When Obasanjo was in power, tribalism was not this bad even when Goodluck was there except his last days in power.
APC brought in ethnicity and religion into Nigeria's politics and sadly, they have come to stay.
During the campaign for the 2015 election, we still remember when Patience Jonathan called Buhari brainless, how she called northerners almajiris, how VP Sambo told northerners not to vote for Buhari because his vice Osibanjo is a pastor and has 1000 churches, how GEJ called Yoruba leaders motor park touts, how Peter Obi and other PDP enthusiasts claimed that APC was an Islamic terrorist party and many more divisive things done PDP then.
Channel your anger to PDP, same PDP that used the second Niger bridge for campaign but never did anything but work has started as we speak, abandoned federal roads in the SE because of hate

The truth is igbos are now more united than before ..have u seen how fast owerri and enugu is opening up ?

You before this administration.. majority of igbos have not had any relationship with the west..and don't really understand the deep hatred and envy..that goes on..and their place in Nigeria ..chiefly cause by Lagos - ibadan express way press.

with the coming of technology and free access to Internet..it made much things clearer..to the business man in Onitsha main market..to the woman selling okpa at ninth mile...the marketer in alialia ..and hustlers at Douglas..

Now before now..many igbos ladies do marry yoruba's and other tribe..what's happening now..how many of those marriages do take place..nwa the truth is open to all now.

Most eastern companies own by igbos outside the country is gradually buying up lands for relocation..while some have relocated already..
Observe Nairaland of 2006.. when Seun started.. tribalism has always been there though..but it was all based on Biafra civil war..that was the bane then..today everything on nairaland has changed truth is out in the open..that's why you see actions and reactions..

Carefully reading comments of non igbos both on Facebook, Twitter and Nairaland ,I can confidently say that for the Igbos to succeed in life and have a place in this world , they need to have their own separate Nation. There is no need for pretext because all I can see is that no matter what the Igbos do it would never be appreciated and as I can see it they only want them to be subjucated and become loyal slaves which is not how God created us . With Nigeria as a country there is no future for the Igbos. No matter how political correct we want to be.all they are out for is blood. I lost faith in Nigeria years ago. It's only a matter of time before shit hits the fan. And it would happen in our generation or next.
When Igbos were insulting others and writing ill about others, where were you oga judge, you now want to form a victim after victimising others

People know me here on nairaland i was so liberal most of my igbo brothers question my igboness

The igbo man is unique ,the igbo man position is something igbos dont understand, for u to understand how other people feel about us

Imagine there is an area in enugu with super fine house and very expensive and hsusas own most of the houses

Imagine most super market in enugu to go to pay n u see its own but an hausa man

Ur big and pharmacy stores are own by hausa men

The finest girls in enugu are hausa n only role with hausa guys

In your school in enugu hausa guys dominate
I hope we now get the picture

Hatred is built over years ,most people here hate igbos for one reason or the other and finally see politics as the only place they can pay igbos back

If an igbo man become president its over there is no where to hold an igbo man again ,

The hate is national ,they try to justify it ,even them cant , south south (remove akwa cross ) beofore my family bought land in bayelsa we had to hide under an someone from bayelsa ...south south only step back the hate after 2011 and 2015 that they saw the true igbo, south west ,middle belt seem cool now ...fulani dont like us because they cant manipulate us
Hausa care less

There is nothing u can do to please them
Cry cry baby, forming a victim after insulting others, so your family went ahead to buy land even after they know about PH abandoned property wahala.
Continue shouting for Biafra and see that land seized forever with no refund back

Igbo kwenu! Kwenu!!

Which Nigerians?

Yoruba celebrated that you killed Akintola, Ademoyega and his pregnant wife, Sodeinde?

Abi na Hausa people celebrate after you killed Balewa, Bello, Maimalari?

OP, I wan know the Nigerians that celebrated your cold hearted treatment of your fellow country men.

Read history. No region was happy with their leaders. The mistake of the plotters was that Igbo leaders were not killed. Killing Maimalari was very unnecessary if you ask me. The plotters were young and as most young people don't always think heavily through every decision. Nigerians were happy until the week after when the news started to announce those killed and those who killed and the name watchers started to link tribe to the matter and rumors started spreading. That was when the joy ended. This is an extract from an article to understand why at first some parts of the North were happy and northern soldiers were able to pull the trigger without mutiny on Major Kaduna;

