To be honest, Ike shouldn't have entertained the thoughts of her leaving. What he should have said is, you're not leaving babe you'll be safe. Saying "if you leave..." Mercy and Ike are two dangerously ambitious people who thought they would play each other but are caught up in their feelings, both wondering if the other is still acting or if it is real, especially on the part of Mercy.

Lol, I pity the two of them but I pity naysayers more. Pay no mind to their mindless banters.

I won't even lie, I wanted to squeeze mercy's neck when she was overeacting and hurling insults at Ike for saying "if you leave, ..."
I remember a scene in desperate housewife where Lynette asked her husband Tom what he would do with his life "if she passes on". Tom, in his most purest of answers, assured her he loves her and nothing like that would happen, but if that happens, he would move on and maybe get another wife.
Lynette went haywire, she wanted Tom to say his life would be over if she dies. Lol...funny right?

Mercy felt like that this night. She is still not sure of Ike's love profession as she is not sure of how badly her heart is betraying her. Bottom line, when you see them quarrelling and hurling insults at each other, be like me, laugh it off, call them bluffs, do not take them serious, their confused bond would still find a way to bring them back together...all insults forgotten like it never happened.
