Naaaa, only the IMEI part is correct, which in itself a disadvantage. As for rooting, flashing roms etc, it's better on snapdragon devices. I know you are referring to rooting without pc using kingroot and the likes, those days are gone now. Can't even remember the last time I saw someone using an mtk device talking of flashing roms.

I remember when I got my R7. Went to a relatively big phone shop and asked for Redmi 7. The security guard directed me to one lady. Told her what I'm looking for.. You needed to see the look on her face. She directed me to another lady (higher staff) who knows what's up. She told me straight up they don't have it. I was wondering what if I had asked for Xiaomi (pronounced shiaomi)? Her ear for block.
