the comic was much darker

The first Matrix was the best, but the sequels plus The Animatrix weren't far off. I don't understand the hate they get. I enjoyed them all.
