The Book Of Enoch / Jesus Quoted It And So Did Apostles by pastormustwacc: 4:07pm On Oct 21, 2012 |
In case you are wondering where Jesus quote enoch? Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. (Mat 5:5) The elect shall possess light, joy and peace, and they shall inherit the earth. (Enoch 5:7 {6:9})
the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the son (John 5:22). the principal part of the judgment was assigned to him, the Son of man. (Enoch 69:27 {68:39})
shall inherit everlasting life (Mat. 19:29) those who will inherit eternal life (Enoch 40:9 {40:9})
"Wo unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. (Luke 6:24) Woe to you who are rich, for in your riches have you trusted; but from your riches you shall be removed. (Enoch 94:8 {93:7}).
Ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Mat. 19:28) I will place each of them on a throne of glory (Enoch 108:12 {105:26})
Woe unto that man through whom the Son of man is betrayed! It had been good for that man if he had not been born. (Mat. 26:24) Where will the habitation of sinners be . . . who have rejected the Lord of spirits. It would have been better for them, had they never been born. (Enoch 38:2 {38:2})
between us and you there is a great gulf fixed. (Luke 16:26) by a chasm . . . [are] their souls are separated (Enoch 22: 9,11{22:10,12})
In my Father's house are many mansions (John 14:2) In that day shall the Elect One sit upon a throne of glory, and shall choose their conditions and countless habitations. (Enoch 45:3 {45:3})
that ye may be called the children of light (John 12:36) the good from the generation of light (Enoch 108:11 {105: 25})
the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. (John 4:14) all the thirsty drank, and were filled with wisdom, having their habitation with the righteous, the elect, and the holy. (Enoch 48:1 {48:1})
The one direct quote in the New Testament is by Jude, a brother of Jesus Christ: Jude 1:14-15, quoting Enoch 1:9 {2:1} [1]
"And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, "To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches, which ungodly sinners have spoken against him."
While that is the only referenced quotation in the Bible, there are many indirect references which involve striking similarities. But beware, there are some that believe that the book is false, i leave it for you to decide. 3 Likes |

We first learn of Enoch in Genesis 5 but it leaves us with questions. Hebrews 11 has the answers and Jude quotes Enoch! How did Jude come to know the words of Enoch? They are not in the Bible. The answer of course, is The Book of Enoch. A book which is actually quoted not only by Jude, but also James the natural brother of Jesus. The quote in (Jude 14-15) & (1 Enoch 1:9) is as follows: "In the seventh (generation) from Adam Enoch also prophesied these things, saying: 'Behold, the Lord came with his holy myriads, to execute judgment on all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in such an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners spoke against him'."
What is the Book of Enoch and where did it come from? Enoch was the grandfather of Noah. The Book of Enoch chapter 68:1 "And after that my grandfather Enoch gave me all the secrets in the book and in the parables which had been given to him, and he put them together for me in the words of the book of the parables." This makes it possible for the Book to have survived the flood as its not too hard to accept that Noah would have taken his Great Grandfathers writings with him onto the ark.
The Book of Enoch was extant centuries before the birth of Christ and yet is considered by many to be more Christian in its theology than Jewish. It was considered scripture by many early Christians. The earliest literature of the so-called "Church Fathers" is filled with references to this mysterious book. The early second century "Epistle of Barnabus" makes much use of the Book of Enoch. Second and Third Century "Church Fathers" like Justin Martyr, Irenaeus, Origin and Clement of Alexandria all make use of the Book of Enoch. Tertullian (160-230 C.E) even called the Book of Enoch "Holy Scripture". The Ethiopic Church even added the Book of Enoch to its official canon. It was widely known and read the first three centuries after Christ. This and many other books became discredited after the Council of Laodicea. And being under ban of the authorities, afterwards it gradually passed out of circulation.