"After power was transferred to nationals and sir Ahmadu Bello, the late sardauna of Sokoto, became premier of the northern region, non-muslim communities were denied portable water, roads, post offices, schools, hospitals, and access to civil service absorption. Under the premiership of late sir Ahmadu Bello, forcible conversions were enforced. From 1961 till he died in 1966, sir Ahmadu Bello went on annual Islamization drives all over the northern region. Traditional rulership of communities became a preserve of only muslims. The resistance against muslim traditional rulers led to the Tiv riots between 1960-64, and restiveness in old Gongola state (today’s Adamawa and Taraba states), southern Kaduna (Kafachan), Tafawa Balewa (Bauchi state), and Plateau state. The late sardauna promise of “dipping the koran into the sea” has continued unabated till date by consistent terror attacks and killings in the middle belt followed by movements by new communities of Hausa Fulani into the middle belt all the way down to the south states near the Atlantic Ocean"

You have a good point and I think I will like to learn some things from you. I agree maybe some support with other resources but I am yet to see any. I also want to understand, if a referendum is granted today and Biafra becomes a republic how do we;
Survive a landlocked country surrounded by enemies who will charge us dearly to use their ports because I know for sure the Niger Delta will not be part of Biafra this time. State creation has split the old Biafran block and even during the war the minority nations felt dominated by the Igbos. Secondly, how are you sure another round of oppression will not begin with the Nnewi man looking down on the Abakaliki man and so on. The Igbos are not very united. Lastly, who will lead? which Igbo politician currently can match up to the likes of Alex Ekwueme and Micheal Okpara?
I never want to respond to u because I knew u create this new account for a purpose and it's basically because u want to troll the Igbo tribe.

Ur topic say igbo's Nigeria most misunderstood tribe. While Ur comments are basically against the supposed explanation of how igbo's are been misunderstood.

U were biase in Ur write up. I believe u are deliberately repeating Ur self to achieve Ur aim.

I want to respond to some of Ur ALLEGATIONS.
The comment that it's only tour that are coming out to support IPOB is a lie, Obasanjo made the same comment 4yrs ago and IPOB in diopora members has dispute it by naming their occupations, the company and country where they work and live, likewise the IPOB home base too.

I have many responses but let me address this Ur last sentence.

The fact u claimed that Igbo uncles don't help does not subject to igbo's alone. Infact it's a general things in AFRICA, still majority of our Igbo uncles do help their siblings. 70 to 80% of igbo's were somehow trained by their uncles. Do Ur research well.

THERE is no tribe that love's them selves like the Igbo tribe. I will explain with points.
1) It's only the Igbo tribe u will see when, for example an IMO man or woman die in China the Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, Abia, IMO, even Delta Igbo will come around and contribute to take his or her corpse home for burial.

2) It's only Igbo tribe u will see someone from Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi, IMO Abia. That will go to a distant state within the SE and took a servant, someone he didn't have a relationship with. To stay with him, feed him, clothes him, and after some years settled him with a good amount of money so he can help his own family.

3)It only in Igbo tribe u will a servant whom became master after his apprenticeship took his immediate younger one and teach him his line of business.

4)It's only the Igbo man that will marry his wife, she will be allowed to take at least one of her sibling along for the husband to help train him or her.

I can still go on and on.
Stop the Allegations that we don't love our selves it's a propaganda to disunite us.

Less I forgot we are not afraid of been Landlock. Some rich western countries like AUTRIA and LUXEMBOURG are also land lock counties and they are doing fine more than the whole AFRICA combined

We warned earlier when Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB and you and your likes were busy calling others unprintable names, you even called Igbos who disagreed with your approach names, now you, Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB have all realized that you've all lost it you are now crying and claiming to be a victim of hate.

IPOB within the last few years had really brought up serious hate between Igbos and between Igbos and other Nigerians.
Uwazurike had called Igbos the most foolish ethnic group,

Asari Dokubo called Igbos slaves to the Ijaws,

Lagos state has made it a law that before you can be admitted into any state owned higher institution in the state, you must have a credit in Yoruba language,

We now have Iyaloja and Babaloja as leaders in Igbo dominated markets in Lagos,

The north has issued a quite notice to the Igbos to leave the north twice in the last two years but thank God for Igbo leaders going to beg them,

I'm sure people like Ekwemadu, Abaribe, governors of the SE, Obi of Onitsha, Eze Nri, Yorubas, Hausa/Fulanis would never want anything to do with IPOB forever.

You started the hate that we warned against earlier and it has started so gear up and stop complaining

Of course you don't have to see those that support with other resources.
In addressing your concerns you need to clarify what you mean by Niger Delta. Are you referring to the geopolitical zone of the south South or the oil producing states. In the case of being surrounded by 'enemies', I don't think some southern states would charge us dearly to use their ports besides there have always been a cordial trade relationship between the igbos and her southern neighbors to the Atlantic.
It is also a wrong notion to assert that the igbos are not very united. A confederation will sufficiently answer both the question of oppression and that of a powerful figure ruling at the center as more attention will be paid to each confederating unit/state.
