exactly, in such situation thats were you see the best of a good central midfielder/box to box midfielder. his talent and passing range will come in to play to detect and conduct play.

the major culprit to this regard in the team is etebo but i won't blame him because he has never been a polished and refined player but what works for him is his agility and work rate.

the perfect fit at the afcon would have been john obi mikel but with etebo's absence ndidi will be vulnerable and over worked as well because mikel lacks that energy to cover grounds up and down the pitch.

alot are clamoring for a number 10 who will bring flair and trickery but with alex iwobi in that position we are covered.

days are gone when players like jj were tolerated by coaches, nowadays coaches go for AM midfielders who are more direct,purposeful with good passing,shooting abilities and high work rate.

the aforementioned qualities is why no big club tried to get jj even when his talent was obvious. if jj was more direct with good work rate he would have been the best AM to grace the game with his presence.

creativity must not come from the middle, teams that lack creative midfielders use their flanks effectively to compliment that. i don't see the current super eagles team as a team that lacks creativity.

iwobi and chukwueze are good creative players but what will compliment their effort is a good cm/b2b midfielder who can easily move the ball forward with ease and as well distract teams who will work to nullify chukwueze and iwobi's creative threats in the team.

Rohr is trying to use him as a holding midfielder and its not working ..the fact that Etebo was one of our best player at the world cup and AFCON is proof of how good he is

What we need most as a matter of urgency in the midfield is a ball basser and a ball distributor. The one that can read games, dictate the pace and find/create scoring opportunities.

Ofoborh is a CM. He just got promoted to the first team, and was part of their pre-season football. He has a knack for making pinpoint passes.

You have no evidence to prove what you have just said, maybe it's his lack of abilities is restricting him to defensive contributions

Rohr needs to stop using the double pivot and give each midfielder their individual role out there.

Also CM, we have enough CMs already, I believe he is low on the queue of those Rohr will consider. Any outstanding AM right now will get a straight pass into the SE i believe.

I read that they were planning to replace 13 players days after the aiteo cup final. I'm not sure if they did but a move like that so close to a competition is quite silly.

As long as he is either deployed as a CM,DM or AM depending on how his coach set up the team’s play, I don’t see the substance in this argument. Unless we are arguing how Rohr will utilize him. Why don’t we wait and see?

his pace and agility propels him to drive the ball forward from the midfield to initiate attacks.

he is primarily a cm but can be deployed deeper or more advanced

Well the thing is that they got relegated also. I personally don't think they should be in this competition. Normally the ticket should have gone to the next highest team since Kano was already in the continent.