At about the time of the Protestant Reformation, there came to be a renewed interest in the Book of Enoch which had long since been lost to the modern world. By the late 1400's rumors began to spread that somewhere a copy of the long lost Book of Enoch might still exist. During this time many books arose claiming to be the long lost book and were later found to be forgeries. The return of the long lost Book of Enoch to the modern western world is credited to the famous explorer James Bruce, who in 1773 returned from six years in Abyssinia with three Ethiopic copies of the lost book. In 1821 Richard Laurence published the first English translation. The famous R.H. Charles edition was published in 1912. In the following years several portions of the Greek text surfaced. Then with the discovery of cave 4 of the Dead Sea Scrolls, seven fragmentary copies of the Aramaic text were discovered.
The Book of Enoch is divided into five basic parts, but it is the The Book of Parables (37-71) which gives scholars the most trouble for it is primarily concerned with a figure called "the messiah"; "the righteous one"; "the chosen one" and "the son of man." Chapter 46:1-2, There I beheld the Ancient of days whose head was like white wool, and with him another, whose countenance resembled that of a man. His countenance was full of grace, like that of one of the holy angels. Then I inquired of one of the angels, who went with me, and who showed me every secret thing, concerning this Son of man; who he was; whence he was; and why he accompanied the Ancient of days. He answered and said to me, This is the Son of man, to whom righteousness belongs; with whom righteousness has dwealt; and who will reveal all the treasures of that which is concealed: for the Lord of spirits has chosen him; and his portion has surpassed all before the Lord of spirits in everlasting uprightness."
The opening verses of the Book of Enoch tell us that the revelations in this book were not meant for Enoch's generation, rather a remote generation, and of course the book would make more sense to the generations after Christ. We know that the early Church made use of the Book of Enoch, but it was then all but lost, until recent times. Perhaps this book was meant for our generation, as it is widely available today after being concealed for over a millennia. (Enoch 1:1-3) The words of the blessing of Enoch, wherewith he blessed the elect and righteous, who will be living in the day of tribulation, when all the wicked and godless are to be removed. And he took up his parable and said -Enoch a righteous man, whose eyes were opened by God, saw the vision of the Holy One in the heavens, which the angels showed me, and from them I heard everything, and from them I understood as I saw, but not for this generation, but for a remote one which is for to come. We can use this thread for that purpose Let me ask you a question Bros. How does the information in the Book of Enoch help our Christian Life? I have read the post up by Pastormustwacc, and I'm wondering, I need to be a better folower of Jesus, doing as He commanded me. I need the grace to love Him with all of my everything and love my neighbor as I love myself. And here is the book of Enoch and reading through it has nothing to do with Spiritual nourishment. So. of what good is it to my Christian walk? Will it build my faith in Christ better than my faith is right now? Will it foster hope in me assuming I'm in a bad place hope wise? What will it do for me? Just the information that It was quoted in the main Bible and that Enoch wrote it. Or the info about Angels and Demons? Aren't we as Christians admonished to pay no attention to the ministry of Angels? Even the good ones? So why bother with this? Just that, one sometimes gets carried away by the excitements and jumps into threads to comment even when it's unnecessary. But, I promised myself not to talk, think, or read abt what won't benefit me Spiritually and mentally. So, I regret making you bring us down here, it's very irrelevant to me. I'm so sorry. Whatever Enoch wrote or did not write this book, it adds nothing to my Christian life. I have the Bible to read and adhere to, if only I can adhere to the teachings from Matt. Chapters 5 to 8, I wld be a Saint. I don't know why I shd go looking for more obscure teachinag. The Life of Angels and Demons is not important to me, since I cannot even on my own partition a good Angel to do anything for me without going through God. What's the point of knowing about them so deeply? I'm very careful about the Deep things of satan, that's why Rebecca Brown's books are kept at a distance. Keep your heart with diligence. Satan knows how delicate the heart is, hence takes advantage of it. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I guess the Christians in the Ethiopian Church are totally wrong to canonize the book as well... I have seen that Christians are not bothered on matters of Spirituality, and would rather stay in their comfort zone of 66 books they were brought up with. And why are you persistent to brand Rebecca's books as a deep things of Satan, especially when you've not read the book. Why are you focusing more on what the kingdom of darkness is capable of? rather than testimonies of victories over them? Despite reading the OP, and seeing Peter and Jude quoted from that book, and also Jesus as well. You regard it as nothing? But I'm pretty sure, if you were raised in an Ethiopian Church, you will suddenly see the book "makes sense". Since it's not what you've read nor accustomed to, it's worthless to you. No need to bother then. Stick to what you're comfortable at. 1 Like |

