If the jamb change of course form is still on, go for it immediately and apply a school that's yet to conduct her postume or better still one that does not conduct at all(make sure your state of origin falls within the catchment area). Goodluck

Truly speaking, my dear Jerry, 286 is just enough, on the least overrule of "the Nigeria factor", to get you MBBS.

Stop the tears from welling up your eyes, because examination, in my perspective, is not the truest test of knowledge.

You're not a raff!

That your PUTME performance turned out a negative vector against your expectation doesn't give grounds to the fact that you are a failure, never!

Ipso facto, I advise you to get the best direction needed from this most efficacious and potent formula:

KNEEOLOGY

that is,

Discuss it with Jesus, and He will give you the compass.

Additionally, find out if UDUSOK has rounded up its admission post-JAMB screening and if it hasn't done that yet, quickly and unhesitantly opt in.

UNIUYO, too, has postponed its post-JAMB screening by one week, the period within which I think you can change your institution to it if your WASSCE result is strong.
SlIf your O'Level result is not very strong, don't risk it with Uniuyo; it is damn competitive, and prayer can upturn things in your favour.

And don't forget our most active formula: KNEEOLOGY, prayer!

If you can afford about #2million for MBBS, I propose to you Gregory University Uturu in Abia State, a private university that's accredited to run MBBS with no strikes, no delays, 6 years and you'll be done.

But if your financial capability can't equate that humongous amount, folks have suggested ESUT; kindly give it a shot.

In all, let your passion be the driver that will shoot you to the centre of your own solar system; never ever contemplate an action you may end up regretting because you have not got what you wanted: MBBS.

John Maxwell, in his book "TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH" describes SUCCESS as you "failing without losing enthusiasm".

Failure doesn't mean you have failed, it only means you have not succeeded yet; don't plunge yourself into utter dejection: you can still succeed.

Abraham Lincoln became US president after about 6 unsuccessful trials that maximated in his final presidency.

Others have got MBBS after failed attempts of about 6 times.

Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon of Edo State was denied his pass in WAEC for about 6 times because of his bad lexicograph before he finally made it, the reason for which, if course, he couldn't get into the university for those years.

President Goodluck Jonathan has a story that can send goose pimples throughout your exodermis before he succeeded: he was a shoeless student, with a firewood-chopping mother selling just firewoods to see him through university.

Apparently, there may be something you're not doing right which is the reason you've not got MBBS after 4 years of unsuccessful trials.

Come on bro., keep your head cool and figure out why you have not got it.

Is there something you need to do to improve yourself which you have not done?

Is there a subject you're having difficulty passing with good grades?

Are there special, integral and topics with frequently asked questions on them which you have not tackled?
Bro., you may lie to me, but you can never lie to yourself.
Be sincere to yourself and tell yourself the truth of what you have not done right which you needed to have done right.
Even if it hurts, just do it right, provided it gives you your passion – MBBS.

And my esteemed Jerry, unless you do that thing right, you may not get MBBS(fact), and even if you get it, you will still meet it in the latter part of your doctoral life.

I must be honest to you.

You studied hard and prepared well for your UTME, but did you still continue in that same spirit through PUTME?

There's always a price for every prize tag; get ready to pay it.

Just figure out where your weakness is and build upon that weakness and gain strength.

Life itself is meant to throw stones at you; but a great man receives those stones and use them to build a platform for himself; methinks that is what MBBS is trying to teach you.

Those that have been frustrated in their pursuit of MBBS have always turned out to be very good doctors, only after the have learned the lessons of ACCEPTANCE through REJECTION and PERFECTION through IMPERFECTION.

I am also a struggled medical aspirant like you who has benefited greatly from the largesse of our seniors intelligent contributions on this thread, they have been very wonderful, always ready to assist with outstretched arms of wordly encouragements; and now, my testimony is on the way.

Work on your self using the formula of KNEEOLOGY and prayer, cemented with finding out what you have not done right after these 4 years of trying to get MBBS without success.

I believe God wants you to be a good doctor, that is why he is keeping you back to prepare enough on your knees and on yourself and on your syllabus.

Do well to use Google to search out schools that haven't conducted PUTME yet and key in.

Don't think you have failed.

Don't think you have been cursed.

Don't blame anyone or yourself for it.

Accept the fact that it has happened and be ready to improve yourself.

The time is almost eved; rush to use Google for those schools that may still give you hope and settle it up by breaking down on Jesus's feet and putting everything on his shoulders.

Don't doubt that you will be admitted this year: only believe, all things are possible.

Doing the above outlined will see me together with you on your matriculations day.

I can't wait to snap with you in your matric gown next year.

See you at the bank!

Gratias!
Wow. I really cannot believe there are still people who can devote so much time to make such long post for someone who isn't even related to them. This post made a lot of sense and my spirit has been lifted. Thank you so much. I really appreciate this. I will do as you have said. God bless you sir.

