You've put the phone in silent mode. Draw down the notification panel and unmute from there.
The dark mode is seriously clashing with many UI elements. The silent dialog below the volume level should normally be grayed out too to indicate your phone is in silent mode, but thanks to dark mode you wouldn't see that.

a Chinese version can be flashed with a global rom.

Just like Nokia x5 having a global version and Chinese version
most difference is in the hardware and specs
a global version will have more LTE bands for example

global rom is just MIUI OS
