yiu are not living oga. you are just existing.

Money should be a means to an end and not an end in itself.

This is what the bible describes as the bottomless pit.

Insatiable accumulation of wealth to the extent you deprive yourself some fun once in a while.

What you gain at the sprint, you lose at the curve

You people really need to understand that the idea of fun is relative.

For some people, their own idea of fun is "carrying" different women. For some others, it could be drinking and smoking or eating.

Whereas for some, it could be hanging out with friends.

There are some people that their idea of fun is seeing their money growing. It just makes them happy.

As long as I'm concerned, no idea of fun is greater than the other. So, you referring to his life as "not living" is wrong on your part. Let's be guided, please.

I still stand by my comment. NOBODY unwinds or has fun watching his money grow. These are two parallel lines

seeing the money growing up gives me the maximum happiness.

I even stopped my swimming hobby just to keep that 1k and add to mmf and Tbills.

D*MN! My account used to show negative (900#) once upon a time... And I used to be angry!

But today.. I empty my account into mmf and smile when I have no money to spend.

LOL... No girlfriend, no smoking, no drinking, no visiting "friends", no unnecessary journeys, no big treats..

JUST CANDY CRUSH AFTER DINNER and some MOVIES/VIDEOS
And a heavy dose of NAIRALAND /Seun

The bolded got me Cringed... The type that switch off the car while in the hold up to safe fuel? Bro work, safe, then go get those things your heart desires, its just one life. Draft your spending culture (weekly/monthly) that won't put holes in your savings . A supposed richest man in my street has only a car, old 504 Peugeot,he only drive it on Sundays,i wonder how he enjoys his money cos he's looking worn-out already. Tbs has a way of making someone holds back in spending, especially investors with the mindset of attaining a future target. But all d same, we still need to refresh n ball a bit.

Fun lies on the mind of the beholder, a bottle of good palmwine is 100 naira and i take max of 3 bottles. Somebody else might buy 250k a bottle drink and be deceived that he is balling more than me. Am running my race, no competition. If am drinking beer, i like it in an open space with naturally breeze and I realized that prize is less compared to an ac room. Bottom line is, you might drink your 250k a bottle drink and still not get satisfied. Balling is balling, it depends on your believe. Dont get it twisted, i buy expensive drinks for my guest at their request once in a while but I dont patronize chemical intakes. I do natural.

I think there's a perspective people are missing.

For some, like me, not having the fun that most people trip for now is not as a result of being a sufferhead that only wants to see money grow.

It's because of a recognition that I have more exquisite taste when it comes to fun and that forgoing today's fun and investing the money will help the real fun come faster, and enable me to enjoy it for longer.

When I'm worth billions and have retired from active work by age 50, 60 - what's to stop me from "balling" across countries multiple times a day cheesy, drinking the finest champagne in the swankiest clubs and doing all the other things I want without concern?

Every 100k I don't spend by refusing an invitation to go clubbing brings that day a day, week or month closer, so it's a really easy choice.

Like @grupo balling is relative....no competition, just general standards of self satisfaction and relaxation.

What u call enjoyment, I may call poison and vic versa.

I only spend TB interest from saved profits from my hussle. If only to ensure that my kids get a better start, thats enough satisfaction(balling) ;Dfor me.

But i have a plan.....if my capital gets to a certain point I could begin to flex , knowing that the homefront is covered

But for now, I spend only on routine daily needs not wants and seeing my capital grow gives me a lot of satisfaction and confidence.

the money is growing to achieve a goal...

Goal.. 100k...check!
Goal.. 200k...check!
Goal.. 300k..check!
Goal.. 500k...check!
Goal.. 700k...loading...

Do you know how Japan grew to become a world power in a very short time?

GOTO youtube and search for "visualpolitik"
You will see a video on that.

Secondly... Mhen, do you know how terrible it feels to have Less than 100k in your account?

Hack! I love to know I can have access to that cash in case of genuine opportunity..

Not to regret because I had "fun" with some "friends" or at a clubhouse with unknown entities.

All that money would have been wasted on new clothes, shoes, expensive perf, flights, and other unnecessary brouhaha...

Tbills changed all that stupid spendthrift lifestyle jorr...

P. S: don't worry, when my Tbills interests start paying my house rent completely, I will surely announce it here by God's grace!

Now this is what am talking about...

I have a family friend that stays on the expressway.

He just celebrated his 50th birthday last year.

Once there is small hold up baba works from home..

His life is so flexible that I dont think there is any country in the world he cant afford to go to any time..

By the way he is a Christian and a very good one at that.

He taught me to work and invest when body and mind still strong. That at a time, you would relax and money would work for you as much as you did for it at the beginning of your life.

Secondary market rates also depends on the rates there were bought. Most of those selling at 12% and above were probably bought when rates were about 15%

Get ACV from any mall its about NGN2500. Dilute about 2 spoons in a cup of warm water every morning on empty stomach.

It crashes bp and crushes cholesterol naturally and excellent for weight loss.

ACV = Apple Cedar Vinegar

ahiboilandgas, you better start working out lol. You'll be okay.

Well, we're all just going back and forth on this. Those who're saying 'you don't know how to have fun etc' won't be there when one's account balance is below sea level grin.

There's no doubt that some people are extremists i.e they make it big and spend big as well, while some make it big but are stingy to themselves. The main thing is to have a positive balance in the large scheme of things. The truth is that life is short and delayed gratification may or may not work but a man's gotta do what he oughta do.

The definition of happiness and satisfaction would always vary from individual to individual. I was expecting everyone on this thread to understand this by now. For someone like me, I'm a gym rat, I can spend money on whey protein than spend that same money buying beers etc that my body detests. This doesn't mean I'm better than those who binge on beers, it only means I find fun in keeping fit.

I don’t think so. We all know when rates dropped bellow 14%. I still have offer of 340 days at 13.9% at the secondary market. That doesn’t add up considering the month rate dropped below 14%. I don’t know what, but something is happening.

Due to the recent move of FPIs cashing out on their investments here (stock market and money market ). the only way to attract investments is to raise interest rates.

I don't know for today. You have to check everyday. Its Stanbic Bank, I had to do 128days last week for 13.7%. Just to ensure I don't miss out if any juicy rates pops out by January.

The CBN move to drive rates lower has been met with resistance by foreign investors. They are keen to see what CBN next move will be with some 300bn maturities due this week. The question on many analyst is does the CBN stick to offering lower rates and risk subdue demand from investors like last week OMO auction or does it come to the market with higher offer that will be enticing to attract enough to attract interest.
