Other serious countries should start to review their foreign policies as as to benefit immensely from the impending trade war between the two giants.

I hope authorities in Nigeria are scheming too

Who among them do you think it will affect negatively most?

Time for Africa to tighten up our foreign policies and not go cap in hand to these countries.

Let's play the proverbial beautiful bride for once and see how China and America will be on their knees for us.

Lol,calm down. Africa needs the developed world more than it needs Africa.

Ma'am, I beg to disagree.

Africa can make do without the so called developed world as it stands.

No country small or big is willing to do anything for any other country without any strings attached and that's what the Trojan gifts the western world do to us as Africans.

Singapore is a classic example of country that took its status from a third world country to a developed country without relying on the western Trojan gifts.

Were you talking about gifts or trade?
Re: Can USA Win This Trade War Between USA And China? by PlayerMeji: 8:55am On Aug 27, 2019
Sadly, I meant both.

Ma'am, no country will allow its economy to be exploited like African countries are in the West.

These countries that don't allow their economies to be exploited by the west, well guess what, they have a certain level of development and industrialization which makes them self sufficient to an extent, meaning they can go to the negotiating table with something tangible. Can you say the same of most African countries?

Interestingly, everyone has something to trade with. Africa has its raw materials: while Saudi Arabia had its oil they were able to negotiate deals that worked for their economy...

Concerning country exploitation Chinese govt. are good at it. Over 70% of what China export to USA today, at as 2006 were manufactured by USA and export to other country

Of course there's always something to trade with but is it tangible, is it a unique product that cannot be bought elsewhere or even if it could,at the same quality or a better quality. Also, can the country do without selling and still be self-sufficient.
That is the problem with African countries, exportation is the lifeblood of most nations in sub-Saharan Africa and the west knows this. These same countries also lack self-sufficiency hence are also heavily dependent on imports for even basic amenities.

Now if you were a businessman who had to negotiate a deal with another businessman like Africa, who do you think would have the upper hand on the negotiating table? You or the other?

As much as I would want to agree with you, I keep finding myself disagreeing with your points like you wrote Exportation is Sub-Saharan Africa's lifeblood, ma'am, I don't agree completely because no country thrives on importation.

Therefore, Exportation is basically every country's largest form of revenue. That's what Trump is willing to change as successive administrations before him tried to upturn the trade deficits to China to no avail because it was hurting the economy.

My original point was that it's high time African leaders took the initiative to develop value added products that would make us gain more not by sending raw materials uniquely or not (just saying) but finished and semi-finished products that would trade favorably anywhere in the world.

Missy, I think Africa is being exploited because we can't add value to our products and when we trade with these good-looking, well-suited fellas we are always left bloodied because of the cutthroat deals we bring back.

Just my two kobos.

That has been my point all along and what i meant by Africa needing the west more than the west needs Africa. The result of this is just why we are always left bloodied from cutthroat deals.
I get your point nonetheless tho.