Sad i didn't come across this post earlier. I would have advised you switch to UNN. The postume is something you can excel at easily with not so much effort since you've been in this for a while. I say that because a lot of jamb past questions are usually repeated and i guess you might be familiar with them by now. That could have pulled your mark higher. I scored 333 last year with very little effort(believe me). Secondly, states, where the number of applicants isn't much, are favored with a lower cutoff mark. Ogun is one of such states. Anyway whatever you decide in the end, I wish you the best. Just be smart this time.

This is an overview of courses offered by dental surgery students from first to sixth year (For the newly admitted and Aspirants).

Dental surgery/Dentistry is the only specialty of Medicine which has carved out its own niche, hence candidates begin to specialize in the orofacial region from undergraduate, studying Medicine alongside (together with Medicine students from first to fifth year, then focusing only on the maxillofacial region in sixth year), in Colleges of Medicine in various Universities.

It has been described as the Most strenuous course owing to its dual natured training (Medicine and Dental surgery). At the end they graduate as Doctors and Dental surgeons with a Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS).

Many are yet unaware of the demands and intricacies of this course, including some newly admitted dental surgery students. Some think dentists are all about the teeth alone whereas others confuse them with other paramedics or dental auxiliaries (like dental technologists, dental therapists, dental nurses or assistants etc) who are trained in Schools of dental technology, hence the need for this enlightenment.

This enlightenment is for both dental surgery students, aspirants and others.

-First year:
This is called Pre-Med, as candidates are yet to begin core medical courses. They do basic biological and Physical sciences (Physics, chemistry, Biology, Zoology etc etc). Same courses as Medicine Students.

This post will be centered on the Medical Courses (second to sixth year).

-Second- Third year:

*2nd BDS part A courses:
Oral biology (Oral Anatomy and Oral Physiology).

*2nd BDS part B/2ndMBBS courses: Anatomy (Gross Anatomy, Embryology, Histology), Physiology, Medical Biochemistry.

By the second year, they write their 2nd BDS part A and by the 3rd year they write the 2nd MBBS exam (also called BDS part B) together with Medicine students.

-4th year courses:
*3rd BDS part A/3rd MBBS courses:
.Pharmacology and Therapeutics
. Pathology (Medical Microbiology, Chemical pathology, Hematology, Morbid Anatomy).

At the end they write the 3rd BDS part A/3rd MBBS together with the Medicine students.

*3rd BDS part B courses are as follows:
.Operative techniques
. Prosthetic techniques
. Science of Dental Materials

-5th year:

*They start short postings and lectures in the following Medical and surgical specialties:
Dermatology, ENT (Otorhinolaryngology), Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine.

*After which they proceed with other postings and Lectures in other specialties in internal Medicine and Surgery.

.Internal Medicine: Cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, Neurology, Nephrology, Respiratory Medicine (pulmonology) and Rheumatology.

.Surgery: General surgery, Orthopedic surgery, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic surgery, Plastic surgery and Pediatric surgery.

After this they write the 4th BDS (or 5th MB) exam organized by the Faculty of Medical sciences/Medicine.

Those who survive till this stage are then ushered into the final phase of Dental surgery training with another rigorous Academic bombardments in about ten specialties of Dentistry/Dental surgery.

-6th year:

*5th BDS courses are:
.Oral and maxillofacial surgery
. Oral Pathology
.Oral Medicine
.Prosthetic dentistry (Prosthodontics)
.Restorative dentistry/Endodontics
.Pediatric dentistry (pedodontics)
.Orthodontics (dentofacial orthopedics)
.Periodontology
.Community dentistry
.Oral and maxillofacial radiology

After which they write the 5th BDS exam at the end of the session. Can sometimes take up to 7 years.

Tests will be written per semester on various courses before the Main exams at the end of the session.

Those who pass the final BDS exam are then inducted into the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) as Doctors and Dental surgeons together with their Medical colleagues.

NB: Each dental surgery program in various universities has its peculiarities, but differences are not much. That above is for UNN as at the time of posting this.

This is a very rigorous training that have had a lot of people thrown out of the Medical school. Only very few end up surviving at the end. But, for the determined, it can be done.

For the Dental surgery students, remain focused, avoid distractions (social media, women etc), work hard and smart, pray too. It can be done.

Aspirants, work hard and smart too, never give up until you get the best out of life.

Which school is this?

Obviously, the schedule is good. Uniport dental school begin dental courses in year5 so dental students end up spending 6yrs 6months in school... 600level is 18months(1yr 6mths).

It's not 2nd MBBS. 2nd MBBS is in third year. 2nd BDS (part A) is taken in 2nd year, while 2nd BDS (part B) which is 2nd MBBS is in 3rd year as I wrote earlier.