I noticed someone saying we as Christians are admonished to pay no attention to the ministry of good Angles, but the Bible is full of references of holy people paying very close attention to God's angles. The Bible says they are God's Messengers, but what good is a messanger if the intended audience refused to listen to the message? Also didn't the Blessed Virgin Mary listen to the Angel Gabriel and agree to God's plan for the Incarnation to happen through her? I think we should pay attention to the words of God's Good Angels because the Bible is full of examples of doing just that. I think you might be thinking of Galetions 1:8, but that is about the infallibility of the gospels, and that even if an angel should preach a different gospel that he would be damn to hell. (Joseph Smith comes to mind). I personally think that extra biblical txt like the Book of Enoch are good to read if they don't contradict the Bible. 1 Like |

Trash. Bullshit meant for the toilet.
The mention of Enoch by Jude and Peter is done for the only reason to lambast the ungodly perverting the Gospel with fantasy tales etcetera
The current three variants Book of Enoch, are not the same Book of Enoch peddled about in the first century that the Apostles were against and warning the early believers about it
I already have granted you my blessing, to go ahead relish enjoy reading that bullshit of a cursed book.

There are numerous instances throughout the old and new testaments of the angels of God appearing to men. Numbers 22:31, Revelation 22:8 and many others if you are so inclined to find them. And was not Yeshua himself ministered to by angels in the wilderness? By what or whom did the prophets get their word and prophecies? We should be seeking from God wisdom knowledge and understanding. We should be fervent in our search for knowledge of those things that are not only holy teachings of the Lord, but of those forces which work against him/us. To read things occult or esoteric does not mean you worship or practice them, but it gives you better understanding of the ancient evil which controls our world to this day. And where to spot and call it out for what it is. Does not the Lord himself call out by name Baal, Astaroth, Moloch, etc.? By your account all you need is Matthew 5-8. Surely you must know that without reading the full account of God, from Genesis to Revelation, you will be totally lost in your understanding of why and how we have been given the gift we are given. One CANNOT fully understand the gospel and truth without understanding the old testament. We have been given the knowledge of those things which the prophets spoke. Yeshua himself spoke with Moses and Elijah. Why the defensive and dismissive view of something which possibly gives greater insight into the truth of our world? We are taught that we live on a spinning ball rotating around the sun (which is 93 million miles away) and hurling through space along with a million other galaxies. The book of Enoch says the sun rises and sets in six portals in its seasons, and that there are caves of the dead UNDER our earth. How can this not be of interest and possible use to help shape your wisdom of God's creation? Is it inspired of God? I can't say for 100% surety. But I know it gives me a much different point of view which is not expounded upon in the Bible as we know it. I read and find all that I can of things spiritual and occult, and let the Spirit of the Lord guide me as it may. Yes, all we need to enter Life can be found in the Bible. YeshuaMessiah:
(Although there is a large portion of deception therein as well, as the Spirit has taught me.) But to regard anything else as useless is lacking wisdom. Seek and ye shall find. Wow. I wish I was in the mood to react to all you ssid here. Maybe you shld tell me.any one person in the Bible who went for quest of meeting and talking to.Angels. Only God decided whom or how and when the eyes of His people shd be ooned for them to see Angels. And, pls, when you wsnt to quote people, do.so correctly. I never said all i read or I need from the Bible is Matt 5-8. I said, if only I can keep to the Teachings contained there. Sir, we choose different paths. What you are looking for is not what I am looking for, so pls continue. |
