I am having a challenge with my xiaomi redmi 5 plus. The bottom side of the phone with earphone fell into a cup with little water inside,2days ago. I quickly removed it and wiped it off. Then to be safe, I put it inside uncooked rice for some hours.

I tried to put it on yesterday and its showing blank and does not come up. If i press power and volume up, the screen lights up but does not go further and the light goes off.... if I plug it to charge, the charging light comes on..

Please, I need ideas on what to do and how or where to repair. I am grateful for any advice.

The screen is probably damaged by water, better take it to a phone tech to see if it can be salvaged, by the way, stop turning it on, you will end up short circuiting the motherboard..kpele

leaving a device that has been socked in water inside bag of rice for few hours is not ideal, when such a thing happens live it for a day,its a gradual process that requires patience. Phones ve complex components that re well clustered together,to ensure thorough result in those hidden areas.

30mins for 700mb is way too much for Airtel in my location. My last RN5 update of 505Mb took 5 minutes to download.

change your region to 'Morocco',the update will popup,update, and return back to nigeria when you are done.

my experience:
i didn't receive the update normally too, after i read about changing region,i just tried it out and to my surprise the update poped up after i changed region to morocco, so to test well,i changed back to nigeria,and the update disappeared again....so i changed back to morocco, updated, and set my region back to nigeria.

What's your font name please? And which theme are you using?
