Teshoma1111: Ohhh... you should have routed your trip through Abuja and return leg to Lagos to enjoy the 22 hours visa free and hotel stay in Dubai for little difference to the fare. |

seyewest: Lagos do enjoy that too if the available flight is 8hrs+ (without shorter flights) 1 Like |

ayenikunle: 2 daily Emirates flights leave from Lagos everyday, it can only happen for flights going to California, Houston and Florida. |

seyewest: Actually, 3 Emirates flights now leave Lagos daily. Even for flights to Houston, there is the option of a 1 hour lay over. |

Hello everyone...I'll be travelling to the U.S next week with my 4 kids, and we intend staying for 2 weeks. I agreed to carry some things to my sister who lives in the states, so i might end up carrying up to 5 suitcases. Would that be a problem at the POE since we would be there for just 2 weeks? Would they ask why we are carrying up to 5 bags? |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by seyewest(m): 1:32pm On Aug 24, 2019 |
PinkSunset: I hope you will be the one packing the bag and since you're more than 4 passenger 5 suitcases is not too much. 1 Like |

PinkSunset: If you had told the VO during ur interview that u knew no one or had no one in the states it might be a problem if u show up at POE with 5 bags saying they're for someone. Secondly the contents of all 4 bags matter oh! If u feel this might hold u up at secondary inspection for hours then u might wanna rethink that move...those homeland officers aint playing these days! |

Annypooh: They're four, I see no big deal in traveling with 5 suitcase and apart from food items I hope she she's not traveling with load of weave on, human hair and fashion accessories to sell because those items are red flag that can get someone deported. 1 Like |

PinkSunset:No weave, wigs, attachment except for personal use. Anything that looks like commercial quantity please stay clear. The contents of your box matter a lot. Personally I travel light but come back heavy.. That should be the case for a tourist. Except you don't want to shop, then you explain that if you are asked at Poe 1 Like |

I like to travel light as well...if not for my sister's luggages, i would travel with only 3 or even 2 boxes and come back to Nigeria with 8 . I'm going with only 2 personal wigs...no attachments. Thanks for your input. flourishing247: 1 Like |

ysteph: it was an omission and the reason was because Emirates used to do 2 daily flight to Boston and just discovered it has been reduced to 1 daily flight. There was no intention to mislead anybody. 2 Likes |

I got into the U.S with my kids 3 days ago. Los Angeles international airport. CBP Officer : Are you here for business or pleasure? ME : Pleasure/ vacation. CBP Officer : How long are you staying? ME : We leave on the 17th of Sept, so approx. 19 days. He starts stamping our passports. CBP Officer : How much do you have with you? ME : $2,000. My sister has my $1,000. CBP Officer : In your form you declared something..... ME : Yes. I'm carrying foodstuff for my sister....we would be staying with her. CBP Officer : Ok. (Hands me our passports). We got our luggage and the officer sent us to Agricultural processing for our foodstuff. We passed our bags through the scanner but they were not opened or checked. We were stamped in for 6 months. 10 Likes |

Hello house. For a first time visitor to the US, who has done hotel booking, how does one move around? Does our regular gtb atm card work over there? Can I use Uber or lyft around? I hear buses are not so common. 1 Like |
Re: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by fkj950ax(m): 10:03am On Sep 14, 2019 |
Teshoma1111: Which State are you visiting in US? Yes. GTB works. Yes there is Uber/Lyft If you don't know the road network, taking buses won't be easy. Even a Lagos resident going to Enugu for the first time can not use bus to move around. When is your travel date so we can expect PoE transcript :-) |
