yes sir, it allowed in UAE to work on visit visa and if the company love your job skill and you also want to stay you, they process resident and working visa for you. that 2 years and it done like that in UAE for years

It is illegal to work in Dubai or the Emirates on a tourist visa, you can only search for job on it and return to your country while your potential employer process your work visa.

I absolute have no idea, it's not my position to do the thinking here because there's strong possibility that U.S is like work backup in case UK fail. I wish you the best but on this thread we will always tell it like it is.

Your story is too complicated.......

You have a pending UK job offer
You stayed for 5weeks in the Emirate, you even take job offer with tourist visa.....
Those two stories na straight red card.

Just go to your interview and dont mention anything, just answer whatever the VO ask you truthfully.
As of recent your UAE visa doesnt count as travel history with the US embassy..... So the VO might not even ask anything about the visa.

Moreover.... be very careful with that your UK job offer

Yeah if it's illegal to work in the UAE on a tourist visa that already puts you in the red if you get asked about your stay in the UAE. You mentioned in one of your earlier responses that it is possible to work in the UAE on toursit visa - I thought that was very odd. Can you clarify or I'm I missing something here? On a side note, I'm perplexed at your comment:

"that why i cant make the trip to the US for now because i have to save for the moving process to the UK."

If that's the case, why bother applying for a U.S visa? At any rate, don't waste your time with a letter of invite from a U.S-based individual; it is not legally binding and does not incease your chance of securing a visa. In some corner cases, the letter might even work against your application.

Hello good evening I hope we all had a wonderful weekend,

Please house my interview is coming up this coming week and I’m a first time applicant I have previously traveled to United Arabia emirate last year August and spent 1 month and one week please house I don’t know if this would affect my application due to the long stay in UAE it just a visit.

And also I might not use the US visa because I have a job offer from the UK which have done the medical last month and waiting for the reply on when to move to the UK I have all document to prove that and it all genuine I don’t know if I mention this at my interview it would boost my chance.

I would so much appreciate all replies to this.

Uncle seyiwest And co.

Let me give you a little advice if you would be patient enough.

1) if genuinely you have a job offer in the uk why the rush to get a US visa, because it is far easier to get a visa from uk than Nigeria.
2) you have done medical as you said thus all your plans and savings should be geared towards your relocation to the uk, this guys are psychologists they read between the lines .

Concentrate on the uk Job and pray it works out fine after working for a while in the uk then you can go on vacation in the US. the choice is yours

Revised Visa Reciprocity for Nigeria

REVISED VISA RECIPROCITY SCHEDULE FOR NIGERIA: Effective worldwide on 29 August, Nigerian citizens will be required to pay a visa issuance fee, or reciprocity fee, for all approved applications for nonimmigrant visas in B, F, H1B, I, L, and R visa classifications. The reciprocity fee will be charged in addition to the nonimmigrant visa application fee, also known as the MRV fee, which all applicants pay at the time of application. Nigerian citizens whose applications for a nonimmigrant visa are denied will not be charged the new reciprocity fee. Both reciprocity and MRV fees are non-refundable, and their amounts vary based on visa classification.

U.S. law requires U.S. visa fees and validity periods to be based on the treatment afforded to U.S. citizens by foreign governments, insofar as possible. Visa issuance fees are implemented under the principle of reciprocity: when a foreign government imposes additional visa fees on U.S. citizens, the United States will impose reciprocal fees on citizens of that country for similar types of visas. Nationals of a number of countries worldwide are currently required to pay this type of fee after their nonimmigrant visa application is approved.

The total cost for a U.S. citizen to obtain a visa to Nigeria is currently higher than the total cost for a Nigerian to obtain a comparable visa to the United States. The new reciprocity fee for Nigerian citizens is meant to eliminate that cost difference.

Since early 2018, the U.S. government has engaged the Nigerian government to request that the Nigerian government change the fees charged to U.S. citizens for certain visa categories. After eighteen months of review and consultations, the government of Nigeria has not changed its fee structure for U.S. citizen visa applicants, requiring the U.S. Department of State to enact new reciprocity fees in accordance with our visa laws.

The reciprocity fee will be required for all Nigerian citizens worldwide, regardless of where they are applying for a nonimmigrant visa to the United States. The reciprocity fee is required for each visa that is issued, which means both adults and minors whose visa applications are approved will be charged the reciprocity fee. The fee can only be paid at the U.S. Embassy or the U.S. Consulate General. The reciprocity fee cannot be paid at banks or any other location.

The complete reciprocity fee schedule, organized by visa classification, can be found below.

That’s actually the way it is my broda. The news is 3 years ago though.... Even our Nigeria visa on arrival that is valid for only 15 days goes for about $180-200.

Reciprocity indeed! And we have several bitter people saying the Americans are “cheating” us, people that are so docile they can’t even ask their own government a single question oh!

One major thing I have come to realise is that as much as 80-90% persons with US visa refusals I have come across actually wanted to bolt with the visa. Then those with approval are mostly people that plan to go and come back (except for recent times sha), at least in my own circle. Una lie! In essence, these guys (VOs) are mostly getting their job done appropriately, yeah. Be sincere with yourselves please, the bulk of you lot busy liking some nonsense and senseless posts on here are majorly INTENDING IMMIGRANTS that got beaten to their own game, BITTER.... Simple!

Bro the G7 event in France is by Invitation and rotational, In 2017 Nigeria, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, Niger and Tunisia were invited while in 2018 Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal and South Africa participated in the event, 2019 event featured Bukina Faso, Egypt, Senegal, South Africa and Rwanda.
Remember you can't gate crash this event and that event has little or no impact in Africa, I prefer the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
Meanwhile the Japanese trip is very important to Nigeria because of the grip of Chinese market in Nigeria, we need Japanese quality in Nigeria and to be honest, that trip will do us a lot of good than the G7.

Hello gurus

I have traveled to the UK, and UAE. I intend to apply for US B1/B2 visa. I have a brother in the US who is very close to obtaining citizenship and possibly file for us(his siblings) in the near future. He entered the United state with a spouse visa.

I want to be very honest with my application but I am thinking if I mention my brother in my application, it is almost certain I may be denied because he could be seen a strong reason why I may not return.

Do you think I should say anything about him or include him? I am married with three kids but I intend to apply alone. What are your opinions?

I think a lot of objectivity should be adopted in this additional cost for an approved visa.

1. The US Government was magnanimous in applying this additional fee to approved visas only, and not across the board.

2. They stated that they had engaged the Nigerian Government for eighteen (18) months to review our own policy or they will be forced to apply a reciprocal policy, and it seems no results were achieved, hence the additional fee.

It is not a nice development, but he who wants equity has to learn to give equity in return.
